    You are dumb.
This means that you can't hostile other people. So in order to pk we will probably have to create special games(arena kind of games) for pvp only. Which is gay.

This is wrong, all they needed to do was add a timer to stop tppk, which is the only real exploit in d2's pvp system.

Is it gay because you now require actual skill to kill other people?

If you need a flawed pvp system where you can gank unwilling and lower lvl players to feel powerful then you are the f*ggot here sir.

I'd like to see some skills in the barb that you can only activate when he is low on health. For example, a skilled called Final Frenzy that can only be triggered when he is below 30% and gives a massive boost to damage or Ancients Rage, which would make an Ancient posses your body when you are at 20% or below and give a big boost to most stats and maintain that form for a minute or 2.

I think a build around such skills would be very challeging and entertaining.

I agree that surrounding, kiting, defending and the sort should definitely be part of the AI.

Also I'd like it if the monsters could tell when you are low on health and replace their defensive tactics for very aggresive ones so that you won't be able to escape alive.

yeah we can live without them, to be honest i'd like the pots better, but things change.

for some reason, the orbs still give me a weird feeling, click the game screenshot on my sig to see what i mean...

About that, I was looking at the screenshot in your sig and just noticed that hotkeys 5 and 6 are different from the skill hotkeys (1-4), hotkey 5 even has scrolls in it so it's possible that hotkey 6 could work as a mini potion belt intended for serious emergencies maybe.

How do you know the ranks for sure? Is it just because you've seen it in the gameplay video? Cause that could have easily been rigged.

What? How could the video be rigged if it is an official release from Blizzard?

Actually this has been discussed many times since the minute after the gameplay trailer came out, that's why you don't see threads about it anymore.

Basically the only thing we know so far is that not all skills will go to level 20, there are skills with maximum rank of 1, 5, 10 and 20. Because of this we assume that there will not be a synergy system this time because it would be weird that a rank 1 skill can synergize with a rank 20 one. I personally think that it will work pretty much like the Wow talent system.

I'm pretty sure that there was Starcraft 2 in blizzcon 2007 so the record sales are all because of diablo 3.

    Quote from "Ivaron" »
Nah, I'm sure the wiki article is reliable. Problem is, from when are these figures? They're probably quite old.. Diablo 2 has kept selling all these years, I still see it whenever I go to a games shop.

    Ahahaha, good one! :D

"As of August 29, 2001, Diablo II has sold 4 million copies worldwide"

"To date, the franchise has sold more than 18.5 million copies worldwide."

If you discount the 2.5 million from D1 then D2 sold around 16 million. So there's at least 16 million fans and you also have to factor there's a lot of people who share their copy of the game with their siblings/friends AND people who download the game through torrents or whatever.

We could have Balance, Order, and Chaos.

That still wouldn't work so well though. For example you will never find a necromancer that isn't in favor of balance, it's one of their prime teachings.

You won't find a paladin who doesn't preach order even if their actions seem chaotic to others.

    etc etc.

Well I think that even if it's a little conflicting with the lore we could find a way around it. Also necromancers wont be returning and probably paladins too so there's no problem there.

Well i dont really care if there will be alignment, and our discussions in this thread wont change anyrthing so i give up on this thread.

(That means: Thread died, have to find other place to raise post count. =P)

Well I still think that you should be able to finish the random sidequests in more than one way to keep you from being the good errand boy so maybe Ill give it more thought and some other time make a new thread with the balance, order and chaos concept instead.

Back on Topic: I can't wait to protect a caravan from a continuous horde of monsters (or something of the like). And if it gets too hairy I'll fight to the death! ... or I'll take off haha - I guess what I'm saying is I'll make my own moral code :P

That could be an awesome random sidequest lol.

    Quote from "Archie" »
I think alignment should be implemented like in KOTOR 2. They had it perfected.

The light side got a little bit brighter, happier looking, with more pure features to their face. The light side got +points to Wisdom.
Dark side got a sinister look to them. Darker features, veins coming through the thin pale skin. Eyes turned dark orange and red. Dark side got +points to damage.
Neutral side didn't change the appearance of your character at all. But Neutral did get a lot of +points to Constitution.

This is balanced believe it or not. Light side uses Wisdom as a damage modifier for spells. Dark side got damage points that directly affect spells. And Neutral gets a ton more hp.

As for DIII, it could be something like that. Good gets points into Strength, Dark side gets direct points into damage, and Neutral gets a lot of points into Costitution. Now in my opinion, a Neutral character should be the best, and should get a huge bonus of points. But to make this balanced, it should be incredibly difficult, nearly impossible, to get a perfectly balanced character, so they only get a partial bonus.

    my $00.02. :)

I like it, specially the red eyes thing, it would look fucking cool. Don't know about neutral being better than the other 2 though.

    Quote from "Doppelganger" »
All of your ideas suck to be honest, Diablo is a fucking hack & slash adventure with a story, not a "will i fight for hell or heaven or stay neutral" fail of an RPG.

Again, please read the thread before you make yourself look more of an idiot. The concept of alignment doesn't have anything to do with siding with one faction or another.

    Quote from "Kenzai" »

Perhaps we should have 'chaotic' and 'lawfull' instead of good and evil.

Oh that sounds like an great alternative, even better than good and evil considering that some people are getting way too confused by the concept of alignment. We should also have "balanced" instead of "neutral" to get rid of all misinterpretations. Im not sure how the change in appeareance could be done though, maybe just forfeit it?

I'm getting a bit tired of this "good/neutral/evil" hype. If it doesn't really affect the game, wich it won't in Diablo, (apart from some mundane details) then whats the point? Also what is the point of it being "good" or "neutral" or "evil", seriously think about how senseless that is. Why would you want to focus on this if the game itself revolves around a story about absolute evil against what's supposed to be absolute good and the player being the playball and sanctuary the playing ground of this tug of war. It would just banalize the story into stupid hype "you can choose to become good, or evil" black & whites, probably just disregarding ambiguity in the story because you want to include alignment in a game that revolves around hack & slash anyways. (or breaking lore)
So again, either make an actual deep RPG (deeper then TES or KOTOR or Fable, wich imo suck at being RPG's) or leave that shit alone.

Read the thread before posting, we've suggested many ways in which alignment can affect your gameplay. Also there is no absolute good in this game, what are you talking about? Angels and demons want to destroy Sanctuary so they are both bad guys for mankind.

yes ava, thank you for explaining for me. I meant as a separate package. Making it part of the actual basic game is just a bad move because you won't get new buyers from it. The only difference it makes is in the eyes of the people that already planned on buying it.

I bought warcraft 3 because of Dota.

If they sold it separately only a few people would buy it and the rest would download it. Also Blizzard would get a lot of hate for not including it with D3.
