Apr 20, 2012Veggie50 posted a message on Open Beta Weekend!I'm torn, I'm not sure if I'll play it or not. It's tempting, but part of me really wants to experience the game for the first time at full release.Posted in: News

Mar 21, 2012Veggie50 posted a message on Nephalem Valor BuffThis sounds awesome ^^ I'm wondering though... does this mean that if 1 person changes skills, everyones buff disappears, or just that one person's? And with the shared magic find, should only the one person's magic find buff disappear, do the other buffs get lowered to average it out again?Posted in: News

Feb 16, 2012Veggie50 posted a message on Diablofans Diablo 3 Beta Key Contests! 450 Keys to win!450 is a lot, but only 200 for the post contest. =) And only about 20 or so a day probably. Looking at the number of new posters it may seem you're guaranteed a key, but I think the odds aren't that high. I would like to wish everyone good luck though. =) I'd like to opt out of this competition, if possible. =)Posted in: News

"Many More" Beta Invites, Book of Cain, Wizard's Hydra, ScreenshotsWell from what I've read, there will be a gold AH in SK, and they're going to present the RMAH seperately, with the hopes to patch it in later.Posted in: News

History suggests you're the odd one out here thoughYes, thank you.
Some people are really purposefully obtuse when it comes to the RMAH. This is definitely for the betterment of the game, foregoing a clear foothold for all of the illegitimate misfits who ruin the game, and it will lessen hacks and bots. I don't know why people are so hellbent on battling something that is for the betterment of the game. Moreover it's a completely optional tool for a non-competitive game. I don't know what more can be said about it.
A list of things people have protested against when they were introduced:
- Electricity
- Internet
- Telephones
- Mobile Telephones
- Automobiles
- Television
Though obviously, in hindsight, they were right, and these were all very bad inventions that did not benefit mankind at all! ^^ -

Really...blizzard has ruined their reputation
I was under the impression Blizzard's reputation was based on them taking their time to make awesome games, despite financial or fan pressure.
But perhaps you guys have a much better understanding about Blizzard's reputation then I do, so I'll be curious to your responses -
Jan 12, 2012Veggie50 posted a message on Development Article Soon, What's NOT Delaying the Game, Zarhym on "The Big Meeting"Yea right? It's almost, like, they like, think we're customers or something... Like we aren't part of the development team, and like, shouldn't be briefed on like, everything...Posted in: News

It's called resolvement of cognitive dissonance."I hate this thing and I am angry at everyone involved, but I am going to purchase it anyway." The Blizzard community is a psychiatrist's wet dream. There has to some medical terminology for individuals who do this to themselves.
Also, what exactly is Blizzard losing again, by having a substantial group of overhyped fans? I've heard the argument "people are dropping out" a lot, but I doubt that holds any water in reality. Clearly everyone saying people are dropping out, didn't drop out themselves. And of any people who did drop out of diablo-page-refresh-spamming, is that any indication of them not buying the game anymore? -
Oct 10, 2011Veggie50 posted a message on Diablo III in SpaceWhat bugs me about the physics at this point isn't it being over the top, it's that the corpses speed doesn't match the distance they fly. They casually fly up, and they casually flutter down. A blow that sends you flying that high should have propelled you at great velocity.Posted in: News
On the other hand, Blizzard has stated they're a) not aiming for realism, and b)not done with the iteration on physics. So I'm curious what the end product will be like =) -
Mar 6, 2011Veggie50 posted a message on Blizzard's "Anti-Modding" Stance: Another LookHmmm, who's to say Diablo 3 won't offer the same kind of thing that SC 2 does? They don't offer the tools to do so, but I could imagine having a Diablo 3 battlenet section where you can play mod games. o.oPosted in: News

You can listen to it in the link below, but mind you it would be considered a spoiler for the movie, as besides the music the link also reveals which character the theme features.
So, anyone here who agrees with me that scores like these would have been awesome in Diablo 3? ^^ (not saying the current music is bad, just not as captivating).

They initially had the most legendary items be Bind on Equip. This for all the concerns expressed by you. After some time though, they decided to remove this, because the amount of items this really takes out of the economy is extremely limited. Thus, it's not very functional as an item sink, but very functional as a source of frustration.
They now rely on artisans to take items out. If this proofs to not be enough, in time, they'll probably introduce a different feature to sink items.
I think this is a case where we should let Blizzard work their magic, and allow ourselves to be amazed at a solution we had not foreseen. =)

This thread surprised me. The answers are remarkably deep and serious. I dare bet that to all those discussing their deepest emotions here it must feel quite cathartic.
For me, as many, I haven't always enjoyed life. I've always been quite on my own, holding only two close friends. This may not seem like much, but they're both very deep friendships, that I'll carry with me for the rest of my life.
I have some trouble enjoying the Diablo 3 launch this year... because May 16th 2011, one of those friends was shot and killed by her jealous and psychotic ex boyfriend.
Wouldn't say I ever seriously considered killing myself. But the world did become a much darker place.
