How is the current situation in Hell, who has triumphed between the battle of Asmodeus and Belial?
As far as we know, Hell is still at war with itself. But, as pointed out to me in the past (possibly by Elfen), Hell is naturally chaotic, so they would pretty much be at war constantly anyway. This is Hell, they aren't ever going to just sit around and be peaceful.
Was Lilith trully killed?
I doubt it.
Apart from the 3 Prime Evils, Belial and Asmodeus, is there any "Major Evil" that hasn't appeared yet?
Astrogah, too, hasn't been seen yet. Though if you look at the concept art for DIII, a spider-woman can be seen. I have no idea if she is related to Astrogah or not though.
There is also Lucion, but we don't know if he really did fade from existence at Uldyssian's hand or not. (Uldyssian wished Lucion to become 'nothing' and so he did).

The Warrior, Rogue, and Sorcerer from D1 were corupted and became The Wanderer, Blood Raven, and The Summoner in D2, correct?
Yes.
If that's the case, I'm wondering if there's any type of corrupting of the hero classes of D2? Or did they all just die of old age since D3 takes place 20 years afterward?
I think I read somewhere on the Diablo III website that the heroes who defeated Diablo became corrupted. However, the wording wasn't too good, so I'm not actually sure if it was talking about the heroes from Diablo I or II. But it seems very likely that they would be corrupted.
Oh yeah, do we know how old Cain really is?
No. But wow, he is old. Twenty years since we last saw him. I suspect there is more to it than mere luck. But that is just suspicion, we don't know for sure yet.
What exactly is the significance of soulstones? In other words why is it that Diablo and company need soulstones to maintain their presence in the mortal world? When they were first banished from Hell they didn't have their soulstones, so why is it that they can now stay in the mortal world without them?

According the replies about the girl in the cinematic, she might be Cain's Daughter. But I guess I gotta wait untill the game actual comes out to get a presice answer
EDIT: ok I noticed something in the gameplay trailer, when the hero (you) send Cain up to town in a town portal, you tell him that "Leah worries after you" so then, this Leah, it might be his daughter after all. Or its just an NPC that gives you a quest to save Cain :/
I just read on gamespot that one of the blizzard ppl at the convention said there is 7 evils from hell, which might mean that we are gonna battle the remanining 4 maybe.
But my question is :
Who is the remaining evils then ?
1 Diablo
2 Baal
3 Mephisto
4
5
6
7
Anyone know, curious becuase i dont know where to find those names unless they are only part of the diablo lore.
The Blizzard guys were saying that we have seen Andariel and Duriel so far, but we have yet to see Azmodan (the Lord of Sin) and Belial (the Lord of Lies). We will very likely get to see them two in DIII.
And yes, they are only part of Diablo lore. Everything is only part of Diablo lore. Its not real life lol.
I have a question - if DESTRUCTION'S END portal leads to another dimension, how come the heroes of d2 still exist in Sanctuary?
Who said it leads to another dimension? We don't know where that portal led to exactly, but its assumed that it led back to town or back to the Hellforge to destroy Baal's soulstone.
Actually, that information is from the Diablo I manual. If you haven't played DI or read its manual, you definitely should. A lot of people say that Diablo I is actually better than Diablo II.
But I believe Belial is mentioned in The Legacy of Blood. Xazax is a minion of Belial, from what I recall.
so what was revealed this morning for the lore panel?

I've got a good question for you - Who the hell is Abd Al-Hazir? He's the guy who's writing all the Diablo III.com lore in an entry format
Has he been mentioned before and where? Because his name sounds familiar but I cant find it at all
I don't remember having heard his name anywhere, but my guess is that he came from that new city caldeum
Here's the informations we got from D3 website
Abd al-Hazir is a renowned gentleman, historian, and scholar. He has recently taken up the unprecedented task of investigating, researching, and compiling information about the unique locales and denizens of our world.
Also he was apparently killed or abducted by those cultists guys so he may be part of a future quest in D3
Since returning home, I have been feverishly researching those demon-enthralled cultists in an effort to ease my mind, to assure myself that I had not actually seen what I had, but every whispered, frightened tale only deepens the chill that has seized me. I do not know which of my actions alerted them, but my worst fears have been realized. I have been marked. This is the last known writing of Abd al-Hazir. Known for his compilation of weird and wonderful facts about our unique world, he has unfortunately been missing since late last year.
Finally take note that from his indepth analysis of skeletons that he discovered that they found it hilarious to hide in barrels for centuries waiting for their next victim.
I am at a loss to explain the average skeleton's somewhat ludicrous mental predisposition, however. Perhaps the implausibility of its own existence makes the skeleton think it hilarious to hide in a barrel, cackling intermittently for some three hundred years until a victim happens by?
Majpain, seeing as you already made a thread asking the question and got lots of answers it seems kind of pointless now lol :P. Just in future, this thread is lore question central
but
Note that this thread is not for theories, only solid facts.
So, all answers should have quotes from the games lore, novel lore or even the new Diablo 3 website
There is a certain amount of speculation allowed I suppose, but a whole theory cant be based upon it. If theres no quotes then there at least has to be some good logic
I remember that Tyrael destroyed the Worldstone and I read that the Worldstone had been keeping the ballance between the Heaven and the Hell. Now when Diablo, Mephisto and Baal are destroyed and Tyrael is alive... I think that it's clear that Tyrael will try to conquer the world. Or am I wrong?
P.P: If that is a secret Don't tell me.
Thats a theory, not a question. We have no idea yet.

What of the Paladins after 20 years? Are they still filled with Virture and ready to smite evil or have they become corrupt and fallen from grace?
I believe i read somewhere that the Zakarum have recovered themselves.
Quote from Caldeum page »
This veneer began to shred when Emperor Hakan became ill. His influence started to wane, and the mood in Caldeum changed with his health. As he got worse, so did our once fair city.
When he died and his ineffectual child heir took the throne, Caldeum began to circle the abyss. Our list of ills seems never-ending: the state of our downtrodden and the slums they are forced to live in, our incompetent leadership, the reemergence of the intolerant Zakarum, and their quarrels with our mage class...I could go on for pages.
It is all too much for one to bear, really.
Oh but, as for the Paladins themselves, I would imagine that they are still actively fighting evil (the ones that seperated themselves from the Inquisition of the Zakarum). Why wouldn't the Paladins still be alive?
There was a sect of holy knights of the Zakarum church that broke off before Mephisto corrupted Kurast, but nothing is know of their whereabouts.
They moved to Westmarch and restablished the Zakarum faith. This is Zakarum West. It was not corrupted by Mephisto.
There is a fanatical group within Zakarum West called the Inquisitors. They kill or convert all that they deem unholy.
The Paladin class in Diablo II, is actually a sub set of the Zealot rank within the Zakarum faith.

There are seven Great Evils: 3 Prime and 4 Lesser.
3 Prime: Diablo, Mephisto, Baal
4 Lesser: Andariel, Duriel, Azmodan and Belial.
Please refer to this link for more information: http://diablo.wikia.com/wiki/Great_Evils
