Adding some flavor to elemental damage would add some depth to the game, allowing us more freedom in the way we play.
Unfortunately the way this game has been thought prevent the use of a Diablo II-like approach (elemental res/immunities) because, as stated above, players would switch to a more efficient build whenever they met a more resistant pack.
"Adaptive" resistances could be a solution (a bit like resistance to stun, a second shot deal a bit less damage than the first, up to a cap, each kind of monster could have a different curve and cap for each different element) but it may be tricky to balance and difficult to implement.
Yet I'd like for elemental damage to get some love.

This game is very sensitive to bandwidth so it may happen that if there is not much UPLOAD bandwidth available the servers cut you off.
Also you may visit the official forums and search for connection issue, there is a good guide about how you must set your network card settings.
Hope it helps.
Jan 6, 2014pikke posted a message on D3prefs vs D3prefsPTR: someone can explain the differences?Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I've spotted some differences and would like to know what they mean.
D3PrefsPTR has the PlayedCutscene4 voice which I guess refers to ACT V (I'm in PTR, not ROS beta)
D3PrefsPTR has the ShadowDetail, I cannot find any related option in the Video Options, any idea?
D3PrefsPTR lacks all of the following:
D3PrefsPTR has the flSafeZoneLeft and I'd like to know this too.
Anybody more knowledgeable can explain, please?
Thanks in advance.
Dec 25, 2013ok, read them all and found many interesting things.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I loved the PvPvE section, some of the ideas there made me want to be part of a team (and you know I'm not a social player...)
"Followers need love too" has a good point as well as the "minions" (gotta love mana cauldron with legs)
Receiving a banner reward for being a "faithful" player seems good too, not something game changing but some bragging rights is a good choice.
And yes, we hoarders would like for stuff to stack more.
Also having a "book" where you can see all the legendaries you found along the way would be really appreciated.
Dec 24, 2013Found one just outside the fortress in ACT3 (The Battlefields if memory serves) I climbed some stairs to a small bastion, the one sometimes spawn and you find soldiers on it and then monsters climb it and attack. it was a "kill 150 monsters" one but seemed to be bugged since it gave a me "0 killed" at the end of the slaying. So you need to be lucky enough to spawn the right map.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Dec 16, 2013It would be fun to have a "minuscule" affix which could miniaturize our heroes or pets. At the same time reduce both damage and defense but increase movement speed and dodge chance. Look, I'm a mini barbarian! 😄Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Nov 24, 2013My stash is almost always full to the brim.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Also having to manage 10 (guess 12 after RoS) different characters gear is a bit difficult.
Hope they implement something which will let me check how an item I just found with my WD will work on my Wizard WITHOUT having to close the game, switch char, start a new game, check.

@TOPCommander: I share most of your ideas but I feel that's not the way they'll go about it, unfortunately a lot of players like to have everything as soon as possible in the game (be it gear or skills or runes) and complain if the game is "too difficult" and items are "too hard to find".
I fear Blizzard will develop a game for crybab...err..spoil...ehm...the above mentioned kind of players since selling the game as much as possible is (rightly) their goal.
Yet, I do hope they make a miracle and create a good game (to dream does not cost anything, right?)
As for new classes the Alchemist is something I'd like to see and the clerk could be a good one
Then Barbarian-like, sorcerer-like, rogue-like and necromancer-like characters should be there.
I just hope the game structure is well developed, then any class is good to play.

Good to know it's coming soon without the "TM"
If the only way to have more characters slots is to buy the deluxe edition I guess I'll have to scratch 2 of the existing ones.
And to be REALLY disappointed...

While exploring ways to discourage exploitative behavior is something we're continuing to do (so thank you for your reports), players appear to be enjoying their battles through Sanctuary and finding great loot along the way. Based on feedback we've received, we believe this experience has more value than simply copying another person's set of gear.
Currently cannot play due to connection issue (again)
Let me do a tiny sarcastic rant: spot the difference.

I play self found single player since release and like it that way (give me offline and I'd explode of joy)
Yet I can see that a safe trading envyronment would add to the experience for those players who likes it and I wouldn't have any problem with an AH which does not affect the game so much (like items drop ratio, just to make an example).
Unfortunately AH in D3 was also a great limiting factor when it came down to development and new features: every time Blizz thought to implement something they had to ask themselves "will this work well with the current AH system?".....most often the answer was no.
So BoA made its comeback.
Now they have more freedom in what they plan and this is a good thing in itself.
For all the guys who likes to trade I hope Blizz come up with a reliable trading system, just one that's not mandatory to play the game at its fullest.
To Maka and the other fellows who, alongside my humble self, since before release were sayng "this AH system will ruin the game!":

I play SP and noAH, have 10 active characters and cannot grasp enough tomes to upgrade gems or craft items consistently.
Thus I've almost half a chest tab full of reagents and gems.
Lylirra gave me hope.
