I'm curious. Does anyone know if stacks/mf affect the chances of keys dropping? Haven't seen anything anywhere about it that I know of...
It took me just one try with 5 NV stacks to get the key from the Act 3 Keywarden (MP6). However, it took me about 20 tries under the same conditions, other than MP5, to get the key from the Act 1 Keywarden. I guess RNG is still doing its thing here.
Given the absurd HP values of the top end Monster Power levels, I can imagine they're stupid difficult for glass cannon characters. You would need a build that either can tank everything or lets you indefinitely keep yourself from getting hit since there's no way you can count on killing them quickly. And for the people who can do MP10 there's no way it's efficient, it seems pretty poorly conceived.
(looking at your build, you have zero defensive skills! that just ain't gonna work)

I fully agree. I was really looking forward to MP, but was really disappointed after I tried it.
It is either back to a boring-tanky-turtle-forever style of gameplay with a very little reward for the time invested, or the same streamroll I'm doing now.
i too was finally able to stay logged in last nite. Like everyone else, i went and tried lvl 10 first. Stupid hard. I played with my monk as well. I was disappointed that the Won khim Lau that i bought a couple days ago wasnt included with my character copy, but it was a dps drop anyways. I decided i wanted to farm keys on MP 4. Level 4 isnt that challenging. Its a very slight increase in monster hp from the current patch. So, i went to Fields of Misery, killed the key warden about 7 times, no key. So, i went to Act 2 to the Oasis. And i found the key warden dune dervish guy. He killed me the first time cause i was caught off guard and had no idea what he did other than spin. Went back and destroyed him the 2nd try. Like the people that made it on before the weekend, he didnt just die when the health bar emptied. but i kept beating on him just to see how long i could spawn cyclones. about 10 -20 seconds later, dude finally dies in animation and drops the items, to include the key of hate.

But i did run across a new shrine...."Fleeting Shrine" gives you 25% more Movement Speed. So, piled on top of my normal 10%, i was hauling butt. It was fun as hell.
At my dps, ~83k on WD, my reaction after a bit of Act I/II/III farming on monster levels 3-5 tells me, ML 3-4 is going to be the sweet spot for now. Even at lvl 5, felt the difference in kill time extending to a point where the extra magic find won't balance it. That said, at lvls 3 to 4, still felt very close, good extra magic find as a bonus at roughly same kill speed as 1.0.4.
To net it out, bonus magic find just for hitting patch and the ability to farm Acts I and II in addition to Act III. Act IV due to size is probably still not efficient / viable. Extra bonus of Infernal Machine stuff -- only have 1 key so far from Act III (had maybe 2 or 3 stacks of Valor when I got it). Also came across Act II warden by no drop.
Sweet baby Jesus - the "iLvL 58" thing has to do with the rolling of higher iLvL affixes based on monster level only. It does not mean you won't see iLvl 57 and lower items dropping.
So: iLvL 58+ items will roll affixes based on the monster level that dropped them. iLvL 57- will remain unchanged in Inferno.
Why do people insist on reading between the lines when there's nothing there?

What are you smoking?
Think they are limiting items to 58 and above in Inferno. Correct!

"Items below iLevel 58 no longer drop in Inferno difficulty."
Blizzard might have trouble speaking clearly sometimes but I think this one is pretty on the nose.

Now that they've clarified it's a bug, I see that I read it wrong initially.
Attempted Monster Level 10 in my current state. Impossible.
Attempted Monster Level 8 in my current state. Nearly impossible.
Decided to stick with Monster Level 6 for the sake of challenge/efficiency balance.
The majority of the drops were pretty average for their level, though there were some standout examples that I wasn't quite used to seeing.
And a rather quick set drop of mediocre stats:
Then I managed to find this guy:
And you can see I died a few times to him. One, I had no idea what he could do. Two, 14 mil HP and kills me in four hits.
But I did manage to get one of the keys, so let's see where this goes...
Also ran into the new Empowerment Shrine and a new property that adds bonus HP recovery to potions. That might come in handy.
Overall impression: Monster Level is scary.
Edit: Currently getting annihilated by Act 1's Keywarden on Monster Level 5.

nice images and stuff +1
A set mob drops the keys. It's not a random mob.

I also found an iLvl 57 blue ring. Not sure if the lvl 58 thing only applies to rares and higher or what
