Not a joke.
Diablo 3 is my least favorite diablo game. The issue was not with Jay it was more with Blizzard. At the moment the game feels less like a diablo game with each patch. Some parts have improved but a lot more has become like an MMO Light.
Jay had one of the toughest jobs as a developer and he was damned if he did and damned if he did not and I think he handle it well. He has my respect as a person. It would have likely worked out much better if the game was not known to the public for about 4 years before the release. That just fueled up the nuclear firestorm that followed. The one that replaced him did not do as good as a job.

And what is the point of your answer.
OP: For a long time the only game I played was Diablo 2. Metropolis_Man knows me since we hosted a lot of Single Player Tournaments for a D2 mod called Eastern Sun. Those were good times and it would be nice if we could have some of those tournaments in D3.
I have been playing quite a bit of other games like The Elder Scrolls, Fallout 3/New Vegas/Fallout 4, Sub Nautica, Stonehearth, Timber and Stone, Elite, Torchlight 1 and 2, Rebel Galaxy.
The important part is having fun playing a game that you are enjoying. If at anytime you are feeling burnt out take a break and do something else. It can be taking up a different hobby.

Also I like the story mode the best but sadly I am forced to do bounties and rifts since the rewards in Story mode are low compared to adventure mode. I still do story mode from time to time.

Part of the reason the End Game is boring is it is too easy and too fast to get there.
Story mode is pointless now since for the most part it is quick bounties to get some mats, gear, and nightmare keys. Then the rest is Rifts and Grifts.
Things are handed out too fast.

One of the hardest things to program is the AI and I doubt that Blizzard will be looking to improve on it since it is not worth the investment in it since the game is over 15 years. It is one thing to patch it to make it easier to have it running on newer OS. I have no problem with running patch 1.09 or 1.10 on Windows 10 since I prefer to play Diablo II with mods like Zy-El or Eastern Sun

The last version of the mod does not run well on the Mac. It is best to use boot camp and use the Windows version.
Also the game is designed for 1.10 and it needs the cd to be checked to function. There was a method to get it working with 1.12 but it was glitchy

Sorry to bring that back since those days it was quite annoying and it felt like it did no good to report them, since they are back the very next time you logged back in.

I have never played a public game and only have played with people I knew.
I did report account spammers looking for friendships when the auction houses were active to sell gold. At one point I think I was doing that about 10 times a day.
Also I do not play this game that much since for the most part my 10+ years of playing Diablo 2 has left me for the most part Diablod out.

Titan Quest is quite good and so is Torchlight 1 and 2.
Max, and Erich Scheafer (Diablo 1 and 2) worked on Torchlight 1 and 2.

Granted that gem of ease modded (exploited) gem did hurt other players by giving them a lot of paragon levels.
I have never played it online on my Xbox and have no desire to do so since to me the game is a lot more fun to play alone and in offline mode. I just hope Blizzard adds a feature that allows new characters not to share anything with the other characters (paragons, shared stash, artisans, gold, etc. Then I would be real happy.

------------
I have both a PC and Xbox 1 and to me Diablo type games are for the most part more fun playing alone, unless you have a few good friends. I do not build fast clear builds and I like to take my time and kill and loot everything in the map. I even wish they bring back the walk feature since I find default speed to be to fast.
My favorite build is the melee WD yes a melee Witch Doctor and I think I will do one on Season 5 on PC.

OP I would suggest to level up some legendary gems since one of the best features to be coming is a new recipe in Kanai Cube to add either a main stat or Vitality to an Ancient item the amount will based on the level of the Legendary gem used. Other than that I would wait until patch 2.4 becomes live. You do have more options for builds especially now with the 2 piece LoN (Legacy of Nightmares) Set which is completely changed from 2.3 and now has a bonus for not using any other set bonus on gear. You get better damage and damage reduction based on the number of ancient items you are equipping. Also a lot of legendaries got revamped so it is easier to build a build to your liking.
Now back to my melee WD.

Also play some oddball builds that might only be able to do Hard difficulty but those builds were the most fun especially with only using magic or white gear. Not fun in Multiplayer though. The thing is you can play with any skill, Downside is farming for gold and items but playing the oddball characters were fun.
I prefer more playing DIII on the 360 offline since I hate game latency and lag.

I am not stating graphics but looks and style.

Also the other games from Blizzard makes money, make that buckets and buckets of money.
Diablo 3 is one of the largest selling PC games of all times. Let me restate that it is one of the largest selling PC games of all time.
You guys make it sound like it was one of the worst selling games of all time and the devs have to go begging on the street for change so they can eat.
Sorry I sound upset. but this is just getting to me.

What I like to see are real options on making gear better. Especially on Rare and Magic items but it should cost a lot of crafting mats to do and a lot of farming for mats that can only be dropped or by completing a difficult task maybe a real tough bounties maybe even having bounties in Rifts and Greater Rifts.
To me everything has just become Legendaries and Sets with maybe a couple of nice rares, but most of those rares are just stop gaps.
