I really should go to the official page more often.
/facepalm
Eh no worries man.
Altho that is the reason I dont post much on the forums here. Not to many people that post here really take the time to do research I take it as most of the people are either way young, just no time to look, or people have selective hearing/reading.
However on the topic of skills do you guys think they'll add new warcrys to the game ? It would be cool to see a warcry that did/could hurt or straight kiill mobs lol
Listen, for those of you who are still fucktards and won't listen to other posters, THE BARB MAY OR MAY NOT BE THE SAME ONE FROM D2. So stop asking about it.
This has already been settled. Read backwards. The least you can expect from someone insulting quite a few people is to read the thread he's posting in.
Now go away, trolling nitwit.
Haha, please tell me you are kidding. Look at the date dude. I was one of the first people here and i would be gone if i was a troll. But none of us senior posters here can stand the thick headedness of some of you new posters. So shut the fuck up you piece of shit poster.
all i gotta say is the barbarian in the gameplay trailer was nuts! especially when he put on that set of armor. that kinda stuff makes u wanna play, the "visual" stuff. i was planning on playing a ranged classes, but this barbarian is making me think twice.
And as we know, everyone in Sanctuary is the exact same age and don't reproduce.
Canace has a son, Wirt. Canace is actually missing in D1. It is assumed she died of a broken heart when the demons took Wirt into the Labyrinth.
Atma has a son, err had a son. Radament killed him.
Mephisto has a son and a daughter. Lucion and Lillith.

-Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's First Law of Equivalent Exchange. In those days, we really believed that to be the world's one, and only, truth.
I don't know why but I want the barb to have more throwing weapon skills this time around. There's just something inherently badass about chucking giant axes at demons =)
Looks like Barb has charge skill now(or a similar skill)
which makes me think what kind of skills pallys will have, i think they will be "more divine" than before

my english may not be as good as yours, but im sure that my portuguese is... http://xinube.mybrute.com/
I dont understand how anyone here can think that the barb in D3 is not the same barb from D2...
In the video that has been linked already (http://youtube.com/watch?v=lWxYlWitpUk) the exact words of the man are "The barbarian is THE SAME barbarian THAT YOU PLAYED IN D2, but it is 20 years later. HE has seen alot, HE has gone through alot, finding out what these things are, where HE IS AT IN HIS LIFE, what has happened to HIS people at the end of LoD.....but we're just trying to make the point that we are personalizing these characters, they are not generic."
The way that this character is personalized is that he is the same character that we all know and loved before. The female does confuse me on how that would work with the lore, but as a former poster has said, that can be fixed with just a few dialouge changes. The D3 barb is the D2 barb, that is a simple fact and i don't know how it can be denied on these boards any longer.

Finally, someone else who pays attention.
I am really pleased with the way the new Barb is looking. The skills look amazing. We see skills from at least the Combat skills tree and the Warcry tree. I'm kind of curious if the new skill trees might be a little less spread out. Such as only 2 skill trees per class, with the 3rd tree split up into the other two.
That could actually give the characters a little bit more diversity. Each class wouldn't have skill trees that have similarities to other classes. For example, Necro and Druid both with summon skills, or the Pally and Barb both with combat skill trees.
Well, now that I think about it, there will still probably be some overlap that you just can't do without for certain classes.
But now I'm just rambling. The Barbarian looks great!! I'm done.

do you thing it'd be necromanter in D3??
90% chance that there is no Necro. Besides this thread is for the Barbarian, not the Necro.
Doesn't really matter if it is the old barbarian. There was only few things he said like "This cave is filled with evil and corruption" etc so u really couldn't jump into his shoes and imagine to be him. Now with the new one you prolly can since there are gonna be all kinds of dialogues where he will talk etc.
If you've got more than a basic understanding of English, or any language really, things can be implied without being said. We already went over this earlier in the thread. Basicly the possibly implied part here is "kind". The same "kind" of Barbarian. "He" can be a reference to both "this new Barbarian" or "the same old Barbarian-Person".
When does he use the word kind. He doesn't.. He says,
The barbarian is the same barbarian that we play from Diablo II. But it's 20 years later.
There is nothing to interpret. If you think there is, go back to school and relearn the language you are using.

He did? Source?
Did you play Diablo II: LOD? At the very end when Tyrael comes down, the portal he opens for you doesn't actually send you to Horrogath, because the mountain is about to explode. He sends you to a safe place.
Go now mortal. I have opened a portal that will lead you to safety.
Luckman, will this convince you that it is the same barbarian as in D2? In this thread it is clearly stated that it is the exact same man as we played before.
Oh my, aren't we fiesty today? Really, "The same barbarian" could equally as well be "The same barbarian" in the same way one might use "The same car"; Even though it may not refer to the exact same car, it can refer to the same KIND of car. Do you understand it now young one? *pats "Archie" on the head*
If you take the context of what he says, it is obviously the identical barbarian.
The barbarian is the same barbarian from Diablo II. But its 20 years later. He has seen a lot, he's gone through a lot. Finding out what these things are, where he's at in his life, what has happened to his people. At the end of Lord of Destruction, Mt. Arreat was destroyed. That's where the barbarian's ancestral home is.
The bolded parts are explaining why he is old and has grey hair.
Think about it. Why would they put a young fiery female barbarian in the game. But then make the male barbarian and old, grey man. He looks older than Qual-Kehk!!
If they wanted to make a new male barb, they would have just made a new young (same age as the female) and powerful barbarian.
I can see that we aren't changing your closed mind anytime soon. So I will leave you be.

The barbarian in Diablo III is indeed the same character we all played in Diablo II. So his memories, interactions, and backstory all still exist, including his knowledge of Cain.
If you take the context of what he says, it is obviously the identical barbarian.

They don't want to teach little children the concepts of life.
It's the decisions you make when you have no time to make them that define who you are.
Will he have skills such as..
Tragic Memory
-(negative)50 mana
Curl up into a ball and take 100% more damage
which makes me think what kind of skills pallys will have, i think they will be "more divine" than before
