Jetrall made that logo? that's awesome.
I used to do a bit of coding, CCNA or something, but that was years ago, i've forgotten most of it now.
But yeah, looks like we are in for some visual treats here then.

Mar 10, 2009Elfen_Lied posted a message on Bashiok on Full Immunity in Diablo 3.Kinda sounds like a bit of a return to Diablo 1, where creatures are immune to one element, but possess only some resistance to the other elements. That sounds good.Posted in: News
So if we were to have immunities, but also a broad range of abilities with various damage types ensured to be available, it would be more a situation of the player just needing to intelligently use the different spells they have.
This will only work if they are not immune to something. Or at best resistance to it. -
Dec 29, 2008Elfen_Lied posted a message on Revised Rules & New Signature LimitPosted in: NewsThis whole section is a scapegoat for butt-hurt mods/admins to silence particular debates and keep them from being held. (art-design anyone?)
Lame.
The art debate would and could still happen under the new rules. You just cannot post things like "new graphics = suxors. Screw you Blizzard. Anyone who likes the new art is gay and bums goats." And before you say anything, yes, someone actually said that. If someone wants to argue against something, say the new art direction they can, so long as they do it in a concise, logical, structured, informative meaningful and reasonable way. "Hate the game, not the player" Reducing people who think differently to you to "gay fags" is not needed.
And sadly that is what happened in a lot of threads where an arguement or debate was taking place. All that rule does is stop the flaming on the person. It doesn't stop you from voicing your oppinion on whether you like or dislike something. -

Sep 25, 2008Elfen_Lied posted a message on Sexuality and Gender in Diablo III: Beauty or Brawn?Typically, I go male characters. Unless the classes/characters are gender locked like Diablo 1 and 2 or premade NPCs like in Warcraft III (the Hero units) or Baldur's Gate, or the class seems better suited to the female gender, most "mage" or "spell caster" classes usually are. Female "Warrior" types seem to butch. Amazon was fine as she was ranged based, as opposed to in yer face melee, like an Orc or Tauren Warrior.Posted in: News

Sep 6, 2008Elfen_Lied posted a message on Skovos not accessible in Diablo IIII'm really not keen on seeing artwork of things I will not get to see. Skovos looks awesome, I am hugely bummed we cannot go there (yet).Posted in: News
Putting it there to show it has some connection with the lore of a class in d3, sure that is great. But I want to go to all the homelands of the classes, I want to go to the necromancer underground city (possibly with a necromancer but any one would do), Sescheron (possibly with a Druid), Westmarch, Tur Dura (possibly with a Barbarian). -
Sep 4, 2008Elfen_Lied posted a message on Diablo 3 - Gambling, Death Penalty, MercenariesPosted in: NewsI didn't hear anybody whine about that change. Having a new system means more fun trying to figure everything out.
Probably because forums didn't exist back then, or at least not is such large numbers, I mean people back then pretty much only had 56k connections or only played LAN games.
D1 and D2 use almost identical colour palets D3 has a few more colours, and they are more varied. -

hmm city built into a mountain on an island
Yeah, that is Skovos. The Capitol of the Amazon Islands (now renamed Skovos Islands).
Time line seems very imcomplete, not just because it is missing every that happened in the Sin War, which Blizzard has confirmed is canon, but where is Marius freeing Baal?
And wasn't Mephisto caught in the Desert and later moved to Kurast?
Diablo is defeated. His Soulstone is destroyed, along with Mephisto's, upon the Hellforge.
But Thank god for that. I am sick to bloody death of saying that. I sorry but you kinda have to either not seen the cinematics at all or just not paid attention to not know that. -
Aug 12, 2008Elfen_Lied posted a message on Diablo 3: Character Gender ChoicePosted in: NewsAre there male amazons in the lure? Cuz if there ain't any, maybe there wont be an amazon class?
pardon my english
Yes there are. Though male amazons are not warriors, they hold clergy and governmental ranks.
However the Iskari (I forget the name) from whom the amazon are said to descend have both male and female warriors. -
Aug 6, 2008Elfen_Lied posted a message on Diablo III Development UpdatePosted in: NewsI guess its going to be a long wait guys. So much for a 08 release..
That is completely idiotic. How could anyone think it would be released this year, they just announced the damn thing.
probably not even a 09 either.
December 31 2009. All Blizzard games start with a theorised release date of December 31, it's like their thing. December 31 2008 is far too soon, and December 31 2010 seems to far away, so December 31 2009 works well. It's only a rough guide for blizzard they sort of pick a date and see how the game looks/works at that date then moves to release date accordingly.
Makes you wonder if the boss fights this time for diablo 3 are going to be on more of an MMO styled teamwork play,
Not sure about MMO team play style bosses, heard something about comparisons to Legend of Zelda though, also need to factor in Single Player. And a lone Barbarian Single Player at that. -

Jul 15, 2008Elfen_Lied posted a message on Diablo 3 Not An MMOAnd don't forget this very important FAQ from www.blizzard.com/diablo3Posted in: News
Will there be a single-player component in addition to multiplayer?
Yes. In addition to battling the hordes of the Burning Hells cooperatively with friends over Battle.net, players will be able to adventure through the world of Diablo III solo. More details on both the single-player and multiplayer experience will be revealed at a later date.
Last time I checked, MMO's do not have Single Player. Kind of defeats the point of it being Multiplayer Online. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

And I still can't get it to work.
Anyone else have any ideas?
Anyone else from NZ having this issue?

I'm covering for everyone at work during the christmas/new year's (and like the first half of january) period. So Unfortuately I haven't really been able to get into this one as much as I would have liked, hence why my posts are so few and so small.
Bad timing I guess. They told me I was working Christmas like 2 weeks before Christmas. yah!

"Come then now Fallen ones! Death comes for you! Feel it's icy breath!"
Wulfgar stood tall and steadfast, with an axe in each hand, spouting all manners of barbaric war cries.
0
"Hell, it is about time." Wulfgar thought. "These men look like they are in dire need of a good fight all this walking is making us antsy."
0
Wulfgar listened to the man speak, but remained some what skeptic, but did not show any signs of it.
"Well at least it should prove to be more entertaining that fighting in the pits."
0
"Too convenient." Wulfgar thought to himself. "His appearance as soon as we landed was much to convenient to be coincidence."
Wulfgar decided to let it pass this time, but remained somewhat reluctant to have this man in the group, but there was little he could do about it at the moment.
0
He stood very stoic like, scanning his surroundings, his time spent in the pit fighting arenas had made him weary of when magic wielders conjured huge displays of magical energy.
"Come forward who ever you are!" Wulfgar bellowed. "Show yourself!"
0
"While the sea breeze is refreshing, I would much rather be in a pit fighting." he thought to himself.
0
"Bring it down before it capsizes the ship!" he yelled as he slashed away at the tentacles advancing on the mages.
0
Wulfgar who was now after being freed able to scratch his itching shoulder.
"Your thirst for vengeance is welcomed, but your means to your end leaves much to be desired. You would be better off to carve a blood path of mayhem, and relish in the slaughter."
0
"Hmm." He thought to himself. "No sense in fighting it now."
"Quick! free us!" Wulfgar yelled.
0
His shoulder itched, though his chains denied him the ability to rub it. Wulfgar saw the young man wrestling with his shackles.
"Foolish boy." he scoffed. "Daring escapes at sea never work."
Wulfgar began to survey his surroundings, his fellow captives were mostly of muscular build, except of course for those who displayed qualities of spell casters types.
"Pointless to fight here, when we dock must find means to escape." he said.
0
Not what i meant.
The other classes have like paragraphs of changes, warriors have 2 lines of changes. Neither of which is any good.
