Don't force people to be efficient if they don't want to be.
The point of the game is efficiency... Killing monsters as quickly as possible to maximize your time to find the drops you want. That is the game. I think you should do whatever you think is fun, absolutely, but if you want to go at a slower pace, not really worry much about maximizing efficiency, and just kind of take it at your own speed you're going to have a pretty rough time in Nightmare let alone Inferno. Hopefully as the game progresses and difficulty ramps up you're naturally being encouraged to tighten up your build and scrutinize your gear more and more.
So here all the promises about the fun of customization and playing the way you want go out of the window. Say goodbye to fun, say hello to gear grinding.

Jay Wilson states otherwise, viable builds will be able to run into Inferno and clear it. Wither it clears it faster than an optimal build or not doesn't matter, it still means you can clear Inferno with viable builds. If you want to clear it as fast as possible then fine, that's the way you want to play. For me I want to get through Inferno with my thorns Barb and that's fine for me I could care less if I take twice as long as anyone else, it's my way of playing. No one is forcing you to play with a genaric cookie cutter build; unlike Diablo 2 which had very little builds that can go through hell, ubertristram, etc.

"The righteous shall fall before the wicked, and all of Creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell."
well i didnt expect that kind of enrage timers...
sad news then. i was expecting diablo 3 to give more freedom in gameplay. by presenting those enrage timers they are totally lowering the fun and diversity in fights. so again we are back to old diablo 2 mechanics where the one build even doing 10% dmg more then other will be superior.
also the boss fights will be looking the same all the time because if you will make a mistake you will die, no chances to make up for that ...
really disappointed...
The goal of that is so that people don't abuse with low level characters and stuff, if you are at a correct level and don't have garbage gears in lower difficulties, the enrage shouldn't happen at all even if your build doesn't have that much dps.
Item tiers are f**** up and Bashiok does not want to acknowledge that. I even asked Jay Wilson on twitter some time ago and he confirmed that higher tier item can have higher possible affixes and have better pool of affixes, so in the end game it will be higher tier = better item most of the time.
And of course you can find crappy high tier item but you will never find very good (in comparison with higher tier) lower tier item.
Lol random.
Okay, seriously. Understand these concepts.
A) Any affix or prefix can drop from anything in the game, period.
B]Affixes are much more likely to drop from monsters that have a level that's matching or higher than the affix's required level.
C) An item's level is largely determined by difficulty level, and by proxy the level of the monster (or urn?) that dropped it.
D) Higher level items have different art than lower level items, so that you look more and more complex and awesome.
Conclusions that can be drawn:
AB) Higher level monsters are more likely to drop higher level affix/prefix
CD) Higher level monsters are more likely to drop higher level art
Conclusions: higher level art is more likely to also contain high level affix/prefix
Equivalent conclusion: higher level affix/prefix is more likely to come with higher level art
Further conclusion: Lower level gear has a reduced chance compared to higher level gear to have superior prefix/affix and superior art
Further conclusion: Higher level gear has a reduced chance compared to lower level gear to have lower prefix/affix and higher chance to have superior art
Final conclusion: A lower level item may have superior affix/prefix, yet have inferior art, making it a better item in every way except look
This isn't WoW, it's not that kind of "tier" gear. It's just a reference to the fact that starting at (let's make an arbitrary example) level 20, a sword will have SPIKES on it (regardless of prefix/affix) and at level 40 a sword will be MADE OF STARS (regardless of prefix/affix) while at level 60 your sword will ACTUALLY BE DIABLO (even if it has no prefix/affix and is basically a worthless weapon)
Hope that clears it up for ya, but I doubt it will.
The Enrage timers are there to stop the level 1 Vs the SK type of crap.
level 60s VS inferno champions with gear gained from hell will never hit enrage timers.
level 60s VS inferno champions with normal gear because their friends powerleveled them will either die in 1 hit, or hit an enrage timer because 80% of their spell slots are taken up with evasion abilities.
If you want to kite shit around for 30 min go run hell naked with your shit builds.

lol what? I'm glad to know that you already know everything there is to know about how they implemented enrage timers in D3.
"Chrome has been on the rise for quite some time, inching up from 18.85 to 18.87 percent of the browser market."
"Although the most widely-used version of Internet Explorer continues to be IE8, usage of IE9 continues to grow. Microsoft's latest browser weighs in at 15.91 versus IE8's 26.22 percent of market share."
"Firefox's decline from 20.55 to 20.20 percent..."
Looks to me like the latest version of IE, by itself, has nearly as many users as Chrome, with the previous version having more than Chrome by a significant amount. Firefox, while on the decline, still has more users than Chrome.
I like Chrome as well, but let's not just throw out bullcrap made up generalizations based on what we do, eh? Next thing you know, people will be saying stuff like "Nobody eats potatoes anymore, peanut butter and jelly is used in most homes." just because they eat pb&j a lot.
Any1 else find that near the end of jay wilson explaining inferno u could see this face of pure pride which basically said "my lord, I can't wait to watch all the deaths ppl get in inferno" it's as if hes excited to see all the cryin on the forums ^_^. I love when u see developers look so enthusiastic about their product... Why can't it just be the 15th? XD

And then watch as a month later or so when Inferno Mode is conquered and the 'hardcore' laugh and mock the attempt. I kid a bit, but in all seriousness, I wouldn't mind seeing that either.
...Ok, truly serious now...it is nice to see some news on Inferno for sure and to learn about the "Tier" stuff, but I am getting mixed signals here. On one hand we have Bashiok saying:
Thanks, I was skipping around trying to find it.
So yeah, I guess the visual looks are separated out by Act in Inferno. As I said though it doesn't guarantee or preclude an item of a specific 'tier' to be better of worse than another of near proximity.
But then in the video Jay says something to the effect of:
Each act drops a unique tier of loot and...you'll see as much loot in one act as you will in any other act in the game...and you will get all new items as you move from act to act in Inferno difficulty.
...Although, looking at it again, it might not mean that the new items will necessarily be better than the previous tier, but still...seems a little confusing on the word choice to me. Wish these people would use similar terminology or communicate a little better at times!
Also noticed that enrage timers were talked about. While it seems there are a variety of them, and some of them like the one described using the SK as a hypothetical scenario are the ones I like (they're more of a 'soft enrage' that makes sense), I will say I won't like the 'hard enrage timer' if there is one.
Item tiers are f**** up and Bashiok does not want to acknowledge that. I even asked Jay Wilson on twitter some time ago and he confirmed that higher tier item can have higher possible affixes and have better pool of affixes, so in the end game it will be higher tier = better item most of the time.

You wrote so much even though you do not know how stuff works.
Jay Wilson replied for me: @Kblavkalash higher tier have access to higher quality affixes, but can still roll lower quality.
That mean that best possible items going to be highest tier. Lower tier item just can't possible be best. That was not the case in D2, but it is in D3.
And if higher tier item will roll bad stats, of course lower tier item can be better but overall higher the tier = higher the possible affixes.,
Sorry, but you wrote so much for nothing.
I'm sorry that you didn't understand that what I wrote was a much more clear and accurate way of explaining what you're trying to explain. It was intended to explain to you that it's all RANDOM.
You're basically complaining that higher level gear will be better than lower level gear.
So, I'm sorry for even trying to help you, because you're complaining about the basic freaking structure of the game.
I didn't waste my time because I don't understand. I wasted my time because you want to get the best gear in the game from act 1 normal. You don't want to have to advance further and fight higher level monsters in order to get higher level gear. The whole idea offends you somehow.
Basically, you're going to hate D3 and were always going to hate D3. Get over it, and please stop trying to discuss it.

There's no such thing as a "standard" browser, either in business or outside of it. Nor is there one browser that is better than everything else out there. I'm not sure where you are pulling this "non-business standard" crap from, but it certainly isn't any place with factual information. It sounds more like a Chrome fansite.
