Got my refund on the the digital purchase of D3. The customer service was actually very nice and it's a +1 to them. Haven't played D3 in a week now, didn't even want to log on really since then. Unfortunately they ruined Diablo franchise for ME RIP
Btw, I had 65 hours clocked in on my barb, inferno and it was no problem. Just be really nice to them, that's all. I made my purchase on May 12th, so you still can get a refund guys.
Those that are still enjoying the game, more power to you! And now back to DayZ
I'm glad they're nice enough to give refunds for the first thirty days. I'm really sorry that you didn't enjoy the product. (I'm honestly not enjoying inferno at all)
65 hours is more time than a lot of my games get. I don't understand why they refunded your money.
It was a hopeful grind, I was trying my best to be optimistic that it will get better and enjoy the game. Unfortunately that never happened. Besides, like I wrote, I lost items on the AH due to the idiotic bugs, too laggy etc. But that was just technical things, I'm sure you'll understand why I REALLY don't like it. Anyways, I thank Diablo 2/LOD for good teenage memories, it was a simpler time.
Nope, just can't see why, even if I try. I think people had unreasonable expectations when it came to D3, very, very very, very unreasonable. Yes the servers aren't up to scratch, and yes AH seems necessary, but the game is good, very good. In fact the foundation is a lot better than D2 without LoD ever was. They will sort out the servers, and they are already working on the items.
If you plan to move on, then it would only be your loss. In a year's time, when they announce the brilliant additions coming with the upcoming expansion, you will see the rest of us playing our hearts out and enjoying it.
yeh after 65 hours I find it amazing that they gave you a refund. I mean you basically played the entire game for free.
On the otherhand they are probably guessing you will buy the game yet again when they launch some cool additions like PvP, or a free new level. You really should have just kept it, never know what the future holds for D3. I assume they erased your character and items.

Blizzard used to care about releasing Diablo III, then they all took an arrow in the knee...
Depending on how much you love the franchise and genre in the first place, I think it may have been worth it to just hold on and check back with the game in a year or so.
I feel like there are going to be so many tweaks over the next year, lot's of improvements.
Unless you have a fundamental problem, like with the skill system (it hurts my soul if that's the case, best change ever, never want to see a "traditional" talent tree again) then yeah, refund city, but otherwise, I think things can only get better.
That's the case with most online games, and most Blizzard games specifically. They evolve so much over the first year. Heck, even D2 was a much different game a few years in. It didn't pop out of the Blizzard womb as a perfect gem.
Anyways, I thank Diablo 2/LOD for good teenage memories, it was a simpler time.
Seems nostalgia blinds yet another person to the fact that it took years for the things they "loved" to actually get put into the game. Does no one remember how buggy and shitty D2 online was for the first 6 months? It feels like forums are crawling with LOD babies disappointed because Diablo 3 doesn't meet their D2 v1.10 standards or something. Like I said in another thread: Week two of Diablo 3 still beats year two of Diablo 2 for me. "But at least it had single player from the start!!1" Unfortunately, that goes against why people enjoyed D2's online community structure in the first place, but that's an argument for a whole 'nother time. Cya in a few years when D3 lives up to your LOD expectations.

Personally, I am upset over there being no rune system. That was the real currency in D2 and I loved the itemization of those and all the other gear. Maybe someday they will add it, as well as some "ubers" and maybe charms. But for now, the game doesn't live up to D2 at all. It's just a whole other game really.

Why do you people keep using that argument. Just because that happened to Diablo 2 twelve years ago doesn't justify Diablo 3's bad release? It's so annoying to hear that. Diablo 2 was in development for 3-4 years and it actually defeated Diablo 1 in gameplay, story, mechanics, content, replayabilty, everything even if it kinda sucked. Diablo 3 team inherited some work from the Blizzard North team that was working on it 6-7 years ago. So the current Diablo 3 team had all those 6-7 years to develop it, they had experience. And I did play Diablo 2 from the start, even the demo and I loved it, I did not get bored for some reason.
Problem is that Diablo 3 is fundamentally flawed with things like linearity and game mechanics. I just don't see any real changes coming, apart from nerfs and some changes to itemization issue, which blizzard is still in denial of. So your argument, 'just because D2 sucked in the beginning, D3 has the same right to suck'. Your argument is invalid. All the new team did was simplify Diablo 3 into a more mainstream game. The game no longer feels like a Diablo game, yet it still has the title. It didn't improve from it's predecessor except for the graphics(Still WoW-ie) and to some extent gameplay(I give that a pass). But overall, it was dumbed down.

They did NOT use blizzard norths work, if you actually looked at blizzards norths d3 screenshots, they was terrible, they was expecting to turn d3 into an mmo as well.
Diablo 3 doesn't suck. Everyone was expecting perfection, and you know what, there's a lot of little things, but overall, not comparing it to d2 directly, quite possibly the best ARPG made. Nostalgia is a bitch to get over though. 12 years from now, this will be one of THE teenage defining games, and when d4 comes out (if it does), everyone would say d3 was better, even if d4 is honestly better.
Not entirelly sure why you think its needed to tell everyone that you got a refund?
Some may call this fanboi-ism, so say what you will. The fact that you gave the developers your money and played their game for 65 hours, only to decide you didn't like it and wanted a refund in the first place is flat out retarded. You basically pirated their game, you played it as much as you wanted to then threw it away and got all your money back - if thats not the closest thing to piracy I don't know what is.
Good.
When the going gets tough, the noobs & casuals get going.
Blizzard is paying for their own spoiled WoWscrubs.
It's people like this who never do anything great, because they give up.
Take this as an example everyone. Laugh at this person when the BIG BAD HORRIBLE BUGS are fixed, expansion(s) are out, & this game is thriving.
65 hours.. Jesus fucking Christ. 65 hours of gaming for $60 & you asked for a refund.
Fuck off. I don't care if I get banned for saying that.
That's unacceptable for any product. That's like eating a whole bag of chips & returning it because the crumbs on.the bottom weren't big enough.
God damn crybaby. Get the fuck off the forums & leave the people with common sense & patience alone while we enjoy the game.
