Everyone have not gotten perfect gear already, not even the ones who have played the most. People have different opinions on what perfect gear is, and the most competetive players have a way higher standard. However most "casuals" join in every start of the season for the initial gear hunt, they get some ancient pieces and feel like they can't improve their gear any more since their standards are so low relative to the top end players. They see no point in continuing, so they burn out and quit untill the next season. That being said, paragon lvls is what will matter the most in the end for leaderboard pushing, and players who think they are safe at 1k-1.3k paragon for any sort of rank 1 spot, is sadly mistaken - they will have virtually no chance.

Which is absolutly not true: Avoid won over Gaby in S3 with 600 paragons less.
Paragon helps, but it's not all that makes a difference. Sure you can see a big boost if you're paragon 1K+, but it's really rare for a legitimate player to get there in a season (especially solo).
Funny enough we will see Paragon 2500-3k this season. Anyone thinking they stand a chance against a 2500 at like 1200 or less is crazy. Paragon this season is gonna be insane on whos on top(sure a few hundred within someone else you are competing again won't really matter).

I forgot to add - unless you are completely incompitent. That should never, ever happen, and everyone is laughing about it because of it. Gaby is a complete joke in the competetive community. All he has is paragons, but he is VERY hit and miss in terms of actual skill. Using that as an example isn't proving what I said wrong.
And yes Jelloslock, a few 100 paragons makes little difference, but 500-1000 paragons, its several tiers higher GR even if you only look at the damage perspective.
everyone has 99% perfect gear already, i guess all that's left to do is farm paragon for 3 months straight ..
I guess I fall into that 1% that doesnt have perfect gear.I have 2 items maybe 3 of ancient gear on all characters I play. Not one of my characters have ancient weapons. But each of the ones I am playing are past gr50 which is something I did not do last season with at least near full ancient gear.

Actually you are both wrong. One of the main reasons why Avoid was able to perform so well while still being under-leveled was the fact that he had access to D3Helper which was not available to the public at the time.
On topic: Yeah, farming paragon sucks. The game is basically only fun in the first week or two of the season, then it devolves into constant paragon grind which is just mind numbing.
Its all about fishing for the rifts. Sure a Paragon 2000 will be able to clear a higher range of Grifts. But the individual Players have to get lucky fishing for the high density easy to clear multiple conduit pylon Grifts anyway were you most likely wont need the highest Paragon level. Diablo3 is all about luck, not about skill / Paragon. But ofc Paragon is nice to have.
AFAIK you can't get 2 of the same pylon in a GR. So, where are you getting that multiple Conduit pylon idea from?
Solo ladder should be constructed. With every item with every stats you want. Paragon and gem levels the same for everyone. Its the only way to make it a "fair" competition based on endurance for fishing and skill. And ofc this would allow players to test more and push everything. It would dramatically shorten the time of PTR's and help to develop the game. I mean they could do this as additonal game Mode. But... yeah.. Blizzard allways need a long time to use stuff other games successfully doing for years.
There's no need for this. There's no prizes for the leaderboard, as the game is not meant to be competitive.
or you can go back to playing non season, and you know ... farm paragon for the next 30000 months. you speak as though you never ran endless baal runs to try and get to level 99 in D2
Well yes thats true,
but why do the guys play solo? I mean its that easy to reach high paragon within a group. Diablo3 is not mentioned for 100% solo play in my opinion. If you don't have a decend clan, there is always the possibility of several ingame communitys where you can find good players to compete with.
Well the people who play in groups are already starting threads saying things like "everyone has 99% perfect gear already, i guess all that's left to do is farm paragon for 3 months straight .." :-)
imho the balance of the game is so completely and utterly broken that the only way to enjoy it is to play 100% solo. Group play just ruins it, unless you do want to just play for a few days every season and then take a break until the next one.
Paragon helps, but it's not all that makes a difference. Sure you can see a big boost if you're paragon 1K+, but it's really rare for a legitimate player to get there in a season (especially solo).
There is lots of people who have legitimately reached Paragon 800/900/1000 in S4 already.
I play like 6-10hours a week. Have got till 400ish paragon and gr57. And i still have ton of things to do... (reach gr60, finish that guide thing to get all the portrait rewards). I play almost only solo.
Can i compete for top ranks of leader boards? No ofc i cant. BUT i have quite a lot of things to do still. Even on 1 same char i have.
BUT you feel burnt out? So maybe set your in-game goals straight... You want to be ''the number one?'' Then farm those dream roll encients, fish those dream rifts AND dont stop farming paragons... since your competitions wont stop. You dont like this route???? Well then i have a bad (or good) news for you - join the majority - people like me, who cant aford to play 12h+ a day, every day.
Well, I disagree. Diablo is about character progress and grind - yes. But currently, this character progress is limited to only one thing: paragon levels. That's not what Diablo is. It's not a paragon grinding game. It's about LOOT. Diablo is a loot-based game, that's actually something that the developers have constantly repeated over and over again, and currently it's not entirely true anymore.
Diablo 3 is an awesome game currently, but the loot has kind of lost its appeal for anyone who reaches a certain level. Watch this video to get a reminder what Josh wants Diablo 3 to be about: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rYbt27bRMqs

You are correct on that. I'm not certain legitimate is the best word to use. Maybe I should have said, it can be difficult for some people for some people to reach it. For example, I work about 60 hours a week, have a wife and two kids. When I'm not with family or at work, I'm either training for my next blackbelt or killing some time in Diablo. I'm not crying a river about paragon because of the choices I make in how to spend my time. However, I won't get bored all season because I'll also not burn myself out upfront trying to win the season 6 weeks in.

If you play this game as it was meant to be, a time-waster, then you'll enjoy it a lot more.
If all you focus on is topping leaderboards then you're gonna have a bad time. This isn't WoW, let alone a real competitive game like CS/DOTA/SC

Everyone had perfect gear? I didn't realise... Guess the happy elves got my Shenlong fist and last Inna's pieces for me while I was sleeping...
That was nice of them!
