We are likely to have a progression of the skills to 20/25/30 depending on the skills hardpoints. I think we will also have the information on how to calculate the skill for higher levels. We may also add formulas on how to add in elemental masteries as well. The last two may not be needed if we get the planner ported to ES. Since that tool will be a lot easier to use.

Trying to picture Hans as a Dominion...nah it isn't working sorry. It's the mustache that gets me every time - Al-T.
I was helping a new player at Zy-El at something and it worked and the person quoted that I was an angel. At the time my post count there gave me a rank of Angel.
The next message was from Al showing his humor. The message was this
"Trying to picture Hans as an Angel...nah it isn't working sorry. It's the mustache that gets me every time"
Also at the time my avatar had a picture of a Knight with a mustache.
Quite some time later someone said thanks to him and that he was an angel and I stated this
Trying to picture Al-T as an Angel...nah it isn't working sorry. It's the tiger stripes that gets me every time.
Both of us change the Angel to whatever our current rank is.

In the D2 Mod Battle for the Elements or BFE for short. The mod implemented friendly fire (FF). That mod added a Hard Mode that has quite a few skills and attacks that are considered FF. The first time I played I was a summoning Necro and hired the Act 1 rogue and she killed my skeletons and the horde of monsters were then making a beeline for me luckily I had invested into teeth and I killed the mobs and the skill killed the Hireling in the process. I said it deserves you right for killing my beloved Skeletons.
I do not remember seeing anywhere if they are implementing hirelings. We did see the followers but we do not know if it might just be for a quest or if it was just for the demo.
In classic the Hireling was only used in the Act you could buy it from and you could not give it any items at all.

If any members here know me from the Phrozen Keep and in Particular the Zy-El forum will back you up on that . I would have used the crazy smilie but did not find one. Someone even created a term for me Mentaldom
In Diablo 1 I used a lot of magic items as the end gear and only a few uniques and most of those were the quest ones.
In regular version of D2 (classic and Lod) The only uniques I have found were normal and a few of the exceptional ones and never had the top of the line uniques and had no real issues on defeating Hell unless I was playing on of my crazy builds. I never devoted myself to farming runs. If I did a run it would be a complete clear and not just a rush to the boss and kill and decide if to keep any of the items.
In mods it is a different story and it would be based on the mod in particular. But most mods it is easier to get uniques/sets but the mod is usually more difficult as well. Most mods will also have features to enhance the items. D2 had planned to use some of these features but decided not to. Some of the information on this is still in the files.
I am saying is that the development team do have other options to make items good. I will take an example of a mod I play is Eastern Sun. I chose that mod since some people here play it.
You have recipes that adds a mod or improves a mod on an item. In return the required level to use is increased. In ES (Eastern Sun) it will be 2 levels for weapon 3 for torso, shield, helm and 4 for everything else. There is a secret recipe that will reduce the requirement of the item but the recipe is expensive.

Tinkering was toned down from where it was used before. Most experienced ES players will not devote to much attention to it since the bonuses are quite low and there are caps on how many times you can use them (called Tinkering Points). You can usually add about 30 points of tinkering but sometimes you will only get a few points. The number of tinkering points you get on an item is determined at the time of the item is being created. When an item is tinkered there is a check being made to see if there is any points left and if there are enough points left to use that tinker. Some tinkers are worth more points than others. I will have all that information on the guide when it is done.
There is a bug in regards to the D2 engine that the check is not made for the tinker or at least not correctly on the cap of approx 30 tinker points and you can tinker on gemwords/runewords until you reach the cap for that stat on an item. But if you used all the tinker points on the item before it became a runeword/gemword then you can not tinker on the item anymore.
Tinkering now is for the most part used now on the end gear to help round out the character.
The most common ones are the life tinker and cold damage tinker. The cold damage tinker is used more for the add duration of the chill/freeze than the damage. Since in Hell the duration is heavily cut.
In the past when you could farm Griswald, Radamant, Treehead, Hephasto (likely got the spelling on the names incorrect) you would get an organ from them. The ones most farmed are Griswald and Hephasto since you would be able to tinker either min or max damage on any item up to the cap on the item or you have no tinker points left.
I think I covered everything there. I hope it is clear enough if not just ask. If there was something I missed just ask and I will answer.

If I have to live with Binding on Equip. If only the Legendary items had that feature it is fine but to me the Bind on Equip does not feel Diablo to me. I never really cared for the uniques anyway. I have always been a fan of the rare/crafts.

I made a Martyr build based on Sacrifice it was the most fun with the Paladin I had. He was Hard Core as well. He made it to Hell and did quite well there.
I like to play oddball builds and skills.
The thing is that a large portion of the players will only choose the best of the skills and only put a point into the other skills if it is needed as a requirement or as a synergy. The other skills are also good but since all the guides mentions that those skills are not uber and that they are useless.

In regards to D3 many things are changing as it should since it is in development. I think the team is just working on right now the coding and main parts of the skills right now if it is multi attack and if it needs special animation and such. The true work on the damage and such will be done towards the end and likely during the Beta when they will tweak the skills and monsters and do the balancing. The thing is they will never get it fully balanced and will likely see patches that state this skill was improved or this skill was toned done.
We will see if they plan on using the runes to enhance the effect of the skills since that can open up a new can of worms in regards to balancing. It is a nice idea but whether it works out is another thing.

They have a lot to work on in the game. We do not know if they are done with Act 1 yet. We also do not know if any of the characters are done. I would say they have the animation and a good portion of the coding done but the skills I would say are far from done and will likely change during the development of the game.
During Beta testing many key things may be changed or new content add. Likely many bugs will be found and need to be looked at and see if they can be fixed or minimized the damage or find a work around to the bug. Fixing that bug may have caused another bug they need to fix.

When I read that Gene Simmons came into my mind as the Demon.
If they do add those two I think they will want to keep it a suspense on how they look and not give away everything while it is under development.

W can mean that it is only going to the top of the screen
A can mean that it is going to the left of the screen
D can mean that it is going to right of the screen
S can mean that it is going to bottom of the screen
Those keys can be replaced by the arrow keys or other keys
I would still prefer the mouse only option

I think D3 will work fine on any machine that is made in the last year or 2. If the development gets delayed and it takes longer then it may need higher performance.

I will be assisting skynet. I will be making a guide on enhancing your equipment when I get the time and get used to the wiki format here it will be up as well as other things when they are ready. Any suggestions to that guide or any thing else that you want to see added to the wiki let me know.
The first guide I make may be the installing ES and common troubleshooting guide since I saw a few posts commenting on how difficult it is to install.
If you have any suggestions please post here
I did not read all the past posts if anyone has an unanswered question or has a question please ask here or you can message me. I am more than happy to help. If you have questions about other mods please ask me I may know the answer since I have played many mods.

Maybe I should create a guide to installing mods and having more than 1 mod running at the same time. I think the most I ever had installed at the same time was 10
Eastern Sun is one of the easier mods to install since it has the installer. The key to the install is to make sure that when you are running the installer that it is going to a subfolder of the main Diablo folder. By default it goes to where diablo likes to install the game in the first place. If you have it installed somewhere else then you need to point it to the correct location. To play you need to use the Eastern Sun launcher to play since it makes a backup of your current D2 folder and then inserts the 1.10 version of the files it needs and then runs the mod. When you are done with ES it will move those files back and should cause no issues with Battle Net. If you have 1.12 and have the downloaded version of the game you can still run it but it becomes more tricky since the mod needs a cd to pass the secure rom check to play since it is using the 1.10 version of the game.exe to play. At the main forum for Eastern Sun at d2mods.com we have a sticky with instructions. You can also PM me there as well (same name as here).
For Median I create a sub folder in the main D2 folder and add all the Dll's and other files I need and use a script launcher that is available from the keep. I am new here so I do not know if it is alright to post a link to get the launcher.
For Zy-El it is more tricky since you would need 1.09d version of Lords of Destruction to play. I can get more in depth if people are interested or you can PM me for help.
There is a misconception about Zy-El that it is hard. It is at first but your character can get very strong. Maybe not as strong as 1.10 mods due to damage caps of 83k. It is one of the mods that I know that you can create a cracked club into a weapon of mass destruction. The thing with Zy-El it takes time to play with dedication you can get a character to level 10k. We have a tourney going on at the moment at the main forum that you use no equipment and only charms. It is tough at first but as soon as you can do Meph runs it will become easier. Some of us are playing Hard Core. The thing to keep in mind is that Zy-El is the mod that has everything including Carmen Electra in it. I can get more in depth in Zy-El if people want.

I am thinking of adding this topic as a link in my signature to offer suggestions to improve the contents. Since players may want some guides to some of the features and such.

I do not want the extra keys since I like to use many skills when playing Diablo 2. I use all 16 hot keys for skills and switch on a regular basis. I just find it easier to control moving with the mouse and for using the skills. I could use the scroll wheel to cycle the skills but I quite often have over 12 skills on that and it is too easy to over shoot the skill you want to use and use something that will get you killed.
