Why are people so ungrateful for what blizzard has done for us?
There are bugs in the system ill grant you that but they are trying to fix them.
All day in general chat i see people complaing about how blizz sucks they wasted there money bla bla, like they are entitled to a game just because they payed money for it.
You dont own this game my friends and if you dont believe me read the TOS agreement.... your renting the right to play.... they own it and can take it from you at any time for no reason at all.
Have some Gd appreciation for what these people have givin you.
i love the diablo franchise and i appreciate what blizz gave me...... patience and understanding people... they give it to us everyday.
Well, I'd say that when you pay what amounts to full price for a game you'd like it to work, instead you get a really terrible launch followed by days of huge bugs and server issues.
I think most people would be a lot calmer if the game's launch and subsequent first week had gone a lot smoother.
Remember Wrath launch? How bout Cata? Both had severe issues and i didnt see anywhere neare the amount of complaining i see here.. People piss and moan about the game, how they hate it or how shitty it is, but they still play it? Where is the logic?
Usually the people who complain about the servers are people who don't have knowledge about what it takes to keep them maintained.
It is harder than Inferno on hardcore, I know. But it is not impossible. And if you expect people to pay for a product, that product should live up to certain standards. And while Blizzards games are awesome fun, the speed at which they handle technical issues, is a disaster...
You have to think of maintenance like a doctor treating a patient. Patient complains... doctor diagnoses problem.... starts treatment.... has to wait and see if treatment worked..... didnt work.... try another treatment.
First we waited from the news and how long we waited? and again one last delay from korea. Fine.. lets wait. Wait........... no pvp??? Oh my ... god.. not even real money auction house?
Than I personally have to deal with the Collector Edition problem not being able to play at launch. (Fixed paying the digital copy) 160 dollars gone.
After that I'm stuck with another person (2 players game) almost via the entire Normal act 2-4 and Nightmare to 3. All good cause I'm kool and I love Diablo.
Guess what? All my items and gold are gone!!! HACKED?? Who knows.. but I got good ally that I played with willing to give me free gold and items so I can atlest start again. All my shit is crap anyway. My HTC Mobile Authenticator are now protecting my account! (crossing my fingers)
Hmm how come I'm doing the Nightmare act 4 part-1 again and again and again is it going to be like this until 60? so many freaking bots already?? Oh good finally having a party that is clearing Nightmare.
"Lets go to Hell~~ OMG this is easy as hell".. until we fight the first rare packs at act-1 Cathedral lvl 4... than 2nd packs... than the 3rd packs.. omg wipe wipe and wipe.. time to go upgrade before the boss ...........
Finally camped some decent items that doesnt cost 100000. So lets solo the hell act1 with out all those nubs making the act harder... than BAMMM "Error 3006". Spent 4 hours trying to get it fix with no luck. Now we are having a 8 hours server update. By the way this is my day off today.
Say all you want.. this game can be alot better and more fun to play consider how long it took to launch. If this patch dont fix the hacking and 3006 issue.. YOU are just waiting to be next victim and YOU will start being your so called "ungrateful ppl".
1st post and consider this as a RAGE and seriously what are they giving us? a broken game in many aspect. I'm sure they will fix all that or else every one will either have no items or cant log on. Blizzard wront let that happen but we have a new standard for their games... and we know what to expect from the next Blizzard's game.
Do you live in Australia? Is the game seemingly 'down for maintenance' every night for you (e.g. the ONLY time where you can play the game you've waited a handful of years for)? Did the game go down for maintenance just as you got home from a really crap day at work? No? Then be quiet. If you can't understand why people are bitching after Blizzard failing to deliver on promise after promise then spouting crap about there being no problems on their side re: the hacking fiasco (if that's the case, why are we in maintenance limbo for a 1/3 of a day?) then there is something wrong with you.
Don't give me that 'if you don't like it, don't play it crap' too. Most people don't have problems with the game itself, they have problems with not being able to play the damn thing. I've never had this amount of problems with a game - let alone a Blizzard game.
Doesn't help that Blizzard is shitting on the entire Aussie/NZ gaming community.
I'm not praising them there are stuff i dont like about them and Diablo 3 but nothing major that i would go nerd rage
Not thing major? are you serious? People were hacked WITH authenticator and virus free computer. People lag with top gaming machine. Game breaking bugs 3006 out of no where. We are not talking about game play, customization or skill/status/balance here. We are talking about unable to play the most anticipated game of the century here. Perhaps they might not making as much money as WoW but are you telling me they are not making bank with just all the wow annual passes and all those digital copies and collector edition?
You should be really grateful and just not post here. Where are the understanding for our follow gamers that cant play the game they love? and just voice out that the game blow cause they cant even freaking play this awesome Diablo 2.5. Instead you have to call people ungrateful and defending the money sucking developers that fail to recreate Diablo 2 at launch.
Usually the people who complain about the servers are people who don't have knowledge about what it takes to keep them maintained.
Yes, but i dont sell a car and say, oh, we are expexting that for the first few months it will run like crap, but it will get better as you use it less.
I was on the side of the "relax and stay calm" side, but now im more annoyed than anything.
I got my mates at work into D3, so we could all play a good game together, but its online componant is so irregular that we have not had a chance to do this yet.
Complaining about poor service because it is "Hard to deliver" does not invalidate the fact that the service is bad, and we were not told that they could would have problems providing it.
If i had done this sort of crap to my clients, i would be looking at a lot of refunds i guarantee. But i would not put myself in a position where i could not deliver what I promised.
I feel the same - the game is amazing and a few problems at launch and things to be tweaked going forwards are to be expected. I honestly don't what people expect, and I'm sure that it's an (unfortunately) vocal minority doing the QQ'ing. I have been playing solidly since release and have absolutely zero complaints so far.
Also, I like the AH - had an eBay style bidding war when I spotted something OP under-priced with 12minutes to run to buyout. Unfortunately the other guy won but it was fun all the same
Apparently some people are ok about everything life throws at them. "Product's not working? - It's fine, really. Promises not being held? - who cares? Silly DRM? - Well, whatever. Greedy corporates? - I'm fine with that. Shitty government? It's ok - no need to bitch."
It's that kind of cattle mentality that slows things from becoming better.
To the OP it's not that people are ungrateful or that nobody understands the problem of maintaining servers. It's just that people want the game to work and the game should have had offline mode, to start with, which could negate most of the problems we're facing right now.
The real problem is Blizzards outstanding work. Honestly I'm not shitting you here. If you look at every game out there, then compare that game to a game of a similar genre in Blizzards catalogue, who's in first place? uhhh Blizzard is. and as such people expected nothing short of perfection, which let's be perfectly honest is impossible now-a-days. Now when something so slight goes wrong, "UH-OH BLIZZARD HAS FALLEN THEY SUCK NOW" It's an immature reaction that sadly exists. It's not due to the game itself it's due to how high these peoples expectations were. If you look back at the Launch of WoW vanilla, you'll see it was atrocious, hell any game that has an influx of over 3 million players (Guesstimate) will have severe server problems on day 1. The fact that Blizzard cleaned all of it up by day 3 was surprising. Sure there are some lag issues to be dealt with but people are logging in and beating inferno, so anyone saying this is the worst launch ever should re-evaluate their mental state.
The only real problem is the hacking. It's a problem that they're looking into. Clearly they won't know what to do until they find it's root. so anyone complaining about it is just dumb for doing so. Especially the complaints about "BUT ALWAYS ONLINE WAS SUPPOSED TO STOP THIS!" those are the worst. Especially since it's got nothing to do with botting, or using a hack to gain items or what not, It's a hack that exists to get an account, which can happen to you regardless of if it's online or offline and in any game not just Diablo 3. I find some of these arguments ludicrous and biased, ignorant and un-informed. They're trolls just because they feel on the internet they have a voice, and following en masse with the rest of the populus makes them a badass and, more importantly, right.
The solution, you ask? Ignore them. when they see they only get attention from other retards of the same nature they'll drop off very quickly. Is anyone complainign about server issues now? Oh what you've had none since Day 2? Oh so everything runs fine? Ah, I see well then carry on my friend, carry on.

Not that I don't understand people being upset, but your initial analogy seems like a farse to me. I bought a car last year and brought it back ~4000 later with a few complaints. I was advised to just keep driving it for another couple thousand miles and that once it broke in, these problems would resolve themselves. It's pretty common, actually, to be told to wait out a break in period with a new car
Ah well...

Does diablo undergo 8 hours + maitenence every tuesday like world of warcraft does?

"Starting at 1AM PDT on Tuesday, May 22, Diablo servers will be undergoing routine maintenence, and will be back online at 9AM PDT."
So the correct answer would be yes, they will. At least for this Tuesday anyways

Yeah, we are in fact entitled to a game because we payed for it, that's how it works. If you don't think this is true you are gravely mistaken.

They make a hell of a game, but really, they're well enough off without people's lips attached to their rear ends. Geez. >_<
Except for today ><
