posted a message on BIS Amulet stats in 2.1
Pretty straight forward actually (IMHO) for most "great but not world best" eq loadouts 750 stat is probably somewhere around 6-8% of your total main stat

    10% CC is usually around 1/5th (20%)

    100% CHD is around 1/4th (25%)

Elemental is probably 20-25% of your Elemental bonus

and the sockets will grant unique abilities which are build changing and can probably never be done without again....

About the only thing mainstat has going for it in the background is the additional defensive capabilities but it represents an even tinier fraction of either Armor or All Resist.

The poll that REALLY needs to be answered is how much would you give up for a new eq slot that could take those sweet sweet legendary gems....

posted a message on Item/Option to reset weapon to original form
I must really be confused: If you rolled a stat off a current weapon you could always (if you wanted to) reroll that stat right back on to that spot (socket or not)- in short you can always get the weapon you "had" back -

After 2.1 if you found a weapon with a socket you could roll that to something else - THEN use RG to put a socket on it - in essence gaining an extra affix.

How/Why is it necessary to have any changes made?

It seems to me that the new Firebirds bonus means you can still stack this effectively - although you'd probably want a spender to get to max burn rate faster.

Don't forget - you dont need it to roll a 5th one you want - you only need it to roll *most likely* one you already have selected - then you pick the 5th one. With 18 passives and 4 selected your odds of getting either one you already have or one you'd want are almost 25%,

If the dev team wants to be REALLY generous they could automatically roll CHD, or CC.

/of course with gems we're going to want a socket on that sucker as well.

posted a message on How to make Death's Breath Useful
I made a post 3 months back or so - I feel the same way about DB's - there are things about them that I really think make them a useful "currency" to be spent in the game: You must find them yourself, they can only be acquired by playing the game, being in the zone and actually (for the most part) participating. Sure there are a few ways you could limp along behind someone clearing for you on higher T levels but by and large getting significant numbers of them is a simple as playing.

I've probably got almost 2500 stored of them in my play time - I'm sure there are many people who have multiples of that number. Seems to me they should be used for something.

posted a message on Higher T-Levels inbound?
Full Disclosure: I've never made a successful T6 character but my Wizard and WD are both very capable in T5, solo or group (and not in the hang back and hope not to die way either)

Looking at some of the datamined info coming out of the PTR I can see how a character which is already T6 capable becoming VERY capable of facerolling T6 - some of the legendary affixes are amazing and having a 5th passive would really incredible (thoughts on what these do to set items is another matter)

I can't help but wonder if T7-T10 are eventual outcomes or if these potential additions to gear/skills are simply what it will take to progress very far in Greater Rifts. I suppose it ammounts to the same thing really but I can see people wanting a bit more challenge out of normal rifts or even (shudder) bountry running/adventure mode.

posted a message on New AFK Farming Spot 300mil+exp/hr and Legendaries
    Quote from Galedorn

almost certain nobody is getting banned for this, its not really an exploit its more like clever use of game mechanics, it will be fixed as the other afk methods before and the afk'ers will find something new and blizz will fix that, and the dance continues and anyone getting butthurt over people using it get over it they are only cheating themselves its a singleplayer game with a coop element nothing anyone else does has a bearing on your playing of the game
I couldnt disagree more - every time they "fix" one of these things it hurts the people who actually play the game - which is EXACTLY why we have white mobs that arent worth any xp, dont drop anything and are completely useless objects - there to be "killed" only if theyre actually in your way from running from point A to point B or you need 100 of them to complete a bounty.

The game is not being patched in a vacuum where they only "fix" the code for those exploiting bugs. Every change they make ultimately affects every player and we've already been shown that the fixes typically remove something from those playing the game.

posted a message on So I opened 100 Horadric Caches.
I would have guessed lower on the legendary % - Ive probably opened 25+ and gotten (I believe) 1 legendary (it is at most 2). But I guess RNG is RNG and my sample size is pretty small.

I guess I cant complain the rewards for bounties in xp and gold arent bad given some of them take mere moments but there is one thing that strikes me as "why even bother" about the cache rewards:

    Why give ONE blood shard?

I mean, the purple text color is pretty to see but one shard seems...insufficient.

posted a message on The Elephant In The Room ; Sockets
I've got to agree that "adding" a socket felt WAY more awesome when it was just a straight up addition. Sure you paid a price but it was icing on the cake. Now it's "do I want chocolate or vanilla cake" because you can't have both.

There is not enough "THIS" in the world to summarize my agreement that weapons without sockets are useless - it is this ONE area where I think they should make a solid exception to the give and take of affix substitution:

Make it expensive, hell make it 20 FS's +20 million gold, 1 flawless royal gem of each color - I'd have to work a loooong time but at least at the end of the day I'd know that the addition without loss was worth it.

posted a message on Follower with cool down reduction question:
I found the unique that give you all of your followers skills for the Templar - now I'm wondering if cool down reduction works on his gear to affect how often he can use those skills. Does anyone know for sure? Given the few slots probably cant get a ton of reduction but even 25% would keep those sweet sweet mega heals incoming.

That's what I was hoping to hear, thanks for the reply. Companies are all over the place now a days - some offer a seamless transaction while other make you navigate to some obscure menu with a 28 digit code in hand.

posted a message on This is going to seem like some REALLY stupid questions...
I stopped playing D3 for a while, got back into it when I started reading about RoS and have been playing a lot (P125 today)

    I bought RoS.

Is there anything I should see in game that says "Hey, you bought RoS?"

On Battle.net it says "Download Client" but I assumed that was D3 (which I am already playing way too much). Is there any pre-downloading of the client that can be done or does all that happen in the background? As far as I know I havent activated any kind of code - I just ordered it and payed for it on battle.net but haven't done anything as far as I know, with the actual game.

Basically I need to know if I am so incredibly dense that after paying for it, I am unsure if I should actually have had to do anything else (activate, download etc) I blame STEAM personally - way too easy.

posted a message on Explanation Please - Why is Everything Account Bound?
As mentioned the problem was with the trading - legal or otherwise. It made it about 100x's easier to go find the item you wanted from the auction - they HAD to make the drop rate shitty because any reasonable amount of legendaries per hour would put a million of them into circulation every day.

I would expect (although it hasnt been announced) that drop rates will improve somewhat as soon as the auction house dies. Most of the stuff is BoA anyway so I'm not sure why they would wait... but...

Gear progression from 60 to 70 will also hyperinflate the gear stats so much that any non-BOA legacy stuff will be so crappy by comparison its value will drop to near zero.

posted a message on How to get guaranteed legendary?
It's playing time - not real world time. Apparently they also have some means of insuring its not just "log in and stand around in town" while you go to work or whatever. I'd say its probably in the neighborhood of a 2 hr max - assuming you're playing. It could be some combo of play time over monsters killed ratio.

I seriously doubt they will ever tell us the exact mechanics behind the "safety net" as there are plenty of people who will immediately go looking for a way to abuse it.

For the life of me I cant imagine why they feel the need to move the SK legendary drop to Diablo - you still have to complete the entire game between SK kills. I made the mistake of resetting, and unless I missed something you spend HOURS finishing the game again. I think for the 1 "freebie"I got 4 more (so far) and I just made it back to Act 4.
