how about a steampunk typish class with a gunsword, and a mechanical golem as a pet. The golem is also his mule, carrying his weapons and upgrades (buffs/debuffs) for the party
If anyone has played Guild Wars 1 there was a scythe wielding class called dervish. I absolutely fell in love with the class especially after you start getting your very religious move sets where you become a demi god of war, healing, and one other i forget. TL;DR, a scythe wielding religious warrior who uses her gods and godesses powers. actually found a wiki.
Serving the gods as holy warriors, dervishes stand confidently in the whirlwind of conflict. Martial techniques perfected in the deserts of Elona allow a Dervish’s scythe to lash out quickly at multiple opponents, surrounding the holy warrior with a swath of destruction. Initiates often learn spells of self-protection, prayers that rush a combatant into battle, and invocations that empower attacks with elemental fury. Masters of the profession can assume the form of a god, enacting divine will with holy blessings. Keenly aware of the conditions of a fight, a Dervish can reap great benefits by using multiple Enchantments. Wandering the savannahs and deserts of Elona, the faithful Dervish chants prayers to the earth and wind... and the fury of the sandstorm answers in response.
I don't see how you wouldn't want another class. I find new classes to be very exciting, while also adding a lot of gameplay since I like to level up and gear basically every class. Also: New builds, gear, play styles, and cool diablo lore come from a new class.

Anyway, Not at Diablo ever... Diablo franchize is a medieval ARPR. Some ideas how fit very well at WoW will never be nice to Diablo indeed. And Blizz will never give a shot at its own foot with something like that. It would make Diablo and WoW compete for players.
But i would love to see a shapeshifter or something like an assassin back and revamped, but i think it would be too close to monks and DH to happens. Druid seems to be the best choice. I'd love too if WD just vanishes from the game and Necromancers came back or become too much different from WD (don't see how, as the necromancer skills was developed with the WD at first, in the jungles of south Kejistan).

Druid would be very nice. But i don't think they have plans for it. Hopefully they will reveal the new expansion.
New expansion without a new class? That would be really cheesy and cheap even for Blizzard.
RoS gave us a new class and map. So people would expect the samething with the 2nd exp.
Only way they could make people happy without a new class is putting a real PvP/arena system ingame. Which I doubt so im sure we will see a new class.
Actually, I don't want another class in the game. I can't really think of a gap that a new class would fill. As for PVP, I understand that some people like it and want it, but I wouldn't play it. Adding another class would make implementing PVP even harder to do while keeping that mode balanced.
Oracle - The spiritual counterpart to Amazons. Ranged Bow and Sword+Shield users who bolster themselves with the power of Skovos' gods
Summoner - Eastern scions of the Viz'jerei mage clan who continued practicing dark summoning and control magic
Druid - Shapeshifter and Nature magic user, calling the spirits of the earth and life to fight evil.
I'd also like to see the new class incorporate a completely new culture, the way Witchdoctors brought in african voodoo or Monks bring in an eastern flavour. Heavy Greek influence for Oracles, Celtic influence for Druid or Persian influence for Summoners (summon Rakshasa, Efreeti, Djinni).

I think 3 new classes would be great, 1 each for Str/Dex/Int.
While I'd love three classes, so I'm not responding to that, I did want to point out that having an equal number of classes for each main stat doesn't matter anymore. Before smart loot, it absolutely mattered because having 3 classes use strength meant you'd find more strength items than anything else.
Now that we've got smart loot, it doesn't matter if there's 19 classes with Strength and only 2 classes for int and dex, because 15% of your loot is random, and no matter how many main stats they add, 85% of your loot will always smart loot to you.
A Necro! - is similar to a WD but- who cares- lots of skellys doing junk is fun- so Id be happy with that
Amazon- spear bow would be OK- but I dont think I'd play it much personally
I think a shapeshifter of some sort would also be cool- not a drood by name- sorta like sorcerer became wizz- very similar but small adjustments to make it distinct in flavor.
Meh- whatever it is I'll still play wizz the most :-)

I personally think a Necromancer is most likely. They're already in the game (a couple of bounties and story lines mention them), and I think they're very much a fan favourite. They were kind of a staple in the Diablo franchise because of the dark, evil, sort of death-like theme of the game. The only thing I don't see is how it would play. Witch Doctors do a lot of what a Necromancer used to do in Diablo 2 (Pets, Summons, Debuffs, DOTs, etc.), so I think they'd need a whole new theme of the class.
Druids are very popular as well, but I'm not entirely sure if they'd fit in with the play style of Diablo 3. Especially with the Witch Doctor having a monopoly on pets at the moment. If it were to specifically focus on the shapeshifting aspect the Druid had in D2, that could be cool. That would open up a lot of options in terms of gearing and sets. Perhaps have a different shape for each element available to the class, each with a specific set catering to that shape. Could be really really fun and diverse. Thinking about that kinda makes me want the Druid/Shapeshifter as the next class.

The hardest thing in this world, is to live in it.
A lot of people seem to want a Druid in D3, but Blizz seem more interested in creating new takes on familiar classes so far with the game...
So how about this take on the Druid type class? I'm thinking call them a Shaman, and have them be a melee fighter who channels the elemental forces of nature to empower their attacks. So one ability could be for them to unleash specific elemental damage with each swing of their weapon, like waves of fire or lighting drifting around them after each hit. On top of that, they could channel spirit animals which partially transform them in order to buff their skills and abilities. Channel the spirit of a bear would make them more of a tank for example, while the spirit of the wolf would increase attack power.
Don't take this as me trying to be a jerk, because this is a legitimate question for you: How is what you are suggesting any different than the way that the monk operates with it's mantras, or crusader with their auras, or barbs with their shouts? I am interested in knowing how you can see that class' actions be unique from the others.

I'm thinking it'll be a shifter, but not a druid.
It'll be a demon themed shifter, who fights the forces of hell by using their own forms against them.
They'll have a tanky form, a melee damage form and a ranged caster form, using Str, Dex and Int respectively.
It'll be AWESOME.

Haaammmm... a .... Monk?!?!
Well i'm expecting the class and a revamp to brawling or the addition of a new pvpve mode like TD or something.

I don't care what the class is, as long as it has a playstyle similar to the Rabies/Fury wolf in D2
Steampunk doesn't work with the Nephalem concept. There's no point in tapping into great inner power when machines do all the work for you.
So much cross pollination with Warcraft, but I guess it's inevitable.
Lets get CREATIVE.
Necodruid.
Can shapeshift into abominations and summon fierce kittens and owls.
BOOM!
