Long term PC gaming is dead. It's just a matter of when, not if. Too much pirating going on. Didn't witcher sell like 1 million copies, with another 5 million being pirated? Not exactly a predictor of long term viability.
Wii was dead a long time ago. It's the platform that people buy, the never use. If memory serves, it has the lowest game purchases/user of all the available systems.
PC is much, much better for online experiences. Single player PC games have always been a minority of the PC genre (even as far back as D1, online existed).
But yeah, Wii is good for people who don't play games. I learned that very quickly and sold that piece of garbage off.

I kind of disagree, as services are improving. I've bought 10-15 games on Steam or over Battle.net in the last few years, and 0 in stores. The only reason I'd pirate is because I couldn't get a game legitimately. I don't *think* I'm a minority... and the prices on Steam for games even 1 year old is pretty damn good.
As for the Witcher, never really had any interest in that game or series. Maybe it was the game, not the pirates?
Seriously, giving pirating as an excuse for "PC gaming dying" is the stupidest argument ever. Period. You can easily pirate console games, and even find advertisements on craigslist for people that will hack your system for a nominal fee. Believing that media horseshit about pirating killing PC games is totally unbased, and ignorant.
Secondly, digital sales through mediums like Steam, Origin, and Impulse have skyrocketed sales for PC game companies across the border. Terraria, a small-time independent game, sold SOOOOOO many copies in such a very short time, and has been on the Steam top 10 sales list for literally months.
So quit quoting stupid jargon, it's really tired, old, and asinine in the first place.
D3 is currently in the works for xbox and ps3 or at least consoles in general, so this list ins't exactly a true representation, same for torchlight I'm pretty sure they'll releaSE It on the XBLA later or maybe even have it there for a simultaneous release. Still though It's good to see PC gamers come together and say fuck you to consoles.

I agree that pc is better for online experiences.
The wii is not garbage, it is fun. Especially with a couple friends and a couple drinks. It just isn't an elitists' gaming machine.
I play PC as well as wii. (I play D2, SC, SC2, and have played hundreds of PC games since I was a little kid)
The wii is for anybody who wants to have a little fun, that is all. There is no need to rip on it.
more and more games are being made online-only removing millions of possible piracy. not for just piracy but also for features that you buy in-game are making companies more money then the buying of the game. thats all companies will do, they will get sick of everyone pirated their games and just make them all online-only to avoid 90% of the pirates and make 100x more money from in-game goods to buy.
the D3 RMAH will make billions and once other companies witness they will ALL jump on the band wagon. this is the future of PC gaming.

Yeah, right. They will try and they will fail. The only reason Blizzard can do it so well is that they have a massive amount of blind fanboys supporting it. Making games completely onlines kills what makes PC gaming unique. Anyone that doesn't see that should not even have the right to speak of PC gaming.

Hehe, the RMAH won't make billions. It'll certainly make the company millions, but they won't be seeing 10 figures for years, if ever. Considering how little money they actually get for each transaction, in addition to the % they have to pay Paypal, it isn't going to be as huge as you think. Millions is still a ton of money, but it'll take awhile to get there. Certainly a nice supplement, but the game itself as well as the expansions are where the real money is. Who are we kidding. WoW is where the real money is.
Frankly, the RMAH-type thing is nothing new. Companies have been using this method in games for quite some time now.

For some companies, the method is sound. Particularly for iOS devs. Freemium-type games have made Zynga into a household name. Gaming companies certainly don't make a ton of money on DLC, so it's definitely not a universally profitable method. There's some profit there, otherwise you wouldn't see it at all.

No, what makes PC gaming unique is a keyboard, mouse, and playing without friends around (unless you attend LAN parties, which aren't all that common). Whether the game is online or not has nothing to do with it.

if they make 2 dollars per transaction and nothing else (posting fee, sale fee). and if say 10m people play diablo (maybe a bit high) and out of those doing transactions on the RMAH there is 1m transactions a day, not saying 1m people will use it but just one person can do dozens of transactions per day worldwide. so lets say 1m transactions total a day . thats over $700m a year. so in less then 2 years they could make a billion. tons of people i know who dont like using real money will still use the free listings each weak. the amount of people going to be using the RMAH will be redonkulous and i believe it will easily make over a billion in the first few years.
hell you never know. i could even be underestimating. we wont know until we see blizzards numbers after a year of it being live. still a possibility.

Consoles suck, played on it, still sucked. Can't stand playing FPS on them. PC graphics is better. The only plus about consoles are some of the games that's released on them, which get ratings of 95%. That's all.

I agree. I bought 6 games on steam this Christmas for a total of $14. Why would I even bother pirating. Steam makes it so easy to access games cheaply!
