Arent Barbs and Druids like brothers in the Diablo World? IMO there should be a druid of the cow.
Barbarians are refreshing to me personally because I used to always play sorcerers in games and most playing time was spent running away and cowering and doing complex stuff, Barbarians IMO are more satisfying to play as, because you get more instant results and it all just feels so right.
i liked the class in d2 but im loving it as of what i saw in d3 and its sick whilrwind got a huge upgrde cause it just ripped through those little monsters

If Darkness Was unstoppable We'd Already Be Dead......
Hell Is unstoppable
Can anyone see the barbarian having a boomerang skill
like he could throw His giant main Weapon
and it go through enemies then come back going through them again
it'd be good for ranged on a boss no?
or maybe if he's dual wielding
he can throw one through a group
and while it flies through demolishing the enemy
he and his other weapon are close behind hacking away
or does that seem to unreal for barb?
I mean I understand he had the charge skill
and leap
but who knows, for bosses, he might need a ranged attack
just maybe?
End of Thread
But seriously
I mean
How bitching is the boomerang skill
imagine a huge two handed axe
flying through enemies
it'd be ranged
good for distance with bosses
I mean
come on, that's just awesome imo
no?
End of thread lol
ehhhh.... how would the weapon come back? I mean he could throw it... but then I think you would need the risk of loosing the weapons or it would cause major damage to it if it hit into a wall or dropped off a ledge or something.... plus you would have to run over and pick it up again....
I think they should just stick to the normal throwing skills.... if you dont build your char as a throwing barb, then you can't throw ur weapon....

I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.
This ability is totally magical, though, because unless a weapon IS a boomerang, it would not come back.
But, anyway, idea wise, I like this. Especially as an extension of double throw, or throwing mastery. Also allows you to use alternate weapons for throwing... *imagines a huge hammer flying into enemies*

This is true!
oh and the wep would come back normally because
he'd throw it like a boomerang
hence "barb boomerang skill"
lol
He has that shockwave thingy, and besides, you throw weapon, enemies get chopped, you look around in terror as you realize you killed all the enemies in front, but the ones at the side now are attacking your defenseless self. In the words of Mai'q the Liar:
"Some people wish to throw their weapons. That seems foolish to M'aiq. If you hold your weapon, you only need one."
Oh, and if you throw an axe like a boomerang, it will fly, then fall... Aerodynamics are a powerful thing, young grasshopper.

Maybe you should try the heXen II demo. They had a Crusader with a boomerang hammer. It was godly.
The way it was is like this:
you throw a weapon, it flies in one direction hitting everything and flying through, while you can move wherever you want, and then it returns to you, hitting everything, again. It's a pretty cool skill/weapon to have, and it's AoE, too.
I mean, you have to be strategic, you can't just throw it and stand still, that's just dumb.
Oh, I'm aware that boomerangs are good in video games, I've used such things before, it's just the same greatsword that's optimized for the separating of head and neck will not fly very far when thrown (except maybe by someone with the physical prowess of the Barbarian) and most certainly will not come back, unless you use some sort of ancestral spirit to guide it or some such thing.

THIS IS A FUCKING MAGICAL GAME...
I mean you can allow barbs to leap huge distances but not have weapons come back to them, no...

LOL I LOVE ELDER SCROLLS
but as I said
you could throw one of your one handed weps
and halt other enemies with your other 1 handed wep
read full post next time jk lol

TO Ox5477 :: Boomerangs do come back and we wanted the game to be realistic we should start think about angels and thousand - pounders
Yes boomerangs come back... so unless ur using a boomerang... it wont...
Yes, this is a magical game, but I will say that amount of distance that leap allows for in D2 is a little ridiculous... basically you can jump the distance of the screen.... its like jordan times 10..
Maybe a samurai sword would work in this theory if you widen the blade to give it lift as it is already semi in the blade shape..... maybe a special attribute of a unique samurai style sword

This might be true
But I mean come on dude
give it a little slack
Barbarian is easily Michael x 10
and throwing an axe or sword as a boomerang is not that unrealistic for diablo
I mean amazons had arrows that locked onto targets
jeez stop killing my dream

haha, sorry, didnt mean to kill anybodies dream today;)
I do agree that it wouldn't be too far fetched and it would be a cool skill... similar to something like the assasins blade skill which sends a spinning blade out and it comes back... but only it'll be with your weapon. Would be a pretty powerful skill and Im sure there could be full builds around it if they don't due the purely throwing weapon barbs in D3.

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but the idea was made by the same person who had problems with barbs using magic in the first place...
And if you'll notice, I did say "most certainly will not come back, unless you use some sort of ancestral spirit to guide it or some such thing." when I said that, I was saying it could work, but not in the original premise of the idea.
The Barbarian looked great. I wish they did a little more "actual fighting" rather than constant..constant..constant..CONSTANT skill attacks. I swear, they did like, 20 Leap Attacks in the first 30 seconds of the gameplay vid. I would've loved to see more actual bashing than Cleave here, War Cry there. That aside, if those were his top skills, I will be having second thoughts about choosing the barbarian, though mind you, I believe most of those skills were level 12-16; if they are any higher than level 21, then God would I be disappointed. No complaint there, but think about it, it's unreasonable. I haven't seen 10% of what the Barbarian can do, so I will in no way judge him based on what I have seen thus far.
