posted a message on DiabloFans says farewell. Let's celebrate the good old times once more!

I'm not surprised by the shutdown since updates on the franchise became sporadic and Diablo 3 stale.... But that doesn't make me feel less sad than i am right now.

I knew this site since Diablo 3 was first announced and damn, i browsed it daily to look for news. Then Diablo 3 1.0 was released and we know how the game was back then: not too good, but we hanged on, discussed how to make the game better and still farming our asses off to trade on the AH, grind Paragon levels for Magic Find (remember that?) or just punish ourselves with some Solo Self Found Hardcore mode (i did it).

Then RoS was released and that was the peak moment for Diablo 3 and Diablo Fans: everyone, myself included, posted their own build, be it janky or not but still viable for Torment 4 to 6; we had Dfans clans in both US and EU; we made parties to farm rifts and we chatted all the time.... Too bad it didn't last as long as i hoped. Greater Rifts arrived and they pidgeonholed us into meta builds and we hoped Season resets would help giving us a breath of fresh air once in a while, but they didn't last either. Obviously after all the scrapped features from expansion n° 2 were implemented in RoS, updates became slow.... to sporadic to basically nill and that made many of the players i met on the site and clan stop playing, myself included.... It's a shame, but Diablo 3 couldn't manage to live on the legacy of Diablo 2....

Well, i'll probably still click on the bookmarked main page of this site after the shutdown for nostalgia, hopefully the archive will stay here.

Thanks guys for the great time.

posted a message on diablo 3 FPS spikes - GTX 970

If you are using the 64bit client, try leaving all community chats. I had some strange fps drops too on a 970 (i mean, more weird than usual but D3 always did that) and by leaving those chats it fixed for me.

    Otherwise launch the 32bit client.

posted a message on Question: Why would you even want a D4 annoucment at Blizzcon 2016?
    Quote from Kengax»

    Quote from Bleu42»

Everything I'd like to see CAN be implemented within D3. However, I'm not sure blizzard is willing to risk drastically changing D3, so a D4 announcement would be exciting because it means they would essentially have a clean slate to work with.

Maybe blizz could make a stand-alone expansion then make some drastical changes to d3 to that.
Going stand alone is the best way to make a new, hypothetic, expansion for D3. This way they can keep RoS like this and start anew without making a new game; classes, spells, graphic can be reused but with a different itemization, game system and not stacking insane damage multiplier for a new level cap.
New players can buy D3X2 without buying Vanilla and Ros, which is a nice saving while, hopefully, Diablo 3 will go into a more RPG direction like the predecessor and other games of the genre out there right now.

posted a message on What are your most favorite aspects of a Diablo game?

Well, i can say the item hunt and character building, both aspects that were butchered patch after patch in RoS.

In Diablo 2 and PoE i can enjoy the leveling process because each time i know the build i envisioned (read: copied) is shaping up and at key level i get the talent that gives my character a nice boost.

Then i can always find a good item in the lower levels to keep me company instead of tossing away 2-3 levels after, which requires 10 minutes if you are slow, because the damage stats increase so much.

That's why i was happy for seasons but D3, in this state, doesn't bring the good feeling of journey while starting a new character because everything is the same and it doesn't matter until you reach max level, while i never reached the cap in D2 or PoE but i enjoyed farming while leveling up.

Basically, i never had an endgame in Diablo 2 and i never felt the need for one.

So, what i want from Diablo? The rpg and character building that was lost when it was decided that the game had to be build around max level and items dictating how your character has to be played, which lead to the loot hunt to being almost removed completly because base spells are terrible without augumentations and the insane difficulty stack lead to give everyone a fast way to experience the "endgame", which became a paragon grind and gem leveling.

posted a message on Which class will you use to start Season 8?

Well, i like only 3 classes: demon hunter, barbarian and crusader and it's time for the flail and shield warrior to be played this season.

posted a message on Your class in season 7?

Still undecided. I love DH but i dislike UE even if it's the free set this season and it's the best for farming and do GR with minimal effort; what happened to Natalya RoV? :S

Crusader.... i like the class but it's sets are meh at best. I have no intention to give me carpal tunner with Blessed Hammer stutter step while spamming for abilities or be a Punish bot or wait for Bombardment cd if i ever get full ancient Invoker with LoN.

Barbarian.... i loved the Leap Quake build but really disliked the IK-Raekor hybrid because it was too spammy.

AAAND i don't really play the other classes that much, i just don't understand their spells and mechanics.

So yeah, i think it will be the worst season for me. :(

posted a message on Would you play season 7 (or any season) if no stash tab given?

I'm in a mindset i wouldn't play season if extra tabs weren't a reward. I like the combat and i like farming for items... if they weren't dropping from the sky. I guess Diablo 3 GR endgame isn't what i look for in the long run in an ARPG but looking for rare items.... :(

posted a message on How many stash tabs do you need to be "satisfied"

Always one more than what we have! /s

I never had too much problems with my storage because i'm only attached to Demon Hunter and i keep the various sets updated while other classes only have one set of (bad) gear and i forget.

I have good memories of Torchlight's statsh system with one chest for your current character while another is shared so i think for D3 we could use 1 or 2 tabs per character with a 3-4 tabs for shared gear and materials?

posted a message on What class you going to play on Season 6?

Going back to DH. Last season i wanted to play the Shadow Mantle set but played a Barb to climb some GR with a friend so never had the chance to try Impale build outside a fast conquest. Now i'll take that chance and play a bit more relaxed. :P

posted a message on Poll: Are you going to play season or non-seasonal?

I'll play new season and try to complete the journal again but i won't try hard as i did this season; it's extremely taxing with GR fishing and Paragon grind.

No point on playing No-Season because i'll just skip the gearing part with fully decked characters and it's just the same thing, GR fishing and endless Paragon grind.

I just wish the item hunt would last more than 2-3 days....

Edit: i'll asnwer your questions, totally skipped those <.<'

    • Are you going to make a sprint for the stash tab or are you even going to skip that? Not a sprint, but i'll get the new stash tab, no matter what!
    • What did you play in the previous five patches (season or NS)? Always season, my main non-season DH from Vanilla is suffering a lot....
    • What's your reason to play season or non-season in 2.4.1, respectively? Well, i like a new start and regearing up a new character so season is a good way to enjoy the best part of a ARPG.
    • What factors are most important for your decision (what streamers do, what your clan does, what your friends list does, where the perceived majority of players is, where leaderboards are easier to reach/more contested, or what this poll tells you ;-))? The few friends that still play this game usually go season and we all agree it's fun to start over and work again on a new character. Too bad the magic ends in a week or two <.<' Really, who cares about streamers outside of build guides? :P

posted a message on Is progression too fast?

This is the season i tryharded the most, without a doubt.... but i think giving a free complete set for easy tasks was a bit too much. It basically killed the early progression of the item hunt and forced players into a playstyle from max level. That's my main gripe, everything else is just the same old Diablo with paragon grind and GR fishing.

Auguments are still a good idea but key farming has to go sooner or later.

posted a message on Best supp for 2-3 players GR

    Good bost from Midknite.

I would say that after a while i switched to Hota Globe from WW/Sol barb because my Twister Wizard pal suffered a lot during a single target boss and Hota with Solanium is the best in that case.

The biggest cons i think there are for this build are less survability even with high level Esoteric and Mutilation, Fury management (if by chance you hit more than 3 monsters, you dump a lot of fury and lose Aquila's buff) and monsters are more spread out.

posted a message on Have you reported botters before

Yes, i did to that e-mail adress and after a day the botter was temp banned and his character roll backed a month or so, the time he started botting.

The in-game report feature is useless.

Why did i do that? Because it rubs me the wrong way seeing players farming infinite amount of keys, paragon and cube materials when they are not even at home while i do through those chores to make my character better to tackle down Greater Rifts.

posted a message on Conquests in Season 5

I wanted to do Master of the Universe but Wastes set dungeon is retarded then i realized: "I'm an idiot, i can easily gamble two sets for another class and faceroll my way for Years of War!" And that's what i did. Piece of cake.
