You're correct in that they are bugs. But when you abuse them, you are exploiting an unintended behavior in the program. Thus, the term 'exploiting'. If the bug was stumbled across on accident (which is unlikely due to how it is replicated), whoops. When you knowingly abuse the bug, then we have a problem. Well, not we. I'm not banned. ;)

Bloodshard exploit = 10x+ faster gearing at beginning of season with most powerful focused farming method.

Hellfire amulet = meaningless leaderboard ranks and a slightly elevated farm for short period.

I like how you refer to the bloodshards as an exploit, but you don't refer to the hellfire amulet exploit as an exploit. You're attempting to sugar coat it because you feel one is less game-breaking than the other. But it doesn't matter which was worse, as they were both still exploits.

According to the small group of you guys on this thread and on my video who feel so great about other people losing their game licenses, this is an okay thing for the company to do because cheaters are cheaters and this d3 game is all about fairplay

Blizzard upholding fairplay in seasons, this is a joke. There is lots of work to be done and we are already in S4.

Massively banning your playerpool with random criteria that isn't accurately targeting who "excessively exploited" and fit your own criteria for a permanent ban is wrong, not sure how any of you guys think this is okay ROFL.

IF someone tried this hellfire amulet thing for less than one hour or even 3-4 hours out of curiosity and stopped, this is not "excessively exploiting".

Banning a large amount of players who did not "excessively exploit" as they mentioned warranting a permanent ban, how the fuck can any of you think this is a good thing overall for the community?

This thread is turning into a joke, half the comments in here are people jumping up and down in joy because "cheaters" got banned from their uh game world for apparently some "powerful" exploit that meant literally nothing to season leaderboards since well quite frankly leaderboards mean jack shit in the first two weeks of the season..

And any of you thinking that blood shards were less of an exploit than HFA, are you serious right now? Whatever you are smoking I would like some please!

Bloodshard exploit in S3 allowed you to gear your character 10x+++ with the most powerful way of getting loot at that time, bloodshards.

Hellfire amulet bug allowed you to do a few GRIFTS higher than you normally can early on in the season, for speed grifts this barely mattered as most passives for most of the DPS classes were defensive and did not provide enough dps boost to carry you much higher than you already could do. Leaderboard ranks means nothing early on so anyone that actually is competing on leaderboards, they didn't care at all...

How any of you can even imagine that HFA > BloodShard just comes to show how little you play this game but love to jump in on the "ban those fuckers" parade because you are a cool kid who does not use silly bugs in a video game, here's a cookie, your such a honorable person.

I'm not arguing which exploit is worse. They are both abuse of unintended game mechanics that give a person an unfair advantage. If you read about the exploit, processed the information, and actually decided to replicate the exploit knowingly, I have no sympathy if you are banned.
I don't care if you tried it for 1 minute or 1 week. You KNOWINGLY replicated an exploit.

Actually Advantage which you are discounting here is not only the most important bit but what separates people from using it from people trying it.

    here is from wikipedia

In video games, an exploit is the use of a bug or glitches, game system, rates, hit boxes, or speed, etc. by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game's designers.[1]

I did not gain or intended to gain any advantage, if would want to do so i would not stop after first try.

Pointless discussion. I am not cheater i am not EXPLOITING any bugs, i tried bug that everyone talked about. ONCE.

I am not in that category which the guy earlier described as "maybe lets not try this at all instead of trying once it will make us better people") so i am lesser man (a cheater) in your and Blizzard eyes, which is fine.

Lets leave at it. The cats belong to microwave btw anyways:)

You knew it was unintended, you knew it could get you in trouble, you did it anyways. Enjoy your ban, cheater.

Maybe the next time you morons hear about an exploit, you'll not attempt it yourself. I knew about it and I'm not banned, because I'm not stupid enough to try it. No sympathy.

I think at 60 without the expansion, you can only run Act1-4 story mode. You won't have access to rifts or bounties, or your level 61 skills.

posted a message on Questions regarding difficulty

You might be seeing posts about the old ways of the game. Now, monsters level up alongside you, regardless of what act you're in. Before, the monsters in any given area had a static level. Since you're always killing monsters at your level, you're likely to level faster than before. The difficulties you have available are very easy. Once you level cap, you'll be able to use the higher difficulty settings and you'll die. I promise.

Also, the expansion is very much worth it. You'd be missing out on adventure mode without it, which is the most popular game type.

Solo ladder should be constructed. With every item with every stats you want. Paragon and gem levels the same for everyone. Its the only way to make it a "fair" competition based on endurance for fishing and skill. And ofc this would allow players to test more and push everything. It would dramatically shorten the time of PTR's and help to develop the game. I mean they could do this as additonal game Mode. But... yeah.. Blizzard allways need a long time to use stuff other games successfully doing for years.

There's no need for this. There's no prizes for the leaderboard, as the game is not meant to be competitive.

I do that every time, even when I fight 10mobs. Guess my class, and guess that 1 ability that does it :D.

unskill/unequip all area damage, never lag again as wd

That's only an acceptable solution if you are okay with not doing damage anymore.
You have to realize that area damage, even if the damage it causes doesn't appear on the screen, makes up most of your damage on bigger pulls, especially as a AoE-class/spec like the helltooth witch doctor. If we stay with the above example of fighting 10 grouped mobs (which is easily achievable even playing solo) and only use the 50% AD from gear, we are talking about half of our damage coming from AD. Now if we put some AD on our gear and end up around 100% AD (that's without perfectly rolled rings with crit, crit-damage and AD), we're already talking about two thirds of our damage coming from AD, which is just massive. Removing that AD is just like equipping a weapon which says "-65% damage" and being okay with it just so the lags disappear. I'm sure if unequipping AD would show up in Blizzards UI as "lol -65% damage against 10 enemies", there would be much more of an outrage.

And that's for rather small groups of 10 mobs, the damage from AD would scale exponentially with pack-size. At least almost, up to a threshold depending on enemy size and map layout, since you can't clump an infinite amount of enemies within the AD-range of each other.
Now to be honest, if we account for the AD-bug that makes one of the focus/restraint rings not work with AD, the numbers are a little but lower, but not that much, We still end up having like 42% and 60% of our damage coming from area damage in the above examples with 10 mobs.

So, I don't want to be mean or anything, but you must be realistic about what big of a hit it is to your damage output getting rid of area damage. If you just play casually, don't care about high grifts, leaderboard ranks, spots in high grift farming-groups or whatever stuff like that and just want to enjoy the helltooth builds for their fun gameplay (which in may opinion they definitely offer), then go ahead, remove AD and be happy. But if you kinda want to bring a serious damage dealer to the board then this is simply no option. You'd be better off switching to carnevil or rerolling to barb or monk.

This is untrue, from what I've read. Area damage currently does not benefit from numerous multipliers, and there is little lost in removing it from gear *and paragon points. I was unable to get past GR62 solo because of the lag. As soon as I removed AD, I pretty easily cleared 62, 63, 64, and 65. If I was missing 2/3 of my damage, there's no way I would have been able to clear a 65. Try it, the only difference you'll notice is that you can actually play.

This has been a problem since D2, and the only way to fix it there was to get an Enigma and teleport your pets with you, stacking them all up on 1 spot. Unfortunately, I don't see this as something they intend to fix.

posted a message on Looking for some tips of how I can get past GR 36
I've cleared 38, and I'm still using a Devastator. At paragon 400, I've seen 0 furnace, and 2 unusable sunkeepers. Luck plays a big factor in the higher rifts, which is unfortunate. Also, definitely second the strongarms. Those bracers make a world of difference. I would also ditch dominance at this level of grift, as things die so slowly that it's not really worth it. And on the rift guardian, it's a completely wasted passive.

Completely unavoidable damage is not fun. Especially when it one shots. I can't imagine taking my wizard past 39 without getting more toughness, as a single jailer is doing about 90% of my hp with unity and ~15m toughness. If it's a jailer blue pack, gg.
