well i cant picture diablo being a game that actually needed a devoted healing class but in D3 i can see it being implemented since pots were taking out
its just i dont think there will be a class soley centered around that =3
What I meant was healing another class equinox. If that ability exists in any significant capacity, all content and all pvp will necessarily depend on healers. I hate needing a healer.

Yeah, I think that I want to be able to go off on my own and stand a chance against the enemies without having to depend on a healer to carry me through the battle.
I believe we will get a class with auras. Aura is a deep tradition in blizz since Diablo 2 (both wc3 ad wow have auras, and in wc3 auras played a big part of the game).
But it won't be like D2, a tree filled with 10 diferent kinds of auras. They will put like 1~3 auras in each tree of this class.
The new class will be a spear/lance/pike/halberd wielding melee fighter...
A class somewhat like the paladin, but not a paragon of chivalry.
A spell user. A cult warrior.... though MOSTLY a fighter class with kickass auras like "Thorns" and skills like "Impale".
Will not be using a shield.
Spear classes are rarely used in games. So something like a pure polearm class would be pretty original.
-Inquisitor... Draws upon the might of his gods to banish his enemies. Because of the nature of his foes and the devotion with which he arms himself, he has become tainted by fanaticism and more often than not- allows himself to succumb to his darker emotions...
Imagine wearing this badass piece of armor and walking like a killing-machine and skewering some big-ass demons with your huge pike, disemboweling the bastards, blood splattering everywhere...
Wearing strongly-colored plate mail and awesome crazy-looking fear inspiring helmets, full-face masks etc. With killer polearms. That's the class.

lol it can still easily be a ranger since who said you cant shoot arrows at melee distance xD

The Barbarian is from Arreat, a very cold snowy mountain top, but they are much tougher than normal humans, so they don't need warmth.

Where are Barbarians originally from? Sumeria, or more specifically Mesopotamia, AKA Europe. Think the Alps and the Pyrenees
Well, the name I don't really like is Inquisitor. Couldn't think of anything better at the moment. Avenger lol? I'm open to suggestions...
But it fits the anti-demon cult warrior thing I imagined.

What about a scythe? xD
To be honest, I have no idea what the hell a scythe was doing in D2 in the first place LOL.
But, the character wouldn't just use piercing attacks (it's just that I couldn't find any pics with a slashing pole weapon). He could slash too depending on whether he's wielding a bardiche, a halberd, a naginata etc. Different type of weapons depending on the culture/act.

I don't see a big, ugly, bloody scythe accompanying a holy warrior against the demonics. It doesn't look right. I see a holy scepter in his/her hand, or a fine sword with inscriptions of the Zakarum on it, or a pristine mace. Scythes are really just farm tools, anyway. It doesn't make sense to me.

in diablo you wouldnt ever need a healer but you could give someone a healer tree of some sort and give them bonuses for healing party members lol
like if they did release a monk class he could heal someone and gain an addition to life for a duration
or get a duration of armor lol
and make the heal sucky too so it doesnt heal all the way just enough to take an additional hit or something
they could give a potential paladin something like that too XD
but if they did bring back a paladin i could see it best as a zealot from zakarum seeking revenge on mephisto or something lol
Whatever happened to the idea that the next class could be some sort of Samurai warrior? I thought this idea was pretty prevalent for awhile? Am I imagining things?

maybe 1 single skill tree of one class =3

i think itd be fun to heal in diablo 3 lol

Personally I find them to be boring as well.

1. Zealot: retribution skills, sacrifice skills, offensive holy auras. ...............................................................................(offensive class)
2. Favored: glyph traps, health stealing skills, barrier auras. ...................................................................................(defensive class)
3. Slayer: attribute changing skills, weapon-effect changing skills, health and mana-changing skills. ..............................(support class)
(Various melee skills are found in each sub-class : Impale, Skewer, Sweep, Fend, Wild Charge etc.)

Perhaps have scythes as entry level pole arms? kind of like hatchets aren't really meant for war?
on a side note:
I don't think the Naginata would be too exotic, though there certainly are other oriental weapons that very much would be.
