i agree that the further in acts you go the better the gear, but im just saying that inferno dropping anything that is sub lvl 60 is dumb since you have to be 60 to get there.
and ya killing diablo on inferno was a disapointment got a 61 sheild and 53 bow
An argument can be made that items in inferno get more points on the roll so an ilvl 53 item that drops in inferno will be much better than an ilvl 53 item dropped in hell, so if you want to farm gear to level your alts that seems like a good place to do it.
The lower range is definitely far too low, but you can't have everything dropping in Inferno be good/ilvl 61-63. I have seen 52s myself, but I'd love if Inferno didn't drop anything lower than 57 or 58.
I don't think it really matters that much tbh, if you're killing anything in Inferno you want ilvl 63 drops, which have a fixed percentage. The rest is basically AH fodder (61-62) or garbage (60 and lower)

I actually said almost exactly this to a friend yesturday.
57 min in Act 1, 58 min in Act 2, 59 min in Act 3 and Act 4 gets 60+.
If they made it 60+ only, they would need to tweak the drop rates again....
But are you talking about ilvl 60+ or lvl 60 gear.... cause if it's 60 gear (ilvl 61) you would see the prices of essences plummet as well.... as everything you can salvage will be giving ex essence and chances at fiery brimstone.
Realistically, what's the difference between a terrible ilvl 60 item and an ilvl 50 item? Just the gold value. Really, this complaint is meaningless.
It's obvious that sub 60 items drop as a limiter to the amount of high level gear you find. If inferno dropped nothing but 60+ items, you'd end up finding a lot more quality items and making more gold from selling them both on the AH and to vendors. If Blizzard wanted it, rest assured that it would be that way.
It's not fun to find level 50 items, but it's a balancing mechanic. Get used to it.
Well, everyday, there are less and less people online from my friend list, people just got bored of this gear grind, its all gear dependent, mainly resist, and there's 0 mechanic in the game. lets face it, you have low chance of getting 61-63 items, and when you get them, the chance of getting a decent stat item is even lower, and probably not for your class. And then people who don't have good luck finding items, will eventually broke from spending too much on repair bills, because they don't have gold or gears to begin with. The only option available for them now is to use the RMAH, for which most people think its dumb to spend RL gold to buy digital pixels.
well, a lot of ppl are discouraged after u finally kill like 5+ packs of elites in act 3, then u get lvl 55 items, u just want to throw them away without even identifying them
like the mob is so hard to kill already, a lvl 63 mob dropping lvl 50 item, is a slap on ur face, so spending all those time and effort killing it net you nothing but repair bill
On my farming routes, I usually kill AT LEAST 1 champion pack every 2 minutes. Sometimes even way way faster if I'm lucky to find many. (This is based on my personal statistics with a data base of a few hundred runs in different acts)
An average champion pack will drop 2 rares. Bosses usually drop more, then there's loot from chests/regular mobs.
So all in all we can easily assume you get one rare item every 40-60 seconds, maybe less.
For the average D3 player that sums up to a few hundred rare items during an evening of farming.
Imagine what would happen if drop rates and affix/stat rolles were changed.
You act like there's a good chance in finding a good item from an un-ided ilvl 60+ rare. It's a bit disheartening to first get lucky enough to get a good ilvl drop and then have it be complete crap anyway. I don't like the 2 layers of randomness personally.
Mentally, all it does is create disappointment and leads to items that drop that you know don't even have the possibility to be good. It's like buying a lotto scratch ticket at the gas station but when they give it to you, it's already scratched off and it's a loser

Yes, but to be fair, mentally we tend to feel most rewarded when we have to put SOME effort into the system to get our rewards. You can't just argue that "not getting 63s is no fun" and say that's the reason that once you get to Act 1 Normal all loot should be 63s that you can equip starting at level 1.
I understand that triple-RNG is rough (iLevel, item type, stat rolls) but... really... what's the alternative? If you made Inferno 61+ there would be people foaming at the mouth that they got HORRIBLE 61s in Act 3. Eventually the inmates are running the Asylum and Act 1 is dropping nothing but 63s and they're all guaranteed rares.
The drop rates really aren't that bad right now. I go on my cold and hot streaks just like anyone else. But without the cold streaks the hot streaks don't seem nearly as awesome, and I really like what it feels like to be riding the wave at a high point, so I cope with the low points.
Blizzard philosophy: 11 years to release the game, 2-5 years to perfect it, then release an expansion lol
Player philosophy: Complain and whine about various parts of the game and demand a change; complain and whine after changes have been made. Buy the expansion and continue to play the game for years.
Not trolling you, just thought we'd explore both sides to the story

Why do people keep crying about this?
It was the same in D2.........for cripes sake...take what falls....bad luck is bad luck.
BTW: They have maxi-pads buy one get one free at Wal-Mart this week. I suggest you invest heavily in sanitary napkins. It sounds as if you need them

The difference is that lower items were still useful in D2 though....

actually I find that iLVL59 and lower weapons to be more useful or net me more gold than iLVL60-62. iLVL60-62 weapons (excluding small percentage of 1h mace and swords) are complete crap lol.
