Tal Rasha was a powerful ancient Horadric mage in the Diablo mythology. Tal Rasha accepted the fate of having to place Baal's soulstone in his body, having to wrestle with the demon for all eternity. The operation was devised by the archangel Tyrael. Tal Rasha was originally part of the Horadrim who pursued Baal, and when Baal shattered his soulstone, Tal Rasha offered to contain the demon within his body. Tal Rasha was bound to a pillar in one of seven ancient tombs in the desert, and the shard of the soulstone was jammed into his breast, releasing the Lord of Destruction's spirit into his body. The tomb was then sealed and concealed. Out of seven tombs, no one could tell which is the real one. His tomb can only be opened with a Horadric Staff, all separated into two pieces after a thieving incident with a rogue mage. Simply putting the two pieces (the staff and the headpiece) would do nothing. One can only repair the only available staff with a Horadric Cube.
When Baal was freed from his imprisonment by Marius, he continued to use Tal Rasha's body to house his spirit; it is Tal Rasha's body that is destroyed at the end of Act V, just as Sankekur/Mephisto and the Dark Wanderer/Diablo.
There's also a set in the game named in honor of Tal Rasha.
I think Butcher and Duriel are pretty similar, both very hard to kill and pretty scary.
The only reason Duriel was so dam hard was because every time you entered his chamber to fight him the game had to load all the resources for it so your pc had to wait for the CD drive to start and HDD to store all that information. I noticed that once i upgraded my pc he became rather easy.
Get real, folks, the diablo you all knew is dead, a few years ago i said right here in this forum that D3 had a pretty good chance of being blizzard first bust (i was flamed to death ofc), and what you know, its not even beta and its already looking that way.
While not entirely a boss, I would love to see some fight in the form of the ancients except against the lineup of 7 heroes from d2:lod. Would be a very interesting fight, i'll always remember the ancient fight.
It's pretty obvious diablo is gunna be resurrected at one point during d3.

Probably Diablo will be there. Heck, it's called Diablo 3.
I'd love to see the return of The Butcher. Also, we might see some lower bosses again, Lilith or something, maybe.
As for the prime and lesser evils, I'd like to see Andarial and Baal again. (Diablo's a given)
As for other bosses... wow, I really can't think of anybody I want to see again... in D2 that is. From D1, Butcher, and funny monsters like Gharbad the Weak or the snot one... and maybe Na'Krul, from Sierra's silly expansion. Speaking of which, a HORK SPAWN level would kick as much ass as a cow or penguin level!
This is a place, not a boss, but I'd love to see the Arcane Sanctuary again
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Ranger - Ranged Weapon Mastery (fire a bow or javelins like a machine gun!), Traps (MK style!), Pets (lions, tigers, and bears oh my!) - physical damage based
Demonologist - Bone Spells (Necro style!), Avatar (shapeshift into a demon!), Furies (evil spirits that hang around you, giving party bonuses) - mix of physical damage and magic
LEAP ATTACK!!!!! PLAGUE OF TOADS!!!!!
SLOW TIME!!!!!
These are the most "famous" bosses on act 1 (due to all the referals/hailing by similar creatures) in Diablo II, and thus instant recognizeable by the player. I would say just by the fact that they are among the very first bosses, they should be kept in. For me, the fallen/carver/devilkin/dark one/warped one are legendary monsters.

Me too I loved that fight
