I got a total of 148 paragon levels but it sucks because it's 72, 47, 13, 8, 4...
So yeah my account wide paragon should be like 80 i guess?
I'm going to believe the first 100 will "cost" less experience than a p100 costs right now - even if it was straight up the same and only gets more expensive from there you'll probably be in the 80 to 85 range. The 13, 8 and 4 probably dont total that much xp but the 47 is some decent xp.
Lyirra (sp?) confirmed that it will be averaged paragon experience that determines shared paragon.
So 1 p100 char > 20 p10 chars.
Total experience counts, so the only way you're wasting time now is playing a p100 char.

Source? Latest info i got is this:
"also, what happens to the people who've already leveled up in Paragon?
@peli_can_flip Bonuses are retroactive. I.E. If you have two p100 heroes right now, the current plan is that you'd have 200 points in ROS. (Twitter)"
lets hope it depends on experience and not paragon levels

@DBraveZ@peli_can_flip Wyatt just updated me. Your shared Paragon level will be calculated by adding up Paragon EXP across all your heroes.
Basically, gain more EXP on your non-100 characters. It's not the actual levels being shared, it's the total EXP accumulated so far by all your characters.
The only players that may be screwed from this are those who run only one character (say paragon 100 with 3,000 hours of play time). The 5x paragon 100 players will enjoy the greatest benefits, and they should as they put in the work to level more characters.

They chose *IMHO* the best way to do it - no one really gets screwed - about the only current investments (as you mentioned) is the 5xP100 max people - and really, if you're that hardcore (read: insane) making a 6th character that's a different build from a p100 you already have would be a reasonable way to keep claiming even more paragon xp.
I like this. It pretty much means you should just level whatever class you like most, and if you have a p100 wizard, just level a second one if you don't want to waste XP.
I see a few of the "elitists" going for max Paragon 1000. With alot of time left til the Free Patch, 1000 Plvls = 1000 hours via Barbs with really great gear doing MP10. Myself, got to 120 hours 1-100 with terrible internet and only doing MP8 1-60 alone.
Lvl 10 Barbs to 60, Lvl 10 Barbs to 100 Paragon (Bills on Bills of EXP), Sit on em til the Patch = Win?

It's actually a very pretty result. If you compute the total amount exp with two characters and the corresponding account-wide paragon level, you get a nice circular pattern
(and dammit, I don't have Excel 2007 on this computer for nicer colors <_< )
(number on both axes are the plvl of each toon)
Not surprisingly, the result of adding two Plvls is less than the sum of the Plvls (which was kinda the point I guess).
Next step is to calculate the hours necessary to reach it, depending on the plvl of each toon
I must admit I also feel a little screwed. 1200 hours on my barb and no other characters. I'm pretty disappointed. I hope they change it and just start us all at 100 ( assuming we leveled to 100 ).

I dont get how you can calculate this when we dont how much exp will be required after paragon 100 yet. Once we know this we can figure out what our account wide paragon level will be given our total exp from all characters.

We don't even know if the 1-100 paragon levels will remain the same, honestly.
Given how many rewards can be purchased I sincerely doubt that they're going to use the same curve. Hell they may even go a flat XP value per point. But I really doubt that paragon level 500 is going to be like 4 billion XP or something like that. That almost makes next to no sense at all.

Excellent point here. I'm expecting a change in the curve myself. I think there is two possibilities. One being that they keep the current level experience and have every level after 100 being equal the amount of experience required to go from 99 to 100. Second option is that they change the curve by adding some type of multiplier. I'm not good at math so I'll give a poor example but everyone should understand. Let's say paragon zero to one is 7million experience. The next level will be multiplied by like 1.25. So each level is multiplied. Since the amount is infinite I don't think they will program each experience level required into the game because will hypothetically you could reach level 100,000,000,000,000,000. They will likely program it to multiply each level by x amount of the previous. Or as I suggested first make all levels > 100 equal.
I can't see how the paragon levels can continue to be exponential if they use a system where when you gain a paragon level you gain a single solitary point to spend on one character. That wouldn't be fair for alternate character to need a vast amount more experience to place a first point into versus your very first character (who may already have used 100 points).
The only way I can see paragon levels remaining exponential would be if when you gain a level every single character you have at max level (and will ever attain max level in the future) will gain a point. I don't think they are going this route though.
My guess is you gain one point for a solitary character, but by a certain point (if not right away) it flatlines. Who knows, the first point might need as much experience as say, level 50 does right now, and it never changes at all? Or it could just be the way it is now all the way to 100, and then every subsequent level is 99-100 all over again. Only time will tell, but I like the flatline from the get-go! It's fair for ALT characters. But then I do want it to remain a challenge to, so it's hard for me to really say.
My assumption was that points are account wide and "gaining a point" would be effectively gaining a point for each character.
I assumed the characters shared stats, but that would simply mean resetting and re-tweaking when you change characters.
As for the infinite levels, I assume the Core/Attack/Defense stats will have caps on them (the 50 for each core as shown) but the Utility Stats (at least some of them) being infinite (Magic Find, Gold Find) so once you've maxed out all your stats, you can still have gains from increasing your paragon level, but if you're going from 500% to 501% gold/magic find, then obviously it's very diminishing returns.

Give it a couple days. Then all the people who quit the game at pLvl 14 will start whininig that they're victims of this calculation.

"Poor" is the last term I'd use in combination with any of these streaming billionaires.
Guess I'm off to level another character.
I was the same as you. Played my 100 wizard for a long time. Then decided to try DH and at least got that to 50+
But now I have an incentive to try to get to 100 on her before the expansion hits!
