This is a simple poll: Should bosses drop legs/sets more often?
I know Torment will make legs/sets a higher chance to drop, that bounty bags have a greater chance, and rifts well you just may get lucky same with adventure mode. Also end game bosses drop legs/sets first kill on that character if, they never have slain them before.
Also I want to point out that I wouldn't want bosses to be the number 1 way to obtain them, just like currently Blizzard would need to meet a "medium ground" to make sure that its balanced and at the same time not broken.
Maybe making bosses have a "challenge" mode making them stronger/harder to kill would be worth to do, if the leg/set drop rate was higher?
Maybe adding a cool-down timer like, once a week could make bosses have there advantages?
Maybe keeping everything as is, is the best route to go.
The vote is up to you guys, what do you think?
Should bosses drop legs/sets more often, and if so or not, how and why?
Thanks guys, hope u had a safe Merry Xmas or holiday. <3
I voted maybe, but with some sort of challenge mode worked in. I'd like them to have a higher % chance (think around 15%) to drop a leg/ set, but only after certain requirements are met; Only in Adventure mode, every mini boss in that act killed, and every bounty complete. I just do NOT want boss farming to be the best way to get drops, so there has to be some artificial barriers to make the time invested : drops equal to just hunting elite packs or just doing bounties / rifts.
I voted "No, keep it as it is right now" and with right now I'm referring to the RoS beta. If you're on story mode, and you play through an entire act, will you really stop right before the act boss just because you think his loot sucks? I don't think so.
If you do bounties, you need to kill act bosses to get the bounty bags sometimes, which is enough of an incentive. If you can't kill the act boss (sometimes Belial or Butcher are a bit hard on higher Torment levels), you should just avoid the bounties in that act altogether. It would not be wise to have bosses drop extra items such that people would only look for acts in which a boss is part of the bounty and do those.
This might have been an issue in D3V, it's not an issue in RoS anymore. Problem fixed, imho.
I was gonna vote Yes but with Cooldown Timer , then it hit me that it will simply become like dailies in WoW and that's a thing we don't want in Diablo.
But I think Bosses should have higher drop chance for legendaries if you complete a full act from start to finish when playing in Campaign , Blizzard said that Campaign and Adventure Mode will both be rewarding , but I don't see how can Campaign Mode compete with Adventure Mode in the current state of the Beta/PTR , there is nothing good in the Campaign or changed from Vanilla , Quest Rewards are still useless , and the bosses don't drop anything special , no Rifts , no Bounties , no jumping between the acts , I don't see why anybody would ever prefer to play campaign when adventure mode is available other than to see the story.
I think that they should increase the droprate on Bosses, but make it like a "Daily Bonus" sort of thing, first boss kill of the day has a MUCH higher chance to drop something awesome.
Or maybe first Bounty/Rift Boss kill of the day, to tie in with RoS.
In my opinion, killing the act boss should be the last thing you want to do before you leave the game after doing a bunch of pre-reqs to make that boss drop more goodies. They should also be extremely challenging and unpredictable in Torment.
Just give End act bosses 20% increased legendary drop chance per bounty completed per act. And remove em from the bounty list (mid bosses still as bountys)
now with 20% increase per bounty or 100% for 5 bountys per act. will only multiply the other factors.
for example bosses have 10% chance to drop a legenday with 5 bountys is now 20%. and is only applied for that act and boss.
now if you somehow manage to have 300% magic find also. it will be 10% x 4 x 2 = 80%
seems fair to me (assuming the drop chance works about like this).

The original design made sense that bosses should not really drop better loot. They are painfully predictable fights that are easily farmed.
But then the entire idea of it being a BOSS battle is defeated. It's easy and unrewarding.
I recall Belial Inferno Pre-Nerf. Do that in bad gear. THAT was a boss fight.
You cannot make a boss fight unpredictable. It's a singular creature with a set number of attacks. He can only pull out so many tricks.
Now; add a few elite affixes to these same bosses and drop more legendaries? Imagine Belial with arcane enchants or mortar or something. LOL. Or give him adds in phase 2.
Then increase his legendary drop chance? Sure.
But as they stand. No way.
I think act bosses should have a significantly increased chance(50%+) to drop a legendary the first time you kill them in any difficulty. All torment counting as a single difficulty to negate cheesing.
Beyond this I think mini bosses should have a slightly increased chance to drop a few (2-6) specific legendarys. For instance, Leoric would have a slightly better chance to drop a Leoric's Signet than anything else in the game. This chance would be, at most, like 10%. This way it is significant enough to be worth farming for these specific drops, but not significant enough where it will be something easily farmed.

Great observation about the daily quest thing - totally agree. Hated it in WoW, don't want it in D3.
I think that the developers don't really want Campaign Mode to compete with Adventure Mode; they just want to leave Campaign Mode available for people who want to play it for their own reasons - to see the story, as you mention. I, for one, expect to continue using Campaign Mode to level up new characters and then switch to Adventure Mode when I get to 60, but I guess we'll see once I actually get to try Adventure Mode. Maybe I'll never look back.

Totally agree, but they're really only "bosses" the first time you beat them as you're playing through. But after a while they end up being farmable and once that happens, in my mind, they don't really count as bosses anymore. We're talking about two ideas that are contradictory - a boss battle is a challenge and the player deserves a reward for overcoming it; farming is not challenging and so the reward can't be anything special. (Note, I'm speaking philosophically here - whether anyone actually considers the bosses to be a challenge is not relevant - it's the rationale that matters).
To me, the first-time legendary is a fair compromise.
