We saw the addition of angel wings for players who get the CE. What other type of purely aesthetic items would you like to see make it into the game? And would you be willing, or even want, a small fee transaction to get these items?

On a more serious note the current mechanics could be used for demon wings, andariel-like-spikes etc.
Other cosmetics such as a halo would be cool.
+ ponytail leaving a rainbow trail
I could see that. Andariel arms, demon wings maybe, I don't see a halo coming anytime soon they're not really in the lore. An item that left a small rainbow trail would be amusing.
I wouldn't mind small microtransactions for stuff like that. I mean if we're gonna be making e-balance on the RMAH it'd be fun to spend it on things like that.
I want aestetics as rewards for pvp players. E.g. winning 30 rounds of tdm in a row, you get a cool looking (insert your favorite visual in here). This won't happen though, cause of the girlish attitude the have towards pvp, frightening the oh-so casual playerbase ...
I actually think it is possible to have some extra aesthetic reward for pvp. Maybe not at release but if it became demanded by the pvp audience.
Either way, I will be adorning my wings. However, I like that they mean something, like I have tue CE as oppose to just "I bought these". I would hope any additional aesthetics would also have meaning behind them as oppose to just simple purchases.

No, please, no, anything but that... I beg you.. please don't give them that idea..
I used to be 100% in favor for that.. uh, nasty thing.. but then I started seeing what it causes in game companies, they realize how much money it gives and suddenly gameplay content is sold like that too, and suddenly², the game content costs upwards of 350 dollars (as examples, I think games like League of Legends, Bloodline Champions and DCOnline might cost even more to get all the content)..
I wouldn't mind if they added the whole thing to an expansion and charged 60 dollars for it, though.. it's just those 2 words, they scare the shit out of me..
Just my personal feelings about it, obviously - so take it with a grain of salt

I think offering unique banner icons/patterns would be cool to ship for buying CE of other games. SC2 has portraits, WoW has pets, D3 has banners.
I don't like the idea of having a bunch of toggle items for characters, i think it would get kind of lame...but Idk maybe I could see some potential. Also, maybe special dyes?
Don't hate on the wings. There's a huge difference between pink ponies and having Tyriel style wings which is totally in line with the Diablo mystique.
On the flip side, I don't think vanity pets would stand out in Diablo 3. But if they ever do sell anything, it might be weapon glow effects. perhaps each purchase allows you to put a special glow or dmg effect on a weapon. Not game breaking, high popularity, and ... middling money grubbing tactic, I think I can live with it.
Things like this used to be cool "for the fans" kind of enhancements, given away for nothing more than shits and giggles by developers - now.... ugh.
If you've ever played the flash game "Upgrade This" you'll know exactly what I'm talking about when I say that some developers would like to monitize EVERYTHING about the game - want a prettier working interface? 20 cents please. How about the ability to save? We can add that for just 2 dollars more.... better sound? A new texture pack? How about some additional gameplay? New voice overs? cha-ching, cha-ching, cha-ching....
Day zero DLC's and the bug ridden crap that often gets launched show how little some (not all) developers actually feel about getting it right and providing value with the launch - they've been dialing in exactly what we will pay for and how much for decades now - it has ALWAYS been pushed toward shorter single player games, multiple DLC's and fewer "free" post-launch goodies. About the only thing that haven't been able to successfully charge for is patches - but don;t think they wouldnt love that as well.

That's the thing though with Blizzard. They don't do that stuff. Yeeeees they have expansion packs and yeeees they have some microtransaction-ish things like pets and mounts for WoW but seriously, that is purely aesthetic. You do not gain anything gameplay-wise for buying them.
In addition they constantly give away free pets for anniversaries and other events.
I personally don't mind it and yea, we'll probably see them in some way and shape for Diablo 3.

Yeah I wasn't targeting Blizzard in general or really at all - however the pressures of the business community are relentless - better rates of returns have lead to some very short sighted, "get the quarterly numbers up NOW so I can get my bonus" thinking. A company that only has a net profit marging of 3% is branded a failure and closed/sold because, hey why take 3% when you could go for 10 or 12% - never mind the company made money, employed people and offered something of value to the world - 3% just isnt good enough.
When "rate of return" is the only measure by which anything is judged we end up with the things we are already stating to see from business.... its sad.

Ooooooh glow effects on weapons, now that I like! Honestly I really didn't want anything or to see anything until I read that. Good stuff
Cosmetic items are just that. As long as they don't give an unfair advantage if they are (a. Limited, such as with the CE, or b. paid for with microtransactions) I'm fine with them. I think it's pretty cool that people who enjoy Diablo so much as to purchase the CE (as I will :)) are able to be recognized as fans with the dye and wings.
dont know if anyoen has suggested this, but i think that certain high lvl achievments such as beating inferno should grant you a special elemental effect on your banner, so you drop your banner and flames come out and its on fire or like it causes fiery cracks to spit out in different directions, so you can be like BAM BITCH beat inferno, PROOF!

Pay any kind of real money for them ? No. I would like to get them by doing a special event or quest.
I'm sure it depends, there could be an item implemented that you just HAD to have. Something that you really favor, you may not be able to think of it now. But I'm sure this could be said about everyone. As long as the price wasn't ridiculous that is. Must be reasonable

It just seems too easy to add in more. I am not saying a lot but definitely some. Possibly special banner icons or something else like that.

I got mixed feelings concerning the CE wings...
