from my experience this item could fetch around $30 on the RLAH, or slightly more if nothing better or similar is up at the time :) be fast though, item prices are plummeting with increased drop rates

I literally admire Bashiok and Lylirra they are responding to such posts.

I know what you mean, but unfortunately they are just giving fuel to the fire. direct interaction with the playerbase is a bad thing. blizzard needs to shut up and stop replying. let us wonder what they're thinking. let us post the long ass conspiracy theory crap and dont reply to it at all. and stop posting in the pony threads and the song lyric threads. - that just lets the complainers know you're reading their shit but not doing anything about it. instead it looks like you're wasting time rewriting carly jepsen lyrics instead of fixing your broken ass game.

a few blue responses to huge bulleted lists of complaining makes everyone feel entitiled to a response to their own personal bulleted complaint list. bashiok especially often trolls people and gives sarcastic responses that just make people angrier. sometimes they're funny and sometimes i go 'wow, what a douche' because he does it to someone that really was being sincere and didn't deserve it.

it used to be very rare to hear from a dev team except at pre scheduled house of commons/chatlog sessions, IRC visits, etc. the rest of the time they were... well... developing! there were no 'community managers' whose entire job it is to act as a liason between the team and the players. all the community managers manager to do is piss off the community. they're a distraction at best, which i think is honestly what they're there to be.

bashiok brought it on himself being eyonix version 2. i can't really feel bad for him - he fans the flames more often than not. he did give some decent answers in that set of blues though. i try to stay excited and look forward to sitting down to some d3 at night after my workday and afterwork BS is over with, to relax... but its been difficult since i spend almost all of my time on the AH now=P ive completed inferno.

diablo 3 is not as bad as everyone says it is, but its still a pretty huge disappointment. it took a few weeks for that to set in after everyone got over the initial hype - many people clearly feel duped and let down. the way blizzard is handling the community is not helping. the community is also out of control - worst ive ever seen on the official forums..

what do you think your whole set has run you so far? or would be worth in gold even? just curious as i have shoulders right around yours, maybe a little bit worse but exact same roll with lower values. got them up on the RLAH and theyre already bid up around 38 bucks with a whole day left. =P

i know you're a tank but i don't know how you guys play without runspeed. i am just that bad i guess!!

i put my wiz suit up to resell (its maybe... 60% as good as yours) and was amazed at what i might end up getting for it. basically i keep buying suits after deciding to try playing for five minutes and realizing over and over again that farming a4 inf is boring and annoying compared to just making tons of money reselling on the AH. i then resell my suit again for profit. then a few days go by and i go 'hmm maybe ill try playing with an even BETTER suit this time' and re-buying.... rinse repeat.

in the end it seems my suits keep getting more and more valuable and the game keeps staying not fun. haha. oh well im sure blizzards happy with their commissions from me =P

please don't QQ he is easy 5 stack farmable now. clear the desert, get 5stack, kill ZK (1shot his weak ass), clear to belial. even in 2p the snakes take 4 hits to kill me now.

i wasn't even arcane strongbuild. i was using classic venom +area blizzard. me and my freshly nerfed DH friend both died during the fight and we still 1shotted belial.

he was around 37k dps down from 70k and i was at 41k down from 58 or so.
5% IAS left for me, about 15% for him after nerf.

my stats: 400-500RI, 25k hp, 41kdps sheet selfbuffed WIZ

if you're melee and too low dps... well, you can live forever now. his smash takes well geared monks to like 70% now. used to 1shot everyone =P

bring a ranged buddy he'll die fast!

d3 isn't the worst thing in the world or anything, but it certainly is a let down.

i wouldn't say its a minority this time... the official forums are unreadable. TBH i am very disappointed with the game as a whole after inferno.i got to act 4 before any nerfs, in only 130 hours... very casually honestly. i was a wiz ofc but i was a crit stacker with only 17% IAS. all i did was buy up silly deals on the AH and resell them for huge profits early on after release. it wasn't hard to find a few great amulets from level 44 newbies in the first week for 100k each, then relist them a week later after all the cookie cutter builds were out for millions. not hard, and not really fun either. definitely not what i'd consider 'great gameplay.'

it wasn't that hard to do inferno thru act 4. it was just annoying. i am a 10+ year veteran 'AH player' in tons of MMOs since Ultima Online, so i planned way ahead for the auction house and did well on it right away. i don't even login to the game now, i just play the AH. it is more fun, and less time wasted than the actual game... which is a real shame =(

its one thing to be tempted to buy items to compete in a game because the game is FUN and awesome to play. its another thing to feel OBLIGATED to buy items just to be able to play the crappy game AT ALL. nobody wants that, not even me - and im profiting from it!!

OH AND Bashiok wow! way to trololol on your twitter and then have to reel it back in. WHY has blizzard not learned from Emonix five years ago?? Every CM they get is a completely butthurt-vulnerable minion. These guys are worse than the regular posters. They take troll bait all day long, troll horribly themselves and give such awful responses to community concerns that I'd honestly prefer they just stay quiet and develop internally without any interaction.

theres bugs in that thar patch!!! a shit ton of them, wow...

personally my friends logged in with me last night, decided to farm act 4 inf a bit. got bored really fast after getting to the first boss and having our dh get 1shotted due to low resists on the pounce (lol) and then getting some silly packs that take forever (minions...) to die while farming for stacks. so we logged and just did the auction house, which is honestly a much more efficient way to 'farm' than farming anything in the actual game.... buy runspeed boots for 4m, sell for $112 on the RLAH?? OK !

i mean why login at all except to visit your stash to craft? you can make huge profit just staring at and moving items between both AHes. maybe when prices go down, i will actually play the game again. for now though honestly, its wasted time when you could be making free ingame/rl$ on the AH. and not an insubstantial amount either!

Now if you roll dex on a 2h it's not completely worthless because monks can use all 2h weapons now

in my experience anyway weapons have just not been worth rolling with BS. waaay too many great rolls ruined by a 500dps sheet damage. but i know some people have good luck with crossbows...

also: you'll want to constant spam trade/general that you're buying Fine/Grand armor patterns. spam the forums too. you never know when you'll find a newb willing to sell you grand vambraces for like 5m. they routinely go for 20 :)

the first patterns you'll wanna buy that are cheap but actually worth rolling:
    grand wiz hat
the fine glove pattern if you get lucky and find it cheap (gogo crit/crit dmg!!)
    fine heaven strand (belt)
grand wiz source spheres whatever they're called
    grand ghost sight

all are usually under 1m per pattern, and i've rolled 25% +life ghost sights(socketed with 8% natural or higher) with resist all, dex, and spirit regen that i've gotten 15m for.

its luck guys, but with good tradin' skillz and book keeping you can almost always, if nothing else, break even. with the new repair costs i can't say the same for farming a3 anymore =P

blacksmith requires some cash to make work.

a few hundred dollars in mats or gold or items or a combo of them, privately traded through sources from forums like epicnpc and carefully resold can start a snowball rolling. if you are patient and willing to get the calculator and google docs out, you can make a little cash or at LEAST end up fully gearing your character for free. blacksmithy is a great way to do this QUICKLY. sure its a bummer to blow 2m rolling the dice and get a bunch of shitty strength belts, but that ONE nasty item that sells in five minutes at 30m makes it worth it.

for me, this is a lot less painful than grinding 1 goblin for three days and hoping i get a nice legendary neck while being DC'd constantly by blizzards shitty servers and losing valor stacks farming, and other crap out of my control. it takes no effort to simply trade on the forums at lower prices than the AH lists and make some good connections, then start up the conveyor belt crafting factory :)

but, to each his own. and yes, i do agree that the game is most definitely geared towards AH-minded players. its been said to death but really it is the entire point of the game now. tbh if i did not like active trading and the auction house very much, i would've already stopped playing =P

there are ways to make money with smithy. they require luck. if you prefer playing the AH to farming, might i suggest five and six property heaven strands :)

now is a great time to gamble on smithy, as the IAS changes have made formerly less than stellar items more valuable.
try rolling a 155sta/mainstat 60 resist all belt with some magic find and live% for a massive 15m+ even if you strike out on like twenty belts beforehand. it takes a large initial investment and some luck, but after hundreds of rolls i'm up on the AH, and it has not been nearly as tedious as farming the same damn goblin for 30 hours. i never thought i'd say this, but standing at the smithy naked except for runspeed gear and rolling 2 million in high end items is actually more exciting than playing the game on inferno =P

im in act 4 inferno, but with the RLAH prices i am selling ALL my gear for cash and starting over when things are much cheaper in a month or so. also this:)

or because im a wiz, i might just sell my accnt and play something else =P d3 was fun for a few weeks but it just feels silly to keep grinding it just for the AH. i may as well do that in an MMO, where the money is a lot better and the time invested is more worthwhile.

posted a message on What do you think the gold/$ exchange rate will be 1 month after RMAH launch?
it will probably about $1/mil right out of the gate. day one you might see 5-6 per mil but judging just by ancedotal evidence and the prices over the last few weeks... itll be cheap and quickly. of course this will be nice for avoiding the upgraded repair costs and buying potions... but by the time RMAH ACTUALLY debuts, we'll probably all be farming a4 inferno and 1shotting everything =P

hell, tons of people are already. i'm a pretty casual player and i'm only a few upgrades away.
