If they call themselves aligned with ISIS then I can see them having a nice trip to Cuba and some surf and board homeland security style.

well try the usual stuff like disable trilinear in d3prefs, set sound channels to 16 ingame, as for lockups, i used to get quite a lot of those when i switched mobo, cpu and ram last year (fx 4130, asus mobo and a single crucial 4gb stick) its been plagueing me for a few months until i installed amd overdrive and manually loosened ram timings (setting them in bios didnt work), you might want to get in there and just see what's up with them timings, and yeah the memory passess memtest fine on default but still hanged in windows before my 'fix', now im running relatively stable only get blue screens maybe once a month or two
I would not call getting a blue screen once a month or two stable.

    -----------------

Power Supply could be an issue if it is either overworked or is starting to go bad. 600w is about the low end if using premium video cards.

If doing any overclocking than I would disable that and see how it performs.

    Check for updated drivers.

If overclocking disable that to see if the system is more stable.

You can also try running windows in a clean boot state.

posted a message on Seasons have officially begun!
I am not going to play PTR and I have not been playing DIII at the moment since I am back in the burned out phase. I really do hope that they remove the option to go straight to Adventure mode when this patch hits the live servers. I mean right now campaignmode is deader than dead.

Also isn't the whole point of Ladders/Seasons is to start from scratch.

posted a message on Release date for 2.1?
I am thinking it will not go live this summer since they have not even added the seasons and this patch is about adding seasons. My thinking is that there will be a couple of seasons played out in the PTR. The seasons will likely be quite short like 1 month Max and maybe a few very very short ones like 1 week or so. You want the first season to be well balanced. You can never get it perfect but you do need to make sure that no major glitches to occur during the first season especially if looking to cater to the competitive crowd. So it is best to have run a few Seasons on the PTR since it is much easier to state look it is PTR for a reason we are testing it out.

They could release the patch without Seasons but then the players that like Seasons/Ladder will think that it might be the same problem as with the PvP it was promised a long time ago and still no real PvP for them.

Also D2 had tonnes of Nerfs and buffs over the first few years.

There were also a lot of theory crafting in D2 as well and hence the cookie cutter builds.

I opened my game to public, someone joined, paragon 200 or so, Doing T6 rifts.

They were utter GARBAGE. I asked them to leave and they ignored me and followed.... So I stopped killing things and let THEM run ahead, they left after they failed to kill a goblin.
This is tough love and this is the most effective way to handle this situation. . Good on you.

In addition to not killing anything, i also run away from them running through mobs/Elites/poison pools etc. As they generally are slower, there's no way they can keep up. I'd much rather do this than get frustrated.

Kicking a leech is far to good for them. Its quick and they can re-enter another game immediately. By doing what we do, at least we're showing them how misplaced they are by letting them get killed and left behind and we're also wasting a significant amount of their time which means alot more to them than a player with patience.

Call me bad, call me whatever. It's tough love....
That's not going to show them anything since it is Softcore. What is the cost of a death almost nothing. If they die a few times they might just leave and just find another game to go to.

You might be able to get more out of them by trying to talk with them and seeing if they might need any help or suggestions on making their characters better. Of course it depends on that player willing to listen which the chances might be low. But then again who knows without trying.

If not playing Hardcore whats the problem with giving them a shot at playing. If they can not handle it but if they have been trying and who knows you might find a great person to play this game or maybe other games with.

I can possibly understand Hardcore but then again I do not like playing with other people when playing Hardcore

It's a nice idea, but never going to happen. It requires for the game to allow mods, and Blizzard already said multiple times that they do not plan on opening up Diablo 3 to modding.

I think one of the reasons is the following: The main reason why Diablo games were so successful is that their game play incentivizes long-term character development; many people played the same character for years in Diablo 1, 2, and 3. That's because you always have something to aim for. However, long-term progression requires a lot of effort in terms of balance. Mods, on the other hand, are usually different: they offer great short-term gameplay experience and allow for quick, short games to be played (see all the SC2/WC3 mods; especially the most successful one of all times, DotA). If you were to allow mods, people could just "simulate" endgame gear and -experience, might get bored after some time, and lose interest in playing ("why should I keep farming for my class sets; I got them in the "Pew Pew L00t Mod 3.1" and I have no reason to play regular RoS").

That's why I think there will never be something like custom play (or mods in general), or at least not anytime soon.
A lot of the best mods for DII made the game much more difficult and added a lot more content. Quite a few of the mods were more balanced than Vanilla DII. Eastern Sun and Median XL just to name a couple of them. Granted there are quite a few mods that up the quality of gear and make the monsters easier or at the same settings.

It is not dumb. Not everyone will be playing ladders and or only play for a few hours in a month and then not play the game for about 6 months and then play for a week or so and then take another break.

Some people like me would likely delete all their characters and start fresh with each season since I personally do not care about having the best items or losing them. For me the most fun I have with games are in the beginning. I just wish there was no shared stash, no shared artisans, no shared gold, no shared paragons.
