I still do not see why his rules or the suggestions rather that he put forward could not be universal and apply across the board (all games we play) At a glance they look as though they work.
And the fact that he alludes to that very point in his post only proves that fact.
It should also be a lot easier to play on one realm of WoW to a little extent. ...
Similar things can be done on WoW for sure, and probably a lot of other games as well. ....
What he has proposed so far, even as it stands now, will get my approval. I would suggest the higher up convene at some point to better discuss them and see how applicable they really are, though I doubt we will find any issue in that department. And there are possible some other ideas that could be added.
No better than that, all should attend, or at least most of us, from all ranks, high, middle, low. Possibly on Xfire of MSN. While a public forum such as this is no doubt useful, it has one flaw, response time, I much prefer the rapid response time present on a IM program, or even in a game.
and as a final off topic notice.

God dude, stop it. There’s no need to add that cheesy junk to this discussion.
I will only stop that, when and only when, other people stop speaking in leet and text speak, and filling their posts with nonsensical jibberish or abbreviations that less than half the site knows or understands.
If internet jargon is a trademark of the majority of this forum, I will not conform to that. I will continue to speak how I always have, in a much more coherent and eloquent way, or employing the use of a fitting quote. If that makes me an oddity of society or an outcast, then so be it. I care not.

I am fully aware of Ferret's competence and stigma within the guild and I also hold him one of my dearest friends on the forums. However, this topic is mute until SICK actually.. ya know.. becomes something. SICK has been practically dead for quite some time. When is the last time anyone talked to Silver.. Honestly.. Silver, I love ya, man, but everyone knows your appearances on the site are lacking(As are mine). SICK needs to be stripped down to the skeleton(No pun intended) and rewired from inside out. The leaders and rankings needs to be reworked. Making rules and guidelines at this point would be useless considering there's only a baker's dozen of us left. SICK is based here on the site yet being a SICK officer/soldier(Whatever you wish to call us) doesn't merit us any respect or anything in the forums. I have no idea who my superiors are or anything at all. I don't give a damn about the Legions being closed as it makes more sense for us to all be one body anyways. I have friends in the guild and I chat with Elfen via Xfire sometimes but it seems the guild isn't really taken seriously anymore. Every so often on LOD I'll run into someone who has heard of SICK and basically all you get is a joke such as "Wow you guys aren't dead yet?" and things like that.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I propose that a time and date be set for the high leaders of SICK to meet and redo things according to what needs to be fixed. I'm not saying I'm one of the people who will participate in the meeting but god damnit someone needs to.

Deregulation is the key. Hnk, Will, Ftero, Fire Dragon, and I are playing on Battle.net consistently. We help each other out, but we also have rules to follow. But we don't make it so technical as to scare away the uninitiated. Though we have had some cop out on us already and they never play anymore. But we are still having a good time anyway with who is left.
Me too, just been away from my PC.

Um, we (at least me, Ferret, Bambi, Stormy, Sinner, Winsty, some others I can't remember, and I suppose the rest of you that say "Oh, I'm on all the time- I play HC blah blah blah" even though I have nearly everyone's accounts on my list and nearly none of you are on) and also the small amount of us that are in the private group as well (although they are not actually allowed to interact with people outside their closed group- I think this includes Siaynoq and some others) have been on constantly for a long time. We're just waiting for the rest of the guild to catch up.

I'm sure what you said would make sense if I was talking about LOD. I was talking about the forums, however. The guild is a D3 guild so LOD is irrelevant.
And, forum activity in any guild only goes so far. The point of any guild is the game it supports (or in this case, games.) A lot of you complain about being spread out over a bunch of different realms (not that we currently are having this problem in DII.) It's the same thing with supporting multiple games.
Forum activity adds longevity to the guild, but focused gaming activity gives the guild a point.
We need to do something different in D2. Try to build the perfect 8 man team? We could test it by seeing how long it takes us to kill every monster in a hell mode game.Whenever someone dies, its a 10 minute infraction.
Not that I have anything wrong with that idea- for some people it may work- but realistically, I don't think that is going to attract new members, at least not the type I see on Diablo II everyday when I log on and interact with them. They want a guild that's functional in terms of helping them become powerful. There's ups and downs to following that notion, but the games I see say "chaos plz help" or "plz help new" or "utelebaal-001". Now, I'm not saying we should just forgo our own interests and completely sell ourselves over to others, but that's what people want. And rightly so- if they're not strong, how can they be of any service to our guild?
Of course there still would need to be a line- we don't want people just using us. We also want long-lasting friendships to foster to prepare for the immenent release in a couple of years. I'm pretty sure, however, that 2 or 3 years will weed out the fakes.
well ive missed alot lol O.o.. but Magi, and Teh Are right. "S.I.C.K" needs to be redone in both the forums and in the actual game.. which i think ferret has a few idea ( along with others ) about how we can make it a much better gameing experience for all..
Another thing is i know i haven't been posting much but the only time i ever see "High Ranking Officials" post any more is when its on something thats kind of controversy or only something that could change the way that ppl look at S.I.C.K i don't know if me saying that is fair really but thats just Imo..

I got some time this weekend to discuss changes, amendments, alterations, what have you. I really do think we should try get some sort of "live mass chat" sort of a thing going. Since it affects us all, from the highest ups to even the lowest rank, it will give everyone (attending) a chance to voice their opinion and have a hand in the rules, even if it is a small one. You always have a larger sense of accomplishment when it is your own work.

I need to say something about everyone whining about people being inactive.
SICK is not a diablo 2 clan. It is, iirc, an elite clan that is readying itself for Diablo III and be the ultimate diablo 3 clan, guild, whatever. People like magistrate (yes im saying your name, I'm not about to cupcake this message) are thinking they're Gods and acting as if every other person in the guild does nothing because they don't regularly play Diablo 2: LOD. For me, I got sick of the same old rushing and doing runs in Diablo, so I discontinued my quest to get to lvl 99 on the ladder. I'm sorry if i cannot use all my free time on an eight year old game and pretend like it's keeping my attention. I am now in the process of learning all the lore of the Diablo franchise so I can ready myself for Diablo III and understand the lore. This involves reading old threads and posts (mostly Elfens and Atru) and eventually reading books by Knaak. I am not close to that stage, but I'm getting off topic.
As for the whole recruit thing, I think the SICK clan should be a whole seperate thing from DiabloFans forum. Recently a lot of jump-on-the-bandwagoners came to the forums when Diablo III was announced and I have not been remotely looking forward to continue reading these corrupt forums anymore. I believe that the requirements should not belong to the actual forums, but knowledge on Diablo, skill, and most imporantly manners - which, actually, puts a use for the forum requirements, now that i think of it. Now im a flip-flopper. I'm all for the forum requirement but there needs to be exceptions, to be determined by higher ups such as Elfen, ferret, siaynoq, etc.

Again, not a Sick member, delete if you wish, just my view from the outside in.
It was originally a D3 guild when I joined the forum, now its a DIABLO guild, and that makes a hell of alot more sense. Not everyone enjoys Diablo 2, some like Diablo 1, some like the books, some like the lore, different people have different tastes, but being here says that you like SOMETHING about Diablo. And it's that Diablo series that pulls everyone together.
At least, that's how I see it, take it or leave it, your choice.

I was playing ES till my hard drive made an epic fail. Then I let my friend use my install disk and he lost it... So I'm waiting for him to find it or replace it.
I think competitions are the best way too keep people active. Not just pvp, but pvm as well.
I also think we should switch to ES, IMHO.
What it looks like here is that people want to stay inactive or want a complete rework to make the clan more active. Ironically, those are the people who I don't see online very often. Those who do play often just want more activity; not a complete rework. See where I am getting? Active people want minor change, inactive people want to reinvent the wheel.
Well, that does make sense, but wouldn't that be unfair to your members that enjoy Diablo 1 or the Diablo lore but don't nesssecarily enjoy Diablo 2? For example, Atrumentis is up in the wee hours of the morning (I have rare oppertunities to speak to him in real time) and he is very much into the Diablo lore. Would it be fair to force him to play Diablo 2 if he were not that interested in it?
I do understand your point, and inactiveness is bad, but what if there was a way to tell if the Diablo 1 players were active? Or if the Diablo lore people were active? Obviously everyone will flock to Diablo 3 when it's announced, but untill then, shouldn't you care to all areas that is Diablo?

Yea. I got a feeling I am gonna have to enlist into Sick to fix y'all's clan. ;P
I admit to my inactivity but that's because it has been summer time and I have lots of things to do. School starts next monday for me which will allow me more home time which I plan to devote some of to the forums. However, being on the forums with some of these ass hats gives me a headache. I know I'm not a prominent voice in the guild but I play my part and help out when necessary. I would have more D2LOD activity if it wasn't the same old song and dance. I do get on once a day usually but when I do so the people I generally play with are offline so I just log off myself.
I'm not saying you're inactive- I'm saying that people using the "This is a Diablo III guild" excuse can no longer use it so. I understand people are busy, but if you're busy, don't go saying that things are dying, because if you're not active it's partly your fault (at no one in particular), and if you're hardly ever on you probably aren't seeing all the people that are on.
