Not entirelly sure why you think its needed to tell everyone that you got a refund?
Some may call this fanboi-ism, so say what you will. The fact that you gave the developers your money and played their game for 65 hours, only to decide you didn't like it and wanted a refund in the first place is flat out retarded. You basically pirated their game, you played it as much as you wanted to then threw it away and got all your money back - if thats not the closest thing to piracy I don't know what is.
Wrong, this game is made to be replayable and not for a one time run like Mario. Games are different today, especially Blizzards. Besides, it is their policy, they accept return within 30 days. Wtf did I pirate? They should thank me that actually had some hope with it, that I gave it so much time to try and enjoy it. And I'm even overlooking the fail launch day and the never ending maintenance, lag and bugs. It's almost as though I paid for a beta.
And the point of me sharing it is so that other Diablo fans that are completely disappointed with the game can still have some hope of not letting their money go to waste,
I really don't see what the fuss is about. The guy asked for a refund and Blizzard granted it to him. There is no point in asking why Blizzard would do such a thing. There is no point in getting on the guy because he wanted a refund. Played time doesn't matter if Blizzard decided to give him the refund. So to all of you who are getting on the OPs case, back down... let it go, move on with your life. Your satisfaction in the game is not in any way related to one person's opinions. Smile, nod and move the fuck on.
Good.
When the going gets tough, the noobs & casuals get going.
Blizzard is paying for their own spoiled WoWscrubs.
It's people like this who never do anything great, because they give up.
Take this as an example everyone. Laugh at this person when the BIG BAD HORRIBLE BUGS are fixed, expansion(s) are out, & this game is thriving.
65 hours.. Jesus fucking Christ. 65 hours of gaming for $60 & you asked for a refund.
Fuck off. I don't care if I get banned for saying that.
That's unacceptable for any product. That's like eating a whole bag of chips & returning it because the crumbs on.the bottom weren't big enough.
God damn crybaby. Get the fuck off the forums & leave the people with common sense & patience alone while we enjoy the game.
Wow, and you. You are an asshole. To get this upset because someone asked for and was granted a refund. It seems to me that you need to unplug for a while, eat a big bag of shut the fuck up and rethink your life. Who the hell cares if he got a refund. If you want to be pissed off about it? Be pissed at Blizzard for granting the refund request. Obviously Blizzard decided that his reasons were good enough to grant the request. As I mentioned earlier. Your enjoyment of the game is in no way changed by one person asking for and getting a refund.
Haha I love the hate and anger in this thread. People getting so pissy and upset because he destroyed the game and found it unsatisfying. Good for you for getting a refund, and good for you for not being blind to how this game really pales to Diablo 2. Yes when I say Diablo 2 I am talking vanilla Diablo 2, 1.01 Diablo 2. Back when we had loot, no level req uniques, ect. You couldn't hit max level in that game in a day and then have nothing to do but waste your life trying to find an item with 1 better stat, or be required to pay millions of gold for what..an item that is honestly really worth 500k at best?
Inferno..ha what a joke. Inferno is a gimmick, a bad 1 at that. Its either not even challenging when you get the right gear, or it is instant kill till you find right gear, nothing entertaining about that.
The blind love for this game is beyond me, the blind hate for Diablo 2 is also beyond me.
Only reason Blizz is giving out refunds is because.of the political pressure from overseas.
They raided in Korea or something for refunds.
Now everyone is on the bandwagon to get their money back to prove a point or whatever.
Even after playing 65 hours, when most single-player games for the same price are around 10 hours for the story.. Which is pretty much the whole game.
BS.
Had Blizz not been raided, you wouldn't have received jack shit.
I hope you're nice & smug.
Err. Snug.

Just.....
Wow.
Yes, I hope your head explodes.
So many of the arguments in this thread are just plain retarded. Anyone who thinks 65 hours spent in an online game is a lot of time needs their head examined. This game is supposed to last.. Diablo 2 lasted quite a long time, even when it first came out most people didn't get bored with it as fast as people are getting bored of Diablo 3.
There's so many reasons why this game could be boring to someone, the biggest and most overlooked reason is that Diablo 2 existed. Most of us played the shit out of Diablo 2, so much, that any similar game ends up not holding our interest for long, because we already played D2 until it was just plain boring.
Anyways.. Who cares if he got a refund? Are you mad that Blizzard didn't get that person's money and now the game is going to die without it? Blizzard has money to throw around, so that can't be the case. Is it that it's morally wrong? It's suddenly wrong for someone to return something they don't like? This isn't rocket science.
I feel torn. On the one hand, the gameplay was solid and fun from Normal - Hell mode. The damage and hp curve of the mobs felt right. On the other hand... there is Inferno, which is the most overtuned and frusterating mess of a difficulty level. Blizzard botched Inferno so horribly that it's hard to argue against people demanding a refund.
To be clear, I have no problems with gear checks, I also have no problems with unforgiving gameplay mechanics. One of my favorite games of the past couple years is Demon and Dark Souls. I had the foolish idea that Inferno mode would play somewhat like these games. Favoring skillful use of kiting, defending, and skill management to best your foes. I knew gear would factor in and was ready for that. What I had not expected was for gear to be the only factor required to progress. Not only that, for a game that requires gear as heavily as Inferno mode does you'd think the gear that dropped from said difficutly would be of appropriate level.
Is it just me or does the whole sense of accomplishment from downing difficult foes feel dimished when you realize it was all thanks to your gear. Your personal ability and reaction times had almost no part in how that encounter went down.
I'm still waiting for Blizzard to announce what their plans are for Inferno mode, but at this moment in time I don't blame the TC for wanting a refund.
65 hours is more time than a lot of my games get. I don't understand why they refunded your money.
It was a hopeful grind, I was trying my best to be optimistic that it will get better and enjoy the game. Unfortunately that never happened. Besides, like I wrote, I lost items on the AH due to the idiotic bugs, too laggy etc. But that was just technical things, I'm sure you'll understand why I REALLY don't like it. Anyways, I thank Diablo 2/LOD for good teenage memories, it was a simpler time.
I just don't see it. If I don't like a game I don't spend 65 hours on it.
eh, well, not going to go for a refund, Blizz might breathe some life into this again, but after enjoying nightmare through hell, inferno is is just terrible. Act 2 is way too punishing, and I could farm Act 1 I guess, except that Act 1 is way too easy, I can barely log on anymore without feeling instantly bored
Maybe I just grew up, who knows. But it just doesn't feel right, nothing about it does.
More interested in FPS games now and no, not COD.
Yes, because FPS's are "grown up".
I'm a milsim freak. I don't think a COD kiddie would last long in Arma 2 or Project Reality.
Btw, to the people that are bored with D3 and want to try something new for less try the ultimate Zombie Survival mod with an open persistent world, 'DayZ'. That thing is addictive as hell.
Hmmm.. Well.. Blizzard stood up to PC games while everyone else said it was a dead market. Steam sells PC games for 5 bucks and people buy them to play 10 hours and stop.
You, on the other hand, may very well spend 200 dollars in a drunk night in a club for about 6-7 hours of which you will remember about 15 minutes, but think that 65 hours of gameplay is not worth your 60 dollars.
Tell me why should blizzard try to improve making games that last forever instead of making 6-months FPS like COD or selling martinis.
Sarcasm gone, you probably did that only to show to people how disappointed you were and I would bet 1 thousand dollars happily if someone could guarantee to pay me back that you will buy the game again in the next months or at most when the first expansion is out and everyone start talking about the improvements they made into the game. This may sound funny, or righteous, or you may be thinking "now they know they screwed up", but you pratically are making their way of making games inviable and telling them that they should stop making games that should last more than 10 horus or free of monthly fees.

Like other posters on here stated, Diablo is a franchise that is meant to be replayed. What is the point of AH and RMAH then and the different builds and randomized events? Why would someone be expected to spend real life money for a one-time run through game? Seriously, do you think the whole content is worth the $60? Let's be reasonable here. The game does not have the replay value like it's predecessor, imo, no scratch that, it's a fact.

Acutally is has exactly the same, because its the exact same thing. Please tell me the difference between farming monsters for loot and farming monsters for loot. Oh wait, it's exactly the same thing except now you have to work for it instead of botting for it all day.
