Now we just need a D4 announcement at Blizzcon
Or D2 remake I guess
Rather remake. Remaster on current old engine is very hard to do as Brevik said, also they will have problems in stopping modders (tmc/map hack), dupers and overall cheaters (botters are impossible to stop), next problem is very archaic game mechanics which only small group of hc fans want to play nowadays.
They firstly announced WC3hd so it looks like they have much of work on D2HD already. This new WC3 Reforge looks like semi Remake (some differences in Campaign but the same MP), new President is "u think u do, but u dont" so I think D2hd will be full remake with different systems, maybe with boa and ah to bring back d3 ppl, mobile ppl, new casual ppl and ocasionally d2 hc ppl. It will be big test (like "diablo" mobile) before new Diablo 4 game.
You are absolutely right. It's impossible to remake D2 while keeping all of its systems and mechanics because of issues that you have already listed.
I like the idea of bringing it back with BOA / AH, it might work out... Although I'm sure that anything other than the original trading system will create a huge backlash but some things are just not going to happen i.e bringing back the game with all the bots, dupes, hacks, real money 3rd party sites, etc, etc...
It will be something like Destiny / Anthem (That new bioware game)... coop based open world mmo/arpg loot hunter.
Probably in third person view - Hopefully with the ability to zoom the camera in/out.
Destiny occupy the scifi part of the genre and Diablo will cover the fantasy / dark fantasy side. That way Activision Blizzard can pretty much take over the whole genre... Unless Destiny 2 will suck and Anthem will be good which i doubt (Both of them will suck ).
Paragon 810 or so... 2 primals so far. Thundergod's belt and Tormentor staff. Both crap.
From what i understand, the idea is as follows:
-You have a 1/100 for a legendary class set to roll super ancient.
-If you have 4 super ancients from the same set, you will gain a "weak" skill rune for the skill(s) that is affected by the class set you have equipped i.e IK set will only give you skill runes of WOTB/COTA.
-If you have 6 super ancients you will gain a "strong" skill rune for your set skill(s).
If they are going for a Diablo based FPS game, I think it might be one of these options:
1. A single player experience that would attempt to rival the stature of Half Life
2. A survival fps game like ARK: Survival evolved
3. A death match based game like COD/BF
4. A mobs style fps game like OW
I think the first two options make more sense... Option 4 doesn't make sense at all.
Whoever posts a primal ancient item, please take the screenshot while you are holding down the control button so we can see the stat range... Not a single one of those who posted screenshots has done this so far, what the hell?
I agree that the primal idea is not the most creative but it might not be too bad since the rarity is quite high (about 1% from what i've heard). It's something that resembles the Diablo 2 spirit a bit more than everything else in the game to this point. You know, those insanely low drop rates on certain items and runes. As long as we won't be able to get full primal gear in a matter of weeks, i don't think this is such a bad thing. Actually gives people more reason to play for longer and also adds a bit more flavor to non-season play.
The armory and crafting mats interface are probably the most interesting features they are adding. It's a QOL change people have been asking for since forever but we finally are going to get it so i'm good with that.
The removal of bonus act bounties is a good change i think.
The change to Rimeheart is a bit sad. I wish they'd change it to work on all enemies affected by CC effects... Maybe then it will be useful.
Other changes don't seem to interesting. I hope they are going to have some more item changes / bug fixes.
Gratz Quinn on that awesome clear. The reaction in the end is hilarious xD
I don't think that the reason for not fixing it in this patch is that they don't know what the source of the problem is. My guess is that this kind of fix needs a lot of internal testing because it can destroy the balance of the game. In other words, it's a very sensitive detail that needs to be tested like a million times before it is included in a patch. They did not want to rush it in order to avoid mistakes. That's only my guess.Quote from Mandrikar
The largest omission was the two-hander damage range (and off hand damage affix). That indicates they haven't found the source of the problem after considerable time to look for it, which is troubling given the imminent launch of RoS. It is possible all but the dual wielders will be gimped at Reaper of Souls launch.
Has nothing to do with anything. These are hotfixes. They hotfixed Nargule because it's a total exploit. It's not a legit way to farm items as you make it sound. There is nothing to be pissed off about here and if you are pissed off then you probably don't see the bigger picture.Quote from Lugzanus
Items are killing people on HC (blackfeather), 2h weapons "act" like 1h weapons, drop rates of some items are f*****, and what they do? "Fix" a way to farm items
I don't understand why people are surprised about the EU price. It's always been like that. We always get fucked over when it comes to product pricing. Not only that, we as people who play D3 are getting constantly fucked over by crappy decisions that Blizzard make i.e additional slots with the DDE?
But still, i am going to buy their game because it interests me too much and i just can't give up on it. Besides when i think about it, going out for one weekend, i spend a lot more than 55$ so yeah, fuck it.
