Oct 18, 2013King DNA posted a message on Announcing the DiabloFans "Site Update" Beta, Diablo 3 For PS3 and Xbox 360 GiveawayIt was a near vote for Rolling into stuff but I had to go for couch co-op. As someone who loves to play co-op with his friends, going online has nothing against sitting right next to each other. Besides, it also makes it easier because we all don't need the hardware and a copy of the game.Posted in: News

Oct 29, 2011King DNA posted a message on Beta Key Contest #4Binkles croaked in sadness. In frog speech, he was woefully crying "If only I had been given a Beta key, I could have told people my true story, without all these horrible, horrible lies the people at Diablofans are making up!"Posted in: News
And yet nobody listened...they were too busy waiting for their chance at the Diablo 3 Beta. -

Oct 28, 2011King DNA posted a message on Diablo 2 Patch 1.13dI've run it in admin mode, I've run it in XP mode (on updates 2 and 3), I've tried opening the Screen Resolution page but it doesn't work, and several other things that have been offered as fixes for some but don't work for others. The colors are messed up for Diablo 2, Warcraft, and Starcraft 1 and this isn't just a problem locked to my computer: just look it up on Google. The only thing that works, and only for D2, is the Flight video program.Posted in: News

Oct 27, 2011King DNA posted a message on Beta Key Contest #4It's Thursday and this is post 193. In the picture caption contests there were over or near 1000 entries by Thursday. I wonder if that's because people disagree with the last winner of if they don't want to write a short story?Posted in: News

Oct 24, 2011King DNA posted a message on Beta Key Contest #4Binkles the Frog. That was his new name, and he had better get used to it. Diablo had chosen to return in the most obvious way possible, in a comet, in order to instill terror in peoples all around. Mephisto, however, had wanted to come back in a more covert way. Mephisto, the Lord of Hatred, had returned as the most hated thing of all--a simple mosquito. His plan had been to invade and take over the body of a human--perhaps a certain Necromancer that had gotten lucky years before--but alas, it was not meant to be.Posted in: News
Upon his first night of return in Sanctuary, in the swampy woods of Kurast, he had encountered his first problem. The angel-demon offspring had found a deep magic to disguise themselves...they called this magic "repellent" and kept it contained in impenetrable bottles of all shapes in sizes. For a week, Mophistosquito hovered around the village of the Kurast Docks, waiting for the invisibility spray to wear off, hoping he would by chance run into the fiendish creatures. By the time the seven days were over, he felt age getting to him, as if he had lived half a lifetime. Mophistosquito knew then that time was running short.
He worked faster, spreading out further as his hope failed. And then he saw it: a human male, emerging from an outhouse--the evil magic had been overriden by some other smell, highlighting him! Mophistosquito charged, needle-nose extended as much as possible. But his greatest challenge awaited him. A creature many times his size and weight, rippling with an odd skin, pounced in front of his path. A frog, green to blend in with the swamp, had wandered into town. Mophistosquito pulled back, trying to stop or avert his course, but it was too late. The tongue lashed out and wrapped around his outstretched nose, pulling him in to the beast's mouth. He tried to struggle, only to puncture the frog's throat with his needle. Instead of blood pouring in, Mophistosquito was sucked out. The frog's green coloring became tainted, becoming more yellow.
Mephrog was born, but it was not over yet. The human had reached him and was bending over. Mephrog's body quivered with rage and fear--he was in no state to fight!
"Yes, you'll do quite nicely," the man said. "Come, I take care of you. You Binkles. Binkles the Frog. I Witch Doctor and we have much fight to do. Oh, yes, many demons come and Doctor and Frog must unite in battle."
And so Binkles the Frog was born...or reborn. Whatever. -
Oct 16, 2011King DNA posted a message on Beta Key Contest #3Gosakusan, it's funny that you call posts that don't agree with you "sad excuses for replies and justifications." All you do is spout the same idea that "effort" = "good", talk about how good your stuff is, and insult people that don't uphold your work as almighty. Instead of complaining and hoping that the voters will either give you a key because of your bitching or vote for you because your profound ideas on opinions being wrong are so revolutionary, maybe you should cater to them and what they like. If you aren't willing to even consider other's ideas, beliefs and ideals then you're stupid. Having an open mind opens new doors and you aren't getting anywhere being the stubborn fool that you are.Posted in: News

I'm a solo player who doesn't really pay attention to the pro strategies, so I was more than a little shocked when I checked out my friend's D3 profile when we were both online. He has three Season 4 characters--a lvl 70 WD that had been played for 2.5 hours, a lvl 70 Wizard that had only 20 minutes clocked, and a DH with 91 hours. His Season Paragon lvl was 596 (compared to his regular Paragon of about 400).
I can understand the Wizard getting power rushed, and the WD, especially after adding in the Paragon...but holy crap, how does ANYONE get nearly 600 Paragon in less than 100 hours? What's the secret? My clearly uncivilized mind keeps concluding on bots, especially seeing that he is constantly logging off every twenty minutes only to come back on five minutes later. Tell me he's cheating, that I can't be this much out of the loop.

Sure, here you go. I just quit, so it may not be updated.
And yes, he's seasonal. I managed to make it to GR14, and won thanks to a Conduit shrine (just took the gems, no reason to try a GR15).

Hey all. I've never been a pro player. I see people nonchalantly referencing characters builds and items and talking about how they dominated T6 three days into the new season and...well, that's not me. I don't even play with others, strictly solo. In any RPG or MMO, I always go with what sounds fun, not with what works. Now it's Season 3, and I want those cosmetic rewards (for 400 Achievement Points), but there's no way in Hell I can get those points playing as I have been.
Don't know why, but I started with a HC Monk. Probably thought the full achievement list would be available as in previous Seasons and wanted to knock out the HC and SC ones in one go. My GR limit is Rank 11, the Champions/Rares of Torment 1 tend to make me go all-out to beat. I've put in some 10 hours in the last few days, but have hardly progressed at all--GR11 was my starting point, and several equipment changes later I'm still stuck there. I even looked at preferred Monk skills and changed much of my skills, to not much difference.
I guess my problem is...what do I do? Do I need to just accept I need allies? Should I stop worrying about Rifts and do runs of a preferred location in search of loot (though I don't think location changes potential drops, just the monsters)? Are there...ugh...specific Monk items I should be exclusively searching for and using?
Thanks in advance.

Well, almost. I had to skip out on a few things to keep from going completely broke...a disc drive (planned to reuse one, turns out there's no IDE ports on my motherboard. Have to get a SATA disc drive.), a new hard drive, and an OS. Can't reuse my old one apparently without formatting it.
I remember people being banned for using Linux/Wine. How are those bans going? Where they lifted and did it stop happening, or did they turn out not to be real bans and that people were cheating? Thanks for any answers.

Oops, meant to put this in the Technical Support forum...sorry!

Well, the majority of the CE's items are probably complete (the making of DVD/Blu-Ray was probably completed only a short while ago, if not closing now) and since the game is always online, they could afford to risk having a small update on first-run*, so the discs could have been in production for a few weeks already.
*There aren't any serious updates coming before release, since the delaying of PVP. Creating the game discs now and having a small update when you're done installing the game won't take up too much time, if any for a lot of people, as I believe they said they were going to have pre-downloaders available.
I'd say at best, depending on the amount of updates there are going to be when we start, the release could be between early April and mid-May. If the game has a ton of updates at first-run (the discs were printed months ago) the game could come out early April, if not before.

The gameplay style is much the same as the rest of the Diablo series, except for online play the two factions can't play together. The game should also incorporate things from lightly touched Diablo lore, such as a fight with Bartuc the Bloody's spirit/armor and a battle with Trag'Oul (or whatever the great Dragon's name is) as he extends part of himself into the physical world to stop the balance from being thrown off completely.

Or you could use Glide and see if that works. It's usually used for the color problems, but it may help.
