Anyone got any socketed 5-6 blades of Elite weapons? Preferably Hellfire and up?
Or just white blades?
Runes I'm looking for : Fu, Wo,

Jesus, $4M?Quote from "Stormcat" »For me the best things I have gotten gambling have been through Gheed in hell A1. Get you some gold finding charms (I may be able to give you a few I think) - or dstone to some pieces - there are a few rune/gem words that will give you high gold fiind too - richesdotcom, cherry blossom, greed - are a few that I can remember. I have around 450 GF and 350 MF - I get plenty of gold. I usually get up to $4 million then I start gambling - this takes maybe a few hours of playing at the most, I only pick up rares to sell back and of course the gold that drops, but if you pick up the exceptional and elite magical items you could probably get more quick cash that way too. Also, Fake Note Factory, each note is $50k - but whenever I go there I usually only get 1 or 2 if that - Murderface used to get Fake Note jackpots, but I never did. Cows will net you some cash too (both secret level and Lost Farm in NM.)
You cannot play ES on bnet - so east and west have nothing to do with ES. Only way to play multiple player is by hosting or joining a hosted game.
There is a setting on XFire that lets you "join" friends game (which I didn't even really think about until Anakyn mentioned it) - but I am not sure if that works with ES. Nobody has gotten on for me to try it with.
Where is Lost Farm by the way?
I still don't know what Dragon Stones do and I've looked it up on the gemwords thing on the ES website. I have like 30 of them.
Nov 14, 2008Posted in: Diablo IIQuote from "Stormcat" »Damn Ody, you leveled up quick. You will be in hell soon.
I mess around a lot, level a bit, then mess around some more trying to get more stuff - hehehe. I went back to NM and tried Naruko on players 8 - woosh. Metalsparks and those damn wyverns kicked my ass.
I have lots of runes too, I haven't made anything worthwhile yet. I want to try out all the sets first and am trying out different weapons for my frenzy/concentrate/plasma rain barb. I have Sarevok's now and just need the helm for Hurja. I know I have gambled millions upon millions just trying to get that helm. lol
I also am trying to NOT use any warcries (I haven't put any points into them) - I'm not doing too bad, the plasma rain helps alot, but I do need to get more life leech.
Where is the best place gamble? And where do I get the gold to gamble for that much..?
Nov 14, 2008Posted in: Diablo IIQuote from "Stormcat" »I'm not sure if Xfire will let you join an ES game. I would like to try it with someone, just to see if it does work. I wonder if you would still need the host person's IP or not???
Well, I can't be around alot of noise and bright light, so I am stuck at home for awhile. I will most likely be on Friday night so maybe then. I am guessing you are PST.
hmmm - that's 12:30-1 my time - sorry but i'm in bed - i get up at 6 - maybe tomorrow night
Alright man, I'll hit you up.
Anyone know any good runewords for a Frenzy Barb? I'm level 71 now and I still got crap items but a shitload of runes.
Nov 13, 2008Posted in: Diablo IIQuote from "Stormcat" »*sighs* - nobody was on last night.
@Ody - I could give you some stuff. What is your hamachi name and when are you on?
Hehe, I'm level 48 now, but I still got mediocre items.
I'll be on around 9:30 - 10:00 PM PST and will play awwww night.
Nov 12, 2008Posted in: Diablo IIQuote from "Anakyn" »Yeah. Whatever single-player Eastern Sun characters you make, you can use them to play multi-player Eastern Sun on Hamachi.
Just make sure that you have the same version of Eastern Sun installed as the other people with whom you play (the current version is R6D).
Also, DO NOT attempt to access your shared-stash during a multi-player game; you'll crash the game, and may corrupt your files.
Only open your shared-stash when you are in single-player mode.
I am a level 18 Barb so far, having so much fun.
Anyone got any hand-me-downs :)?
Nov 12, 2008Posted in: Diablo IIQuote from "Anakyn" »Ody,
Yes. You can use your Eastern Sun characters to play Eastern Sun over Hamachi.
That is what you are asking, correct?
Hehe, more specifically, was asking if single player characters were transferable to Hamachi. I've never used Hamachi so I thought you had to make a new character to play multiplayer. But I think you answered my question :p.
Nov 12, 2008Posted in: Diablo IIQuote from "Wailer" »yup, I had to make new chars though. couldn't use any from reg d2. of course thats not much a problem since finding good stuff is easier.
You mean vanilla D2? Because I'm playing single player LoD ES and I don't want to waste time on it if I can't use the same char for Hamachi servers...

Oct 12, 2008Posted in: NewsQuote from "Varth" »wow...blizzard I congratulate you on taking a great game franchise and now completely sending it down the shit-hole.
I've warmed up to the art direction for the game
I've gone from against your stupid health orbs to be indifferent to them
I've praised you for for the conceptual art, the death animations, the named monsters, the destructable backgrounds, the regular monsters, as well as other areas of the new game
I was gladdened to hear you were looking into improving the inventory system including the stash
I was instantly against the idea of checkpoints and the exclusion of the classic Town Portal
I was initially skeptical about the sudden overblown aspect of skills and their seeming necessity to be absolutely overpowered in order to hold our attention
and now I have you guys go and COMPLETELY turn D3 from a PC title that would help reinvent PC Platform gaming into a piece of shit console port by eliminating the last dregs of RPG element: the stat line. Strength, Dex, Vitality, Energy being completely controllable by the user is an absolute must in a true RPG. This isn't a freaking MMO where everything has to be balanced to a T (which Blizzard failed and continues to fail to do in WoW). If anything, all this does is completely eliminate what made Diablo so good: being able to go and create your own unique build on character classes.
Now every character is going to be the same with a bunch of bullshit overpowered spells because you seem to think we're a bunch of ADD ridden kids who can't be pleased unless we are on the very edge of having a built in God Mode. Why don't you just eliminate dieing as well? That way I can just plow though the game using flashing ADD button mash spells in just a couple of hours
I said months ago: to get Diablo 3 right, they need to make the Stats worth something so then people can do more than put max stats to Vit like in Diablo 2 and make it more like Diablo 1 where stats actually meant something. What I meant by this was PUT SOME FUCKING EFFORT INTO THE GODDAMNED GAME MECHANICS AND NOT COP OUT AND MAKE EVERYTHING AUTOMATIC!!!!! ACTUALLY FIX THE GODDAMN PROBLEM INSTEAD OF PUT A PATCH OVER IT!!!
I thought I would have purchased Diablo 3 no matter what Blizzard managed to do to screw it up but I didn't anticipate that Blizzard would be so fucking mindless as to automate the majority of the game including the character building aspect just to appease the people who can't sit down and take the time to plan out their own stat points. Whoopteedo, I get to choose between putting a point between Spell A and Spell B both of which are equally powerful and do relitively the same thing.
Oh I'm sure the Demo was fun enough to play for a while until a Blizzard rep jabbed you in the kidneys and said, "Back of the line buddy." However from what I've read so far of Diablo 3, it's going the opposite direction of what I want it to be. Yes, I'll be so arrogant as to say I want it a certain way. *Humph* I guess I was right years ago before I ever had a clue D3 was even being made when I said the only way a new Diablo is going to be made is if I do it myself. Well, with the way this game is progressing, it's going to be Diablo 3 in name only.
Unless something happens to change my mind, I'm probably not going to buy this game. As a note, I would have previously bought this game no matter what state of suckage it was in...until I realized there is a certain level of suckage that even I cannot ignore no matter how much I want a Diablo 3
Diablo 1: absolute perfect classic
Diablo 2: a decent game that pails in comparison to the original
Diablo 3: off to a horrendious start...

Which class was your favorite to play?
Oct 11, 2008Posted in: NewsQuote from "Ferret" »Except for this: Log on to B.Net right now. Wait until you have 5 Hammerdins in game (Takes about 5-30 second, so be patient). Now ask them... what weapon are they using. Four will say Flail Hoto, and the fifth will say hes getting one too when he can afford it. Ask again, this time what armor they have... all of them will tell you they're using AP Enigma, except for one MP Enigma. Hello item customization? Much appraised and hardly seen.
Now ask them about skills they invested in, I will shit a brick if one is out of the ordinary, not to mention he will immediatley get mowed down by the others and told to remake the character.
As for stats, seeing as they all have similar gear and skills, this one won't be hard to figure out.
Now can anyone point out the flaw we have here, the main reason why there is no need for this so-called customization? They've all done the same thing! Congratulate every single one of them now to let them know they have all achieved exemplary uniqueness compared to the other thousands of Hammerdins.
Here's more food for thought: this whole thing will probably never happen. The uniqueness of each character allows them all to use the same botting programs with the same results, so you won't get an answer from them. At the end of the day they all notice they have leveled without playing, and utterly convinced that it was their true talent at this game and their perserverence, the don't even say thank you to the damn computer programs that actually did all the work for them.
How's that for a slice of uniqueness? So many options to do it different from everyone else, a whole 510 statpoints, or chances, to set yourself apart from the rest, and yet everyone will have nearly identical stats.
Yet we have the same group of people lament over the loss of the unique runewords that were so unique that nearly every character had the same weapons, when Runewords were one of the reasons the whole act of statting a character became redundant. Thanks to Runewords, you can now even choose to make a character with only Vitality stated, that's awesome, and I am sure this will exceed any other player's idea of how to set up a character by far.
I don't understand some of you claiming to have played so much D2 without realizing this: You create a character, get the items and do BASIC MATH to figure out how much of what stat you need to get your gear on and have decent life. The whole system is so basic that friends and me actually never had to collect stats until 75 and bug character equipment, we did that off the top of our heads as we were leveling.
D2 was truly unique. Not the way that everyone stated the same points and skills, and not by making everyone aim for the same gear. D2 was unique because it attracted so many different people for so long and was fun to play, but how much fun did that Pally over there have dying in Baalruns until 75 have? Not much, until he was finally able to stat the minimum amount of points to be just like every other Paladin.
I completely agree. Such a great post, but this will go over so many player's heads as they only argue with emotion rather than fact.
Oct 11, 2008Posted in: NewsQuote from name="-Mephisto"s Lament-" »I'm not talking about the skill runes, which can be just as annoying as VItality pumping if used properly, you guys just get too caught up in the moment, and blindly trust in Blizzard. Look, they're fucking great and all, I just wish they start doing shit that most people like. You needed strength to hold equipment, and to pump damage. Dexterity to increase chance of hitting, and chance of blocking. Energy wasn't useless. None of them were, are you nuts?
Maybe it was just me then, lol. My 98 Sorc was almost ALL Vitality and I never put ANY in Energy and yet my mana recharge rate was through the roof--given because of the items, of course.
I never found a need for Dexterity or Strength either, as I had a Bowazon and a Barbarian respectively. It always went into Vitality.
Edit - Towards endgame I was almost 100% PvP, so I did customize my stuff so it would fair well with PvP :).
Oct 11, 2008Posted in: NewsQuote from name="-Mephisto"s Lament-" »Behold, the lamest addition to Diablo 3 yet. Expect lamer and lamer.
In Diablo 2, Dexterity and Energy were useless, and the only thing Strength was used for was to wear equipment...The rest went into Vitality.
Yes, it would be better if we could somehow balance these attributes and customize it to our own, but I think the change is for the better.
Now you can customize your skills to a far and more efficient degree than D2. In Diablo 2, you would only use a handful of skills, but in D3 with the inclusion of Skill Runes, the possibilities are endless.
Oct 11, 2008Posted in: NewsQuote from "Romak" »Question: Is there a way to download the Wizard gameplay video (not the shorter trailer) to my computer for maximum quality? I didn't seem find a source for that.
Yeah, I want a copy of this video as well. I only for the trailer so far :(.
Oct 11, 2008Posted in: NewsQuote from "nemesis2252" »yea seriously, wtf. you can only put 1 skill into it, and it does 10 damage max? LETS GO KILL HELL BAAL!
There is a talent modifier in some of the other trees that says "30% extra damage for all Storm spells" or something. And another modifier that adds %dmg to ALL spells. But even so, I do feel the damage the spells do seem to be on the low side.
