"Nah, good/careful players won't be spending that much more."

Only baddies spend lots of money on the AH? A lot of people play the AH more then the game and makes a ton of gold (and real money). If they want to get the current BiS items on the AH for insane prices they should be able to do that without being labelled stupid by Blizzard.

They can't fix everything in one patch, what would keep people coming back every time a new patch arrives? Oh, and lets not forget all the bugs they add to to the game each patch.

    those belts win!

Shouldn't some frenzy +dmg be preferred instead of strength? +10% frenzy is pretty much +10% DPS.

Ahh, this is the Blizzard we all know and ... love. Adding stuff in one patch only to remove it in the next, treating live servers as beta servers. Really, everybody should get the beta FoS because that's the state the game is still in. They seriously can't have a internal testing team, or those guys should all get fired and replaced by anything. At this state I think a toaster could do a better job.

In D2 people used lvl 10 uniques at lvl 90. Some of them were that good. And they dropped from normal Andariel as well as from hell Baal. Most of the time the uniques you got were worthless. 99% rares were worthless. In D3 only around 80% of the rare drops are worthless and atm most of the legendaries are worthless. But they are buffing them, so fix is coming.

So I can't really understand dem haters yelling "OMG IN D2 DIS AND DAT! PLXZ BRING US DAT YOU STUUPID BLIZZURD! MAKE DROPS BETTER PLZX!"

Well, D2 had a lot of unique stats on gear that could make low level stuff really good. The only thing that comes close in D3 for me as a wizard are those lvl 44 pants with movement speed that pretty much is BiS until you can get some lvl 60 set pants with movement speed. For melee it is String of Ears, with it's 20% melee reduction, which is lvl 52 yeah? I have yet to see any low level sets with awesome set bonuses, but I can be wrong about that I guess.

I really can't stand Bashiok. Like when Krippi and his noob barb friend killed Diablo on hardcore. Why even make a snide comment without any facts, especially a wrong one? I've had enough of this game, I might stick around and help my friend finish the game before we move on to something else. Made the money I paid for the game back on RMAH so overall I still think it's been a good experience. Was a great game up to inferno pretty much, had some fun there too but overall I've never found so many flaws in a game. Which is funny, considering it's been in development for 12 years, they had a solid concept to build on since it's pretty much just an upgrade from D2 and Blizzard in the past have been considered one of the absolute best developers in the world.

posted a message on *UPDATE* Gearing for the most efficient use of force armor
    Quote from Morphos

    Quote from InverseLogic

Isn't it far better to just go for % resist rune now?

No, I don't believe so. I outlined my reasoning for this here: http://www.diablofan...010#entry925010

At the time I made that posts I had no idea how hard the nerf was going to be, but I think the points I made there still hold true. Given that the topend damage for phasebeasts is now 127k, you would need 363k EHP to take 35% of your health in damage without force armor. If the 25% modifier for elites is correct, you would need 453k EHP to take hits of 35% of your life without force armor. This is compared to 94k/117.5k, so about 3.85 times as much EHP just to get on equal footing with force armor.

For comparison thats the difference between 26.5k HP, 4000 armor, and 300 resists (117.5k EHP) vs 34.6k HP, 6000 armor and 1100 (453k EHP!) resists. And thats just to get back to being EQUAL to force armor, obviously you would need more to exceed it, and a lot more to really notice a difference.

That is true, but at the same time with the prismatic rune you can take single big hits without getting one-shot. I'll still use Force Armor because I was already pretty close to not being able to get one-shot by anything pre-nerf, but if you're having troubles with say Diablo's fireball one-shotting you Prismatic can help you to just about survive it. So you go from being 3-shot by 80% of all attacks and 1-shot by 20% to being 2-shot by 50% and 3- to 5-shot by 50%. Numbers are ofc not real, just wanted to give an idea of where I'm going.

posted a message on Attack Speed and Patch 1.0.4, "Confirmed" World First Hardcore Inferno Diablo Kill, 1.0.3 Bug List, Poll
I like the patch. I cleared the whole game without skipping more then a handful of packs which are just stupid for wizards, so I got to experience it all pre-nerf. Now I'm just having fun with my barbarian facerolling act 2 and my wizard will be unaffected by the ias nerf since he only had crit. I guess most of the people who don't like the patch are people who can't stack a clearly OP stat anymore and and get 90k DPS, and people who didn't manage to clear the game on inferno but really wanted to pre-nerf.

posted a message on IAS % Nerf and loosing 20k dps
    Quote from asavirus

Surely crit damage and increased attack speed would have to result in similar damage? If people start stacking crit damage it will be IAS stacking all over again apart from with crit. Then the nerf patch will come in resulting in a crit nerf because "people felt like it was an essential stat" so they said for IAS. I think the damage out come of IAS will be similar to crit damage in patch 1.03?

Crit doesn't give an insane amount of DPS, and most pieces can't roll higher then 5% crit unlike ias where you could have 17% on a ring lol. You also need a lot of crit damage for it to be really good. With ias you just needed ias and your primary stat and you were set. I think and hope Blizzard is okay with either crit or ias being a required stat as long as they don't overshadow the primary stat by too much like ias currently do.

    Quote from blujay

This nerf is going to directly damage my character's main source of both survivability and damage. I have no idea what the fuck they are thinking. They want a non-mandatory stat, well gee fucking whiz retards, now I have to have it on literally every fucking item, because without a high IAS I can't stutter-step and kite-cast to stay alive. Basically, this patch says "caster classes are faggots, suck a dick". Less time casting and more time running meant less time dead, and now I have no idea what the hell we're supposed to do if it takes ~1s instead of ~.5s to turn and drop a Blizzard or Grasp of the Dead.

Yes, he mad. They literally just reached in my pocket and pulled out 15,000 DPS. Whose fucking idea was this?

Blah blah blah. I play a wizard and I find it ultra boring that attack speed is so damn good. I've cleared Inferno including almost every pack and Diablo with 1.2 speed, I think you'll do fine after the patch when they nerf act 2-4 at the same time.

posted a message on Guides for Iskantu, Rakanoth and Izual Inferno Solo (Post Nerf)
Cheers man, I was already past the first boss but used your tactic for Rakanoth successfully. I tried your tactic, but not the exact build, for Izual and found myself being one-shot by his ice blast (at ~50% hp). I ended up using the Familiar again, staying at 10% hp and never being hit by anything but his AoE blast. I don't know if Blur would make any difference, I really don't have much resistance or vitality.

Instead of Blizzard I used Orb with Tap the Source, and I also used Mirror Images to help soak the charges from the adds and keep him in place so I could spam orb. Anyways, would not have come up with the build for Izual if not for your Rakanoth build, thanks!
