how about a steampunk typish class with a gunsword, and a mechanical golem as a pet. The golem is also his mule, carrying his weapons and upgrades (buffs/debuffs) for the party

Even if there is no RNG in the game, those who want to moan and complain still will moan and complain -_- We should better admit that in its current state, D3 is not nearly a well balanced competition game. There is no equation that would connect time spent grinding and GRift lvl, just pure luck on top of skills. And sometimes, even if you're lucky as hell with your drops, something different comes to slap you in the face...

I'm not a pro player, rather casual, GR 39 is still my record for now, Para 320. But I've always played HC because I like the thrill and I don't like to be reckless Glass Cannon that has nothing to lose. And guess what? Yesterday I've finally got my Ancient BK sword, then within an hour I've got Gift for it! Yep, I was so happy, cleared GR 39 without any troubles. RNG is good for me?

Today I decided to run some GRs, enetred 27 lvl, faced an Elite with Arcane affix - and BOOM! Someone decides that it's a good moment to switch off electricity in my district. Just for 2-3 minutes, but that was enough - hello, Old Friend, Smoky Screen! Bye-bye, my weapon and Gift, i'll be missing you!

So, if it's not for RNG, then real life shit kicks in.

But what did I do? Did I wrote a topic at DiabloFans about how cruel life is and how I will never be able to get to leaderboards because of who knows what? Did I revive an old HC topic about protection from disconnects? Nope, I just created new Barb and continued playing. I still have more than 2 months of Season 3 to get lucky again (and probably RIP again)!

So, everyone who is sad about not getting their desired items, just cheer up, go smash some demon skulls and remember that you didn't get your items YET! In Season 2 I've managed to enter Leaderboards just 2 days before the Season ended. Yes, it was a boring 800-something place, but I was happy, because I didn't even hope to get there! GL and HF, friends!

did you know you can request for roll back? you can revive your dead toon that way - so it's not good bye old friend just yet. but keep in mind that each account is entitled to 3 rollbacks only. Also, once you've rolled back, you won't be able to undo if you change your mind.

there's always something to complain about regarding D3 isn't it? If it isn't about players who got onto the leaderboards thru GR fishing, it's about why another set legendary from another class is more OP, or it's about players chasing paragon levels..... it never ends.

Just play the game the way you want to play it and enjoy yourself. Yes, the game does frustrate us at times. God knows I've thrown countless mice out my window in a fit of anger; but that's why we love and hate this friggin game. It torments us and like gluttons we come back for more punishment.

If your play style is more aggressive then play it the way you like it - go full DPS

If your goal is to chase paragon levels and want to reach P10000000, then go for it

If you love climbing the leaderboards, then focus on your own craft and hone your play skills

There is something for everyone, not ONE for everyone.

    Quote from GrnArcher»
Okay, I read the guides somewhere that said Ancient Devastator < Ancient Maximus for Firebird 2.1.2. Based on my sheet dps, Ancient Devastator(+ancient Firebird source) slightly out-damage my Ancient Maximus. So, is Maximus really better? Or, are people comparing 2h vs 1h without Ancient Source? Or is it because Maximus is a 2hander and its Demon chain?

    Thanks.
hmmmm... your numbers don't add up. Fire skill with Maximus (18%) is 97%; Fire skill with Devastator (20%) is 133%. Even if you have a FB Source with perfect 20% - Devastor + FB Source would bring your total Fire skill to 119%. Where did the additional 14% come from?

If you remove the 14% - your maximus still trumps devastator.

Also, with DoT builds the damage is base of the white range numbers on your weapon. The ancient Maximus is 3271-4279 whereas the Devastator is 2037-2712. So you will see greater ticks from DoTs applied using the Maximus.

Blizzard What should I do to drop it?
Step one: post in the correct thread.

    Moved to RNG.

Welcome to the club - I've got about the same amount of hours played on my wizard, including 160k shards spent on 1h weapons, no Wand of Woh. RNG. Got every other item in the game though... SMK, 2 Krider, 2 Shukrani's, 4 Akarat's Awakenings, 2 Furnace, 3 Star of Azkaranths, 5 Rimeheart, ... but no freaking WoW.

I know your pain Bagstone. I'm P739 and still no Wand of Woh. But I am oddly luckier with other ultra rares. Within a period of less than a week in Dec, 3 SMKs dropped and all rolled better than the one I was using originally. I would gladly give away those SMKs and all the extra ultra rares (5 Furnaces, 7 Xehpirians, 3 Shukranis, 5 Star of Azaranths, 3 Talismans of Aranoch, 3 Rimehearts, 4 Calamity's, 2 Kridershots.......) for just 1 Wand of Woh. Perhaps we'll have better luck in Patch 2.1.2 since the drop rates for Ultra Rares will be significantly increased... here's hoping

Likewise for the Demon Hunter, whilst he can dish out insane damage, he is pretty much a glass cannon.
What a bull**it. DH lives better than the monk. A way better. Because DH doesnt' have to get hit in the face he can just run around waiting for his turrets to kill monsters. No balance in D3 atm.
The DH can't afford to get hit. A monk with serenity and epiphany is basically unkillable. I know that the game right now is not balanced - the way we play this game at the moment is governed by the set legendaries that Blizz releases into the game. I used to play Wiz exclusively but I'm really not fond of Boringbird - and the play style is really not my cup of tea. What I'm trying to say in my earlier post - I'm looking at each class base on their current strengths and play them tactically. Very much like how you would deploy a squad of special forces. Until Blizz brings the other classes up to the level of Barb and DH... I'm just gonna have as much fun as I can with what's on the table

There are limitations unique to each class. The monk for example, can survive a nuclear nuke beneath his feet, but his damage output will never be as high as say a Demon Hunter. Likewise for the Demon Hunter, whilst he can dish out insane damage, he is pretty much a glass cannon. The classes are created that way for balance, and in a way to promote group play. I play mainly 3 classes now, Monk, DH & WD. DH for very efficient farming of mats, getting GR43+ keystones & solo GR; Sunwuko Monk for T6 rifts and up to GR35; WD for T6 rifts and up to GR40. As for party situations, it all depends on the group I'm with, I can either play my DH or zDPS monk or zDPS WD; and in a good party we can go beyond GR45+ =)

Yup... ammy is amulet. there are a few amulets you can look out for which will be pretty good.. of course the best in slot will be a Hellfire Amulet, the next best will be immunity amulets: Countess (Arcane) and Xephirian (Lightning)... then there's Traveler's Pledge to go with your compass rose

Here's my current setup. it's by no means perfect, but i did manage to clear GR40 with it

posted a message on Several Questions to Improve my DH
Hi there... the dmg loss that you see will be mainly due to the atk speed loss. Looking at your current set up, you're only hitting the 2.842 breakpoint, so whatever excess atk speed you have is wasted. If you swap over to the Etrayu, you'll be hitting the same 2.842 breakpoint. It being a bow and has cold% dmg, you'll be hitting harder actually (I'm assuming you have cold% dmg and +dmg% rolled on your Bow)

Some recommended rerolls/item change for your consideration:

    1. You have trifecta Taskers - ditch the vit and reroll that to 10% crit chance.

    2. Natalya's reflection - you're better off with a cold SoJ or Compass Rose for party; and unity for solo ... i personally prefer the Compass Rose for the extra stat slot.

    3. Bracers - Slave Bonds will be best in slot here with cold% and 6% CC

    4. Ammy - ideally you want cold%, CC, CHD & socket... if not, Dex, CC,CHD & socket

    5. Helm - 15% cluster arrow + 6% CC

    6. Shoulders - try to find one with 8% cooldown reduction with 15% sentry

    7. Belt - if you don't have a Witch Hour, Hellcat is a good alternative... if you prefer more survivability, then try String of Ears.
