So I got Diablo III Reaper of Souls Edition for Christmas this year for the PS4. Never played it before - but always heard amazing things about it. Anyways, a couple of weeks ago I was playing my first character I reached 70 with (Demon Hunter). At that time I had just reached level 70 maybe the day before after playing through the entire story mode and such for the first time as well, and I was just starting to get into running Rifts and Bounties. Up until this point, I had been playing offline with a local friend who leveled up with me at the same time as well, so we were both the same level/paragon level.
One night I decided to try out the online match making system for running some Rifts. I set the difficulty to Torment 3 and was matched with another group of 2-3 people. I dont recall what all their paragon levels were, but I do recall one of them was Paragon 10,000. They started running normal rifts and I was more or less just along for the ride at that point. Everyone was moving much faster than me and destroying everything before I could even try and kill it. I was much more focused on picking up look at that point....until I started noticing my Paragon level going up...rapidly. I went into this Rift with a Paragon level around 38 and by the end of this 1 Rift, my Paragon level had skyrocketed to over 1800. We finished the Rift, I went back into town, and more or less logged out for the night. To be clear, I went from around Paragon level 38 to 1800+ in LESS than 10min.
Since then, I have never even come close to experiencing that same thing. My friend who was leveling up with me still seems to level up that Paragon level at a normal rate, and I have even ran his character through several Rifts online with other Paragon level 10k players, and nothing has even come close to what I experienced. I also have not leveled up my Paragon level even once since then because it takes such a huge amount of experience to level up at that point. Ive maybe going 1/2 of 1 level so far since then playing on a semi casual basis.
So, my question is....what the hell happened?! How did my Paragon level jump so high so fast...and why has that experience never happened again with either my characters, or my now much lower level friends characters? Was this a bug or something else?
But I didnt hack...are you saying that one of the people that I was grouped with had some sort of hack going that greatly increased the amount of experience that I would get also? I guess I thought that a lot of that stuff (like loot, and experienced gained) was client side based on your settings (like what Torment level you have it set to and such).
Yep, one of them propably used some xp boosting hack. Problem is, you are now marked as hacker as well, most likely. And that may cost you your account. You better contact customer support, and try find some screanshot of those people and of you before and after

I wouldn't worry about being banned if your playing on console. Blizzard can't ban you for the same reason they can't do anything about modders and hackers on console. Exp is shared, and more than likely, that 10k paragon player had a modded gem of ease that was leveled (hacked) up several hundred levels so the exp gained per kill is insane. The only advice I can give you as a fellow console player is to always stay out of public matches.
Well theres no way I have any screenshot of that. Im playing on the PS4 for one thing, and I dont normally take photos or record video while im playing. This also happened several weeks ago - so I would hope that they wouldnt do anything now after so much time as passed.
Getting leveled up that fast might sound amazing, but I feel like I was handed the keys to a luxury car, when in reality I should still be learning how to drive. I still think my gear is fairly weak and I havnt played long enough to consider myself even an Advanced player. I feel like im greatly under performing my characters potential just due to my lack of gear and experience in general.
As stated, theres a hack where you take the Gem of Ease and cause it to grant close to a million XP per kill - So thats being multiplied by the Torment boost (T3 is 550% boost, or 55 mil XP/kill), and considering that it only takes about 40 mil at the start, and a few billion up to 700ish, well, you will QUICKLY level up. If you had been in T6, well, you probably woulda been around 3000ish.
Anyway, enjoy your new ez-mode, and a good 5-6 GR boost compared to what you were before.
The game can be (and usually is) hacked on console, since it's offline. If you want to play legit, play it on PC.
This is your opinion, but sorry, it is bias and wrong.
PC and PS4 are nearly the same game. Both are great, and if you want to, you can play either or.
Just understand that on PS4 or XBox 1, you have the chance of joining a hacked game. I do not see any difference between botting and hacking, so both of them have tainted features. Play the one that is most appealing and accessible to you.

The fact that the game is hacked on console, and by many players, is most certainly not an opinion.

They don't have TurboHUD and botting script programs on console so PC is basically just as hacked as console, play either one theyre both fucked and illegitimate

No PC player, even with bot has close to 5.000 paragon levels yet... so...

The # is not the point, it is the biased opinion of a certain meat head, who has never played console, and the fact that both methods of playing D3 are Tainted.
The console version of d3 is simply amazing. It is one of the best console games of all times in my opinion but only if you have friends to play it with, locally. If you play online then you're going to have a bad time... The online aspect of it has nothing to do with whether the game is good or not.
Just like pc version is infested with cheaters of all kinds, bots, huds, d3helpers and whatnots.
Except on PC, if you join a public game the worst you'll find is a botter which you can report and potentially get banned. While if you play on console, if you join someones game you risk having your paragon increased to the extremes.
It's absurd to say "just play with friends" if you don't want it to affect you, why don't people use the same shit with PC version when people use a HuD or bot "oh well, just don't join public games"
Console is dead people need to realize that Blizz doesn't give a damn about console since they have no way to combat the lowlifes destroying the game. And hacking is hacking is hacking doesn't matter what you wanna call it only difference is pc you can report people for doing it and blizz brings out the banhammer from time to time.

Welcome to console where either you play with trusted friends or you play alone.
