I like that he promised the Bard is not the fifth class. That might mean that they have 2 or 3 classes right now that they are choosing from, or that they have already chosen the 5th.
ok, i take this back. I was getting Bard mixed up with Druid. Obviously we wouldn't have a singing class.
"...
One of the big ones is that we don?t allow hostility anymore. It?s just not part of the game. We had talked about all kinds of ways to introduce it and control it, but ultimately we haven?t found very many people who want it. We did a survey of our users who played the game at BlizzCon. We left out survey stations so they could give us feedback about what they thought of the game and what they were excited about. The lowest-scoring thing on the list of things they were excited about was PVP. It was around 3%."
I was at Blizzcon ok and all I said was PvP. Now Blizzcon had est 20k people..wow thats all the people that play Diablo buddy? Now how many of the people at Blizzcon were there for SC or WC? Lets cut that number in 1/3 now. So that leaves 6666.6 so lets say 6667 people for Diablo...even tho I know it was much lower. Now let's say 3% of that said yes to pvp so...200 people said they wanted pvp out of the 6667...or lower people that were there for Diablo. That tells us what about Blizzards fanbase? That it is VERY VERY shallow? Or that this survey means...nothing?
Now another thing to point out is that USEast is the dueling capital of Diablo and always has been, Blizzcon is on the west...hmm? Lets see here now, EAST = Dueling... WEST = sub par dueling and pro PvM...soo lets go survey EVERYONE in the east only and lets see what % you recieve shall we?
K lets go take a survey with 20k people about what does chicken taste like. Oh only 3% said chicken tasted good...damn chicken must be the worst food in the world.
You can't take just 20k people and which of that more then half most likely arn't real fans of the series and say this is factual research. This is sad research and it should be taken with a grain of salt. I am so convinced that you and everyone else on Diablofans and the developers are horrid at Diablo. You guys struggle with Monsters on Diablo, you can't hold your own to any duel, why is it that you play again?
It sounds like the question was, 'what aspects of D3 are you most excited about?' The other 97% of those polled who didn't mention pvp don't necessarily hate or feel indifferent to pvp. Maybe they even like pvp, they're just not as excited about it at this point as they are about some of the other features of D3.
Imagine, people were filling out this poll after playing the demo. Correct me if I'm wrong but pvp wasn't part of the demo. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people who were polled were mostly excited about features present in the demo that they liked. If I played the demo and I liked the way quests were handled, I would've used the poll as an opportunity to tell them so. Same thing goes for the graphics, character classes, monsters, map layout, orb things instead of the potions, whatever. There are already LOTS of features of D3 to be excited about!
My point is that if an exciting new pvp system was also part of the demo, then certainly more players would have been excited about pvp in D3, and that would have been reflected in the polls.
At any rate, you can't take this data and come to the conclusion that people hate pvp. Thats obviously not true, and if you read the quote, thats not the conclusion that blizzard is drawing. The quote goes on to say:
What we?d rather do is create a PVP game that?s more inclusive of a larger audience. We want something that?s a great PVP game that a lot of people in our audience can really enjoy.
Sounds to me like blizzard intends to include in D3 a great pvp game that is really enjoyable. I think we can all agree that this is a good thing. If you don't like that they may be catering to their fanbase a little bit (as opposed to just you) then just consider, if more people are going to want to pvp, then there will be that many more people for you to kill
Don't be a meaner because they're making the game easier to play for the less skilled. I have to wear a helmet and arm floaties by law before I log onto Diablo due to my proness. Vlad youre a biatch and I don't like your ways, you always pickin on us pvm type cause we arent very good. I tried to duel but my magic found gear isnt good enough to hang wit da haxzors so na na na boo boo to you cause u cant getz me in a pw'd safe game. You'll never getz me and I voted against player killers and dueling in all forms because I cant get good enough to do it so im angry. Let them be... you....you meaner so they can design the game handicapped so we can play. and feel good. oooooo just thinking about u pkin my monsters and me while im proing it up gets my CRANKY!! I hate mr. means like you I have a 10k dmg necro with summons and if I wanted id kill you but your all haxed out theres no way you can be good at diablo without hacks if I cant be. So im glad their making this game for the lower less skilled types such as all of us so we can enjoy ourselves. Also when my handicapped 3 year old brother wants to play he can play too and be just as good as me...cause im the best and you'll soon find that out when you cant hax me you sob!

Watching 240 guys talk trash about cavaliers is like two retards having a slapfight over a sippy cup.
Im not dorge. I just have similar feelings about things such as this. but now that these sobs cant actually kill me i can prove im good. I always go out there and pwn monsters but then some ass decides to kill me for no reason even if I hostile him for fun hes all trying to kill me and stuff. So I sit in town and just talk smack til he leaves, he calls me a few bad words but im the winner cause Im pro. I sit in safe zone talking to npcs while hes all angry outside being a meaner. these guys do kill monsters and players good though so i guess you can optimize character but I bet its hax that make em good. like I said i was happy to hear about no pvp or duels or pk. i like farming coins and items anyways. Its about time they made a game that poor kids can play and not feel bad about their skills, items, character all day cuse they are beaten by other players. Seems im not alone on this, everyone here dreamt of the same game where we can safely farm coins and kill mobs without being called a newb. this is a new begining for diablo now it can compete with games like runescape and tibia and other games that cater to those just looking to have fun and not get harrassed. Big kid games like lineage and diablo 1&2 are for meaners and I speak for everyone when I say YAY NO MORE MEANERS!!
PVP is the greatest aspect of diablo2 and atm it's basically the number 1 thing I care about in D3 so i'm hoping they make it freaken awesome and don't mess things up. I've played D2 for yearssss and the only reason why I played for nearly as long as I did was because of PVP. If it wasn't because of PVP I would have probably quit d2 5+years ago because the storyline is so easy and once you finish it there is nothing to do except find more items but what good is finding more items if you can already beat all difficulties, the only reason to find more items is to get more godly so you can then pvp. So please blizz don't overlook pvp, it's the sole reason why me, and im pretty certain many others played for as long as we have and d2 has lasted for so long.
plus I don't just want some little pvp arena, it's so simple, all we need is an option when creating a game, that way everyone is happy. plus don't mean to be offensive or anything but I just have to say this idk why so many ppl complain about being pk'ed. I've played for 7years or so and probably only been randomly cheaply pk'ed without any warning maybe like 5 times and what, I lost some gold...oh no!
My point is that if an exciting new pvp system was also part of the demo, then certainly more players would have been excited about pvp in D3, and that would have been reflected in the polls.

I do agree that it sounds like they are going to implement a better pvp system, and i'm sure that more people would have marked that in the survey if it were included in the demo.
I'm actually really excited about a new pvp sytem! I think it will be cool if they have pvp tournaments set up, and other types of duals including player groups vs. monsters, and player groups vs. other player groups.
I guess what I was trying to say before, is that this quote

Gotta love how carebear the developers are, it's kinda sad. The way they talk it doesn't even sound like they have played Diablo 1 or 2 for that matter, but if they want a co-op mainly game then have at it, enjoy your high sales day 1 then enjoy watching your game crumble cause you fail to put in adequet pvp measures for your real fan base.
seams close-minded to me. I think that pvp can be great, but most people will be playing co-op.
Your to the point where you are steroiotipical, you think that everyone on one side of the world wants only PvP and the other side wants only PvM, its not right. And theres more people at the last blizzcon for Diablo becuase of the play and demo, and still a general survet still caps the aprroximate averge of people so if 300/6600 peop;le want pvp, that means 3000/66000 will, its an average.

Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.
Some people are so stuck in the 90's it's unbelievable.
They would go to the ends of the earth just so Blizzard could give them a 3D version of the same game, D2. It's stupid and counter-progressive. Plus it just shows a general fear of failure and a lack of faith in the company that has given them games to play for the last 15 years.
PvM is awesome. But it gets old fast since monters never evolve or adapt to the player's skill level/ builds. Therefore when they start to optimize characters, the monster just get easier and easier.
PvP on the other hand is thrilling. Reminiscent to playing PvM on hardcore. Where the fear of death is ever present. Although dying in PvM hardcore results in loss of character (heartbraking, maybe) but a loss in PvP means a blow to your ego.(much more serious).
Noone likes to lose. Hence why the competition level is so high. PvP has always been an important part of D2 no matter which way you look at it. Even a PvM only player with half a brain would admit that alot of folks were doing it. Thus the reason why Blizzard is trying to improve on it and make it something more than a sideshow (as it was in D2).
They are trying to give it features, meaning, order. A properly developed ranking system would enable things such as internaitonal tournaments to take place and would make the Diablo world exponentially larger. Imagine th epossibilities, imainge the bragging rights of winning against all odds.
That's the kind of vision Blizzard has and the kind of spirit Diablo needs to remove itself from the ARPG (cheap story/clickfest) stigma that it has, and truly become a competitive/user friendly game it should of been a long time ago.

still waiting for you kids to find your nuts and face the truth, or get on diablo and get the shit kicked out of them. Don't worry, hide all you want ill find your little pussy pvming asses in d3 and butt fuck you there too.

Well, 97% of the ppl at Blizzcon didn't like the D2 PvP So we can assume that they only like PvM (in D2).
is messing with numbers. 97%, after playing the Blizzcon Demo of D3, found a different aspect of the game more exciting than PVP. Considering there wasn't PVP in the demo (i think), that they could only choose one option, and that D3 is a different game than D2, that conclusion is way wrong
