Oh I didnt catch what you meant then. Yea, I dont think that would be a good idea, unless its like a case hwere if it were D2 weeda been buying the Cow Level map, or D3s equivelent. But personally, mapwise id like D3 to be like our newage games where companies are offering exclusive maps for Diablo Pre-Orders.

I think diablo is not a kind of game that we need to buy extra content. It's a trick for a company to make more cash, I don't want that... I'll buy the whole game I want it to be full and complete ! I don't buy a part of a game and buy for the others part later...
There will never be pay-to-play content in the diablo world, it just doesnt fit. Diablo isnt WoW and one mechanic doesnt work for all, I really highly doubt blizz would do that.

Paying money for more content? Isn't that kind of like... an expansion?
I'm not opposed to expansions (I did buy LoD... several times), though obviously I'd prefer that small items either be included in the game in the first place, or added via free patches
Expansions are a different story. Did you want to wait an extra year-2years for D3 to come out so the expansion is included? I dont think any of us want to. There also different because you get a whole new package, as to buying BS is usually items or equipment or maps, your paying cash for a single item, expansions you buy ang get multitude of items, maps(levels, acts, areas whatever), classes and whatever else.

Are you suggesting that buying an expansion is anything other than paying money for more content?
I didn't say anything about delaying the game for the sake of having more content. In fact I said, "I am not opposed to expansions..." Maybe I should have spelled it out very clearly: I think releasing a game that immediately has extra purchasable content (such as maps or equipment) is really lame because that content could have been included with the game release, which the players also had to pay for.
Frankly, I was agreeing with your original post on the subject. I disapprove of pay-to-play content for D3 (aside from the original game release and any subsequent expansions, of course). I am curious as to why you feel the need to contradict everything I say. If you do want to contradict me, at least try and choose a topic we don't agree on...
I hate when I type like 3 paragraphs of info and a worng button is hit and its all... Gone. So heres the point. Pay to play is way different from expansions. 95% of pay t play items cannot really effect the outcome of any game, there just fun extra offered if you want to fork over some money. Expansions, are available full media, instead to those who can afford or get them, and they offer everyhting. Time consuming, game changiing changes, was different than extra bragging rights items.
And it also seems like your every attempt at a message is trying to start a fight wth me, so watch the neg comments, keep things to yourself.

I never said paying money to change your character name was the same thing as an expansion. They're quite obviously not. Where are you getting that interpretation? Here, I'll give you my original quote to save you time.
Paying money for more content? Isn't that kind of like... an expansion?
In fairness maybe I was a little off topic, but I was imagining a system where blizzard could sell not just meaningless features online, but some of the features you would expect to see in a game normally as well. I don't have an XBOX or a playstation, but don't those consoles hook up to the internet where you can purchase extra content for some games?
At any rate, I'm pretty sure we agreed on this stuff so you're arguing with yourself, buddy.
No we wernt agreeing, I say buying Extra Content isnt an expansion, but now what you said makes more sense. I own a PS3, and yes, you can go online and buy "extra content" for games, but you can also buy Full fledged "Expansions" so in vein, they are not the same but similar. An example of Extra content may be a Guitar Hero song pack you would buy, or a set of maps, as where an expansion is a new chapter to a game. Some "content" packs do agreeably give quite a bit to consider them similar, but not the same

Same difference. You say potato and I say potato. Whether you're paying a small amount of money for an extra guitar hero song or a somewhat larger amount of money for a guitar hero expansion featuring several songs by the same band, either way you are essentially paying money for additional content. Besides, I never said that paying money for content was undeniably an expansion, I asked rhetorically if paying money for extra content was "kind of like... an expansion?" I choose my words carefully most times. You're trying to argue a very fine point and frankly, I don't think anyone cares.
Its like that time you tried to explain to me that the monk class isn't really a feature of Diablo 3.
And heres the thing, I think it was what feature of D3 are you most exited about, so the monk alone, isnt a feature, maybe classes as a whole could be a feature, but not just one..
I don't really care what you want to call it, its part of the game. No one here wants to waste their time arguing over what language should be used to distinguish very minor details. If you want to contradict someone, at least try and base your argument on some evidence and not your personal interpretation of words like "feature" or "expansion."
Now, I think I said that I am not opposed to expansions in D3, but I also said that I think small features should be included in free patches if not available for the original release, as opposed to becoming payable downloads. To quote you,
There will never be pay-to-play content in the diablo world, it just doesnt fit. Diablo isnt WoW and one mechanic doesnt work for all, I really highly doubt blizz would do that.
Okay so we didn't make exactly the same statement, but it does seem to me that neither one of us wants to pay for extra features in D3 beyond the original cost of the game. So are we agreeing or aren't we? Don't you find it even a little bit odd that you are disagreeing that we agree?
I think this pay-for-extra-stuff part of the thread is a missread of Seth's post. So to clarify, the marketplace will not be connected to Diablo 3.
Quote from "Seth" »
Again, the quote said that the marketplace would NOT be crossing over to Diablo III  And since there isn't trading in StarCraft, I don't think it would have been a trading system, it was probably like the XBox Live Marketplace where you can buy extra maps and stuff for fees.
There will be no marketplace in Diablo 3. Buying maps may be in Starcraft 2, as it has happened in other RTS games with other companies, but Diablo 3 will have nothing to do with this.
Don't know why LinkX had to come himself and post to remind everyone what's been said countless times by Blizzard in many interviews; "there will be NO pay to play or game content in D3."
Those might not be the exact words, but that's just cause I'm too lazy to find quotes and copy paste.:P Besides, you guys shouldn't have to be reminded all the time.

I'd like that.
Good to keep the game going.
And I'm sure we'll be getting plenty of that as well with the release of Diablo III.
