Let's hope this isn't like the time that Left 4 Dead was the highest selling Valve game... and then the franchise died a year later because of the way they handled it!
In all honesty though, Blizzard has had a large number of the best selling games, going back to the first Starcraft and Diablo games.. Not sure if the first Warcraft is up there or not.
Did you do the same in Diablo 2? Yes but the fun came from trying out exotic builds and play around with some uncommon stats. I know Blizzard fanboys will overhype everything they offer but lets see in 2 months from now.
They should have just updated the graphics with a deeper customization tree and be done with it yet they decided to create a totally different game. Don't care if you agree or not but a successor should stay true to its predecessor.
Diablo 2 was a horrible successor to Diablo, if that's the criteria.

So, it was fun to create characters over and over, going through act 1 over, and over, and over again, just to try new builds?
It was great playing around with the stats? Yeah, energy was useless, strength was a prerequisite for items, dexterity was a when you used a shield, and vitality was the only really good attribute...
D2 is inferior to D3 in every way. Go play D2 and sulk about it. The fact of the matter is, if you can't see that then you're a damn fanboy, because your holding onto lame outdated system of a outdated product as if its the holy grail.
Let's keep the discussion on topic. D2 vs D3 comparisons, graphics discussions, autostats, autoskills, all that has been thoroughly discussed in dozens of other threads, this one isn't about that.
I bought Diablo 2 only once, and after a short while I gave it to a friend of mine as a present. After that, I only downloaded it from torrent sites. But this time, I bought CE and I'm not giving it to ANYONE.
And by the way, it's on its way
This has got me thinking. Some people here will remember that for YEARS this site was diablo3.com. We Theorised, brainstormed, reminisced, etc. for years before finally (4 bloody years ago !!) diablo3 was officially announced.
This site has, on the whole, been comparitively quiet when you put it next to other game fansites... but with the numbers that D3 is going to ship, is anyone else expecting this place to blow up?
Back when we were D3.com it felt like we were waiting for something that perhaps was never going to come. Like Blizzard had forgotten about Diablo, and the rest of the world didn't even know what it was. Now everything's turned upside down, and D3 is looking to be the biggest selling PC game ever.
We've been waiting for 10 years for this game. I was 16 when I first hoped for diablo 3... Now it's only a couple of days away.
And as a bonus I've now reached 69 posts on this account,
I actually expect numbers to dwindle after launch. This site is fun for those who have been here awhile (me, less than a year) but honestly I believe there's a lot of people who are only on here for the news, which makes sense, but that means that when D3 launches they won't be visiting anymore. Just my 2 cents.

I don't know, people may still check in and speculate about the expansions, or new patch developments that are on the way. Maybe, but probably not that many.
It's too bad they couldn't organise a "real" worldwide launch day, I.E. so everyone can play at the same time. I believe South America and Russia will get the game later and that's just bad...

Ok, you are a troll then.

In what country is the digital one 2x the cost? Here in the states, it's the same price. The only difference is whether or not you want a box.

~$78 doesn't seem to be two times as much as ~$65, although I am terrible at math and could be wrong.
True, I guess you just have to pay a little extra for convenience. Since you don't have to worry about a physical copy and all.
