I'd like to see some skills in the barb that you can only activate when he is low on health. For example, a skilled called Final Frenzy that can only be triggered when he is below 30% and gives a massive boost to damage or Ancients Rage, which would make an Ancient posses your body when you are at 20% or below and give a big boost to most stats and maintain that form for a minute or 2.
I think a build around such skills would be very challeging and entertaining.

Why you would like to wait to have low heath to use a kickass skill??
This would be better if it activated after some killing then it won't be a lot of barbs getting poisoned to use the skill.
Maybe a skill that raises the Barbarian's skills the lower his health gets. That would be cool because it would make the Barbarian class more defined in terms of what role they play in the dungeons. I would like to see the Barbarian as a main character, but not a 'tank' per-say.

If you ask me we already do see magical attributes... I mean, using magic to enhance the brute strength that he has. As he get's stronger, he uses more and more magic to enhance his abilities. That's just what I think it looks like anyways... Could be wrong, could be right...
Barb looked great in the vids. I was never really big on Barbs in D2 (except for the buffs) so maybe with the new skills I'll play him more in D3. I'm sure fans are happy to see he still has Whirl Wind.
I'd greatly detest a character who's a pseudo-bouncer cliche that is one dimensional at most, rather than being a versatile model put forth to be flexible in more than one area of fight, and flight; because in the end, every barbarian will have those pesky little jiffies where he just HAS to flee the scene, and recuperate. I hope the developers keep that in mind, so as not to end up with a product that, in which, they tried so very hard to be so bloody original, they finished up with an end product that's just another piece of plastic, but with different bolting to it.
That being said, what I've seen so far, with regards to the Barbarian, in the field of skills, is nearing impressive, but still miles away from it. The offensive skills need to have more dimensions, and some do have that aspect to them, in some way or another. I'll hold my final judgment until I see more skills, more diversity, and more creativness; it's all premature speculation at this stage and time.
On the D3 website, when you watch the serperate videos showcasing the Barbarian's move set. The end of the whirlwind clip is hilarious. He slaughters everyone and theres one lonely baddie left. It looks like he just backhands him and sends him flying. I find this quite entertaining. Barbarian might be the first class I play just so I can backhand monsters off the screen. Check it out for yourself, its pretty good.
This is not my strong point with regards to being creative.
LoL, I didn't mean to put you on the spot :). I am not creative either but what did you mean by tactical skills? Did Diablo 2 / LoD have them?
I did play Diablo 2 for three years of my life obsessively playing a Bararian, Amazon, and a Sorceress and from what I remember, practically every skill is a straight-forward "kill" spell.
On another note, I did start playing Diablo 2 again. But this time, I started with the Sorceress as opposed to my first character ever, the Barbarian.
And I must say, I just flat-out miss getting in monster's faces and mowing them down.
I always pick the Warrior / Barbarian in every RPG I play : Diablo 1, Diablo 2, World of Warcraft, etc. So I am definitely going to start out with the Barbarian, no matter what the next three classes are :).
I typically play a melee character my first time through a game. D1 = Warriors, D2 = Paladins, WoW = Warriors and Paladins. So there's a good chance i'll start with the Barb. I prefer to play one extreme or the other, not wild about the dual-class sort of characters. I felt a bit lost when i started playing a paladin in WoW because of the focus on a blend of magic and melee, but i'm sure D3 will be a little easier to adapt to different playstyles.
I like the way they designed the barb this time. They seem older, more experienced, easier to take seriously. They look wise. And the idea of awise melee character has me smirking. They don't just go in and beat stuff up, they use the environment to help them, which means you need to be more alert this time around instead of just running in swinging your axe at anything that moves.

Yeah mean, I'm the exact same way. My next character was a Sorceress :).

Rise and rise again, until lambs become lions
What kind of tactical skills?
