Attack Speed and Patch 1.0.4
Today was the launch of 1.0.3 and with this patch new legendaries should have working attack speed affixes on them. However old legendaries still may have the bugged affix. This will be fixed in patch 1.0.4. It currently looks as if patch 1.0.4 will be a bug fix patch.
For reference, the 1.0.3 Patch Notes can be found here. Thanks guys!

Are You Happy With 1.0.3?
With the official patch notes out there have been a lot of mixed feelings about patch 1.0.3 due to the higher level items dropping in the earlier acts, more bosses having enrage timers, and magic find not being calculated for some objects, and more. What are your thoughts?
I'm loving the patch. Pre-patch I was able to blaze though A1 inferno NO problems at all, then A2 I would get roflstompped. Now I can solo A2 and only skip like 1/5 of the champion packs that have gay affix's. I love the 5 neph. stack buff too, makes you WANT to farm the entire act.
I'm loving this patch. Had lots of fun playing through act 2 inferno with my friend. Difficulty was perfect, just hard enough to make us work, but not too much that it's just stupid stuff.
I voted Hit and Miss even though my reaction is more like 60% Positive 40% Negative right now (and I'll be more positive on these changes in the future - I'm just qqing over having to give up my IAS weapon).
Positives:
The bug fixes were VERY needed (IAS fixed on new legendaries, some rubberbanding fixes, general chat perference stays between sessions, report spam now mutes the player reported, Lyceum spawns now, etc etc)
Technically, this is a bug fix... but: DOT SPELLS CAN CRIT! HOORAY!
Better balanced loot tables for Inferno
Negatives:
IAS Nerf. This needed to happen but it still sucked that it had to happen. It really screwed up the economy and probably fucked over a lot of players (luckily I sold my IAS weapons when the patch hit the Blizzard servers last week and was datamined).
Magic find on chests/environment nerf. I want botters punished and I'm not a big fan of people chain-farming one location in 1-minute long games for 10+ hours, but there has to be better solution than this. Every time I go up to a chest or other object, it just doesn't feel the same.
Not technically a negative but I am disappointed that they still didn't fix major, obvious bugs like the Oppressors hitting targets twice with Charge or the fact that the Battlefield Reports don't spawn.
This blanket nerf to chests/vases/corpses is just over the top and could have been dealt with a lot better.
I'm pretty sure this is entirely down to cost/benefit. Other solutions would have required much more resources, and much more time. In the case of botting, Blizzard can't really afford to take too long. I'd like to think that a more elegant solution will appear in a later patch, and chests will go back to being fun again, but in the meantime it's really down to botters forcing Blizzard to choose between crappy options.
I like the patch. I cleared the whole game without skipping more then a handful of packs which are just stupid for wizards, so I got to experience it all pre-nerf. Now I'm just having fun with my barbarian facerolling act 2 and my wizard will be unaffected by the ias nerf since he only had crit. I guess most of the people who don't like the patch are people who can't stack a clearly OP stat anymore and and get 90k DPS, and people who didn't manage to clear the game on inferno but really wanted to pre-nerf.
As a monk (feels no pain) I was hurt by the attack speed nerf, luckily my ias was lowered in the past few weeks so I felt it less than I would have a week or two ago. However my one BIG complaint was the double nerf to chests and barrels. I know that people were farming locations and hell I even tried a few...but I got bored because even though Diablo is a loot driven game I can't just do simple run here open chest reset game games. It's not fun imo. But the fact that you first mention MF/GF will not effect chests and destructible objects and then later in the notes state destructible objects will no longer drop items is irritating to me just at a logical level. Why tell me MF doesn't work with barrels if you're going to outright remove all items from the barrels, that was more of a persona irritation on preference. However I feel like some of the charm of the game is lost by this however, I always described the game to people who were unfamiliar with it as a game where you can get the best item in the game by kicking over a barrel. And that no longer stands true :(. I always loved that concept of the game, and even though I guess some people found sweet barrel spots to farm or something, I never heard of any, the removal of MF/GF effecting it should have been enough imo. However, now I feel like things like Resplendant chests need a slight buff to their loot tables. A giant glowing chest doesn't feel the same when i open 6 of them through an act 1 clear and get a total of 1 rare. OH! I forgot there is a second MAJOR gripe that I have that has made a lot of events and stuff useless. Unique mobs no longer garunteed to drop 2 blues...well they currently drop NOTHING, I killed a bunch last night ranging from quest mobs, to event mobs, to rare mobs and the BEST drops I got was 2 blues off one. The majority of them dropped nothing, no items and no gold, some dropped a few piles of gold. If this is the case why do these mobs exist? I know people were farming them in Act 4, but please don't nerf something that is/can be challenging to kill to absolute uselessness because people found a few spots to farm.
theres bugs in that thar patch!!! a shit ton of them, wow...
personally my friends logged in with me last night, decided to farm act 4 inf a bit. got bored really fast after getting to the first boss and having our dh get 1shotted due to low resists on the pounce (lol) and then getting some silly packs that take forever (minions...) to die while farming for stacks. so we logged and just did the auction house, which is honestly a much more efficient way to 'farm' than farming anything in the actual game.... buy runspeed boots for 4m, sell for $112 on the RLAH?? OK !
i mean why login at all except to visit your stash to craft? you can make huge profit just staring at and moving items between both AHes. maybe when prices go down, i will actually play the game again. for now though honestly, its wasted time when you could be making free ingame/rl$ on the AH. and not an insubstantial amount either!
OH AND Bashiok wow! way to trololol on your twitter and then have to reel it back in. WHY has blizzard not learned from Emonix five years ago?? Every CM they get is a completely butthurt-vulnerable minion. These guys are worse than the regular posters. They take troll bait all day long, troll horribly themselves and give such awful responses to community concerns that I'd honestly prefer they just stay quiet and develop internally without any interaction.
I don't mind the inferno nerf. I don't mind the attack speed nerf. I don't even mind the increase in repair costs (although they could lower this just a wee bit. 10-20% less painful).
What sucks is the nerf to chests/corpses/destructible objects. That really makes the game less enjoyable.
I voted No. I feel like the changes are mostly good, but the patch regressed the game in so many places, it's frustrating. There's tons of new bugs that weren't even there before, which, as a network engineer that goes through quality control processes, blows my fucking mind.
I think I'm most frustrated by the exponential cost of repairs on high-level gear. I *hate* finishing my run and having to spend 30,000 of the gold I just farmed on repairs. I understand the reason they added this, but it was the wrong fix, or simply too much of an increase in my opinion. I know there's math to support their reasoning, but the fact is that it has impacted the amount of fun I'm having by a wide margin. It just gets worse when you meet a pack that kills you- You can actually quantify the 'cost per death' at this point, and it hurts a significant amount.

I personally wish everything was way harder. I want to make more profits =P
