Hey Guys. First i wanna say that i'm very new to this Forum.
So as you can see in the title, my question is, how long it takes to lvl a DEMON HUNTER from lvl 1-60. I wanna do a new Char cause i'm reaaally tired of my lvl 59 Barbarian. Though i got a nice equip i die very often and lvling takes forever.
So how long would it take for a demon hunter?
Thanks and sorry for my horrible English (i'm from Switzerland^^)
Not sure why you die so often. I just finished leveling a barb to 60 and I steamrolled everything through Hell...
I would count on it taking about the same time between the DH and barb. DH is actually slow at the start, but it picks up. However, I would examine first why you are dying so often as a barb, it's not a problem with the class.
I usually explore everything when I play, break most pots, ect...so it takes me longer than it could but my monk only took like 20 hours of gameplay, without any leveling exploits ect.
From lvl 55 onwards, I just ran hell ponies til I got to 60, and had about 8 pretty decent pieces waiting for me when I finally hit the level cap.
i really haven't got any idea why i die that often. But the mobs just own me nearly instantly. i can handle 1 or 2 at the same time on hell. But then i die. My equip really isn't bad. But i cant afford a better equip. I havent got millions of gold. And sadly none of my friends is a gamer, so i have to play alone.
I hear about 5-15 Hours. How the hell did you guys do that?^^I needed about 30 hours ._. i really need help. I also havent dropped any legendary/setitem/recipe. And yellow stuff is reaaaaaally rare to me -.- it's kinda frustrating

I leveled my Monk and cleared inferno legit and solo in about 30 hours on about 5mil gold(mainly the weapon, but I also had 200 mf unbuffed, so my stats were't great). It was probably faster as I afk a lot due to kids but that's what the profile sheet said.
Basically, I bought primary/vit/exp gear every few levels once I got to level 25. I had a couple - level 13 req weapons waiting for me for when I hit 47 too.
I also cleared keeps2/crater 2 a couple times in each difficulty to level faster. These are the 2 best zones in the game to "power level" .
It's somewhat important to note that if you're trying to level quickly, don't skimp on gear. You can resell almost everything you buy for the same or more than you paid for it. Long as you're not shelling out 100k + for anything , you don't run much risk of losing gold. (though I would do that for run speed boots, with high primary/secondary/ + xp)
I highly recommend at the very least purchasing a level 60 weapon with the level req reduced by x stat..makes life so much easier. You can get a modest one for 100k or so...and it's well worth dropping the gold on it. I just got my DH to 60 after roughly 30 hours of played time...1-40 via ZK normal and repeated a3 battlements runs...then 40-60 the "right" way.
Edit: Also, buy a socketed helm and get the best ruby you can in it..It won't lose its value, and saves a good amount of time...then resell after you hit 60.
After my first 60, I've found that buying +xp gear or low level legendaries with +xp will instantly resell for the same or more...use it, then pass the love on..without losing gold.
8hrs and 8min I believe is my shortest time [on a barb], going from new character to act3 and farming the staircase to 30, kill diablo, nm A3 staircase to 50, kill diablo, hell A3 staircase to 60. I had help getting Diablo and the next A3Q1.
Barb has a bit of an advantage, leaps up to where the mobs are on top of the stairs, can vortex/stun them and lay down an AoE and laugh all the way back to the doorway to exit game and repeat.
I don't pay close attention to the hours, but a few sessions a week at around 1-2 hours a pop got my two 60's done pretty fast. Working on the DH right now, and i'm in the mid-30's after 2 evenings.
In any event, it's not a bad grind at all, compared to most. Even without exploits, act3 farming, etc.
I'm 10 lvls away on my monk from having 1 of each class at 60 and it has taken roughly 20 hours for each of them (not counting the 1st at release) just playing straight through with a flawless square ruby in socketed weapons up to 40's and then lvl reduction weapons to 60.
If you're dying frequently as a barb at 59 then either your gear or build is nowhere near as good as you think it is. You should have at least 200 resists and a 600+ dps weapon
I take my time when I level up a character. I just chill out, relax, and enjoy the journey. I avoid the AH like the plague unless I am using a really shitty build (which sometimes I do) and I refuse to purchase reduced level requirement equipment. I guess I enjoy playing through the game more than I enjoy farming for hours at a time.

It's a bit tedious, like hundreds of runs, but the duration of the rest of what this thread is saying.. I'd put up with it while watching something else while doing it... before battle.net re-introduces that [terrible, depressing, I paid for this?] game creation limiter.

I know right... the game creation limit is a bunch of bullshit.

What do you mean by A3 staircase?
Ohh yeah, I leveled my barb like that for a bit. Is it actually worthwhile? Didn't seem to be that amazingly fast when I did it.
