I to wonder what it would have been like, with only Blizzard north working on it.
But that is still some good info right there.

Jul 4, 2008Elfen_Lied posted a message on Blizzard Comments On The Classes In Diablo 3Posted in: Newswe can focus on making each class really impressive, both visually and through the way they each feel and play.
Exactly. Anyone played Baldur's Gate II. including subclasses there are almost 30 classes. ANd the sub classes don't different that much at all.
I don't mind 5 classes. We still don't know if they are going to make an expansion (and they might) which ands new classes. Considering Blizzard is pushing for 4 man teams in games, 5 classes is pretty good. sure it means you can't have one of each class in a game, hey, that's not good. I might want to have one of each class in a game!! But back to where I was earlier, 5 for the initial release is pretty good. Too many classes and the tend to overlap abit and it's a little boring, not enough and you get bored just as quick. -
Jul 2, 2008Elfen_Lied posted a message on Diablo III DescriptionPosted in: News24.99 Euros in the UK is only around £14. That's a mighty cheap price for a UK game. Mighty.
and £14 = $42 NZ. That can't be right. I bet I will end up paying $100 NZ for this game, excluding shipping/pre ordering stuffs.
most likely will release december of 2009 at 59.99 USD. high quality game worth every gold piece!
Sounds about right.
$1 NZ = $0.5 UD, roughly. Probably more like $0.45 US, but what ever. Take the american price, and double it, rough esitmate for New Zealanders. -
Jun 7, 2008Elfen_Lied posted a message on Rumor: Diablo II Patch and Ladder ResetPosted in: NewsI always thought that a patch would precede a D3 announcement by a week or so. At the very least they have held it off for a reason to either coincide with a ladder reset or a D3 announcement.
Judging by what happened with Starcraft, logical progression is Ladder Reset, Patch, Announcement. So I guess we will have to wait and see. -
Jun 7, 2008Elfen_Lied posted a message on Rumor: Diablo II Patch and Ladder ResetAlways wondered what happened with this patch, original rumour mongering began around june last year. Under the title of 1.12 aka the Adria Patch.Posted in: News
Then your post came out, then it started up again with avengence, but sort of died off when nothing happened. Keep us posted with further developments won't you. -
Jun 6, 2008Elfen_Lied posted a message on UPDATED: New Diablo 3 Rumor Mill from PC Action MagazinePosted in: NewsAlternatively they might go with a gradually unfolding story by Deckard Cain.
That would be epic. I have written the old fan fiction based on that scenario. A cain-like figure is telling a story to a group of young children, wherein of course he utters his immortal line "stay a while and listen". I love his voice, If he doesn't appear in a future Diablo game in person, he would be a most befitting narrator. -

It's not Diablo's time, yet.
While I won't lie by saying I don't want Baldur's Gate III, which by all means I do, I think I might want Diablo III just a bit more.
BGIII has the potential to be awesome, but since Bioware essentually sold off the rights to BG to the highest bidder (which I think was Atari who then sold it to Obsidian), I don't know what will happen with the series, more lamo console games I'd imagine. -
Jun 5, 2008Elfen_Lied posted a message on UPDATED: New Diablo 3 Rumor Mill from PC Action MagazineYeh those shows suck. Rather watch Invader Zim.Posted in: News
"I shall rain down doom upon your filthy doomed heads" - Zim
"I gonna sing the doom song now.. doom doom doom doom doom doom doom doomy doomy doom doom!!" Grr.
Not sure I truly buy into magazines reporting rumours, it's almost no different from a forum member posting what they think and passing it off as a rumour. I guess I just don't like rumours, as more often than not that is all they are rumours. Or what you think will happen, doesn't and instead something else does, but you were so devoted or cared so much for the other thing, that when it didn't go your way you went into a bit of a depressive state. -

It has a cow and hell.
And the stupid naked devil guy. Ivan pantsed. or Red hinnybottom. His name changes each episode, BUtit either aluded to the fact he isn't wearing any pants (he has only worn pants twice) or his big red ass. -
Jun 5, 2008Elfen_Lied posted a message on UPDATED: New Diablo 3 Rumor Mill from PC Action MagazinePosted in: NewsAre there any other games with cows? I can only think of hellgate which was rumored to have a secret cow level (but doesn't). Unreal Tournament has warcows.
Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale and Neverwinter Nights all have cows. But not ones that walk on their hind legs and carry weapons. Though sometimes you do have to enter some back rooms and secret hide aways to find them.
This is certainly a good sign but, i think we need to stop the urge of getting over excited. Just in case it isnt diablo 3.
I would have to agree with you, but that would stop a large number of people. -

no diablo =(
The larger version of that picture, the one that appears on www.blizzard.com on the left hand side, will include Diablo's head. It is often the head that is present at the top of this forum.
They often leave Diablo out of the banners, as having two franchises on either side makes things simple also rather mirrored. WC>SC|SC<WC. Diablo would technically be a fifth wheel, err third wheel. Unless he is the "mirror" which is generally the Blizzcon or WWI logo, his presence would in essence ruin to a certain extent the imagery.
Personally I'd love to see him in there somewhere.
SC and WC (and sometimes WOW) are used primarily, as these series promote a very compeditive nature, you are always hearing about SC and WC tournaments. Diablo, being the game that it is, doesn't quite promote the same feel. The closest thing Diablo has to a tournament is the ladder. Top of the ladder wins.
WWI's and Blizzcons have massive SC and WC compititons, sadly they do not have Diablo compititions, at least not that I am aware of. But since the Diablo series as a whole is rather neglected at these events, save a little snippet of Cain saying "stay awhile and listen" I am not looking into the situation that much. -

No it's free forever. you don't register. Just hit continue.
If you don't want to download anythingyou do have the web page version, assuming you have java, and no program that blocks it. Certain tafes, schools, internet cafes do block it. -

If you look closely at both threads you will see the servers are actually different. Somewhere between the time I made my thread, and Umaro made this one, the server the webbased one lines to has been changed.
My thread said to go to Server: irc.wowirc.com Channel: #diablo3
Umaro says to go to Server: irc.gamesurge.net Channel: #diablo3 - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

As far as I can tell there is what, 4 people with over 8000 posts. Trying to remember what Nephalem rank kicks in at. Was it 8000 or 10000?
Nephalem is a pretty cool title and you have to (kinda) work for it. I can't really think of anything that would fit to be above Nephalem in rank.
Edit...
Uh I think I had some posts moved around. I was sure I was short of 10000 posts last time I was here. Now i have 10411.

Yes, yes it does.

So that changes gameplay quite a bit. over all it's the same (they all use the same graphics engine (Infinity)), but assigning talents and skills is quite different in IWD 2 that it was for IWD 1 and the BG series.
Still fun though.

Doesn't mean you couldn't still have clans and guilds like you do in Warcraft/Starcraft for identidying afilliations.

Is Dragon Age: Origins a multiplayer game? (Back to top)
Dragon Age: Origins delivers a focused, single-player RPG experience. Since this is the first game set in the world of Dragon Age, the team wanted to concentrate on a single player experience that would allow the players to learn the incredible history, story, and lore in the game.
First game set in the world? are they suggesting they will set more in this world later? possibly with multiplayer?
Still, I will give it a try.

I know most of it was banter, but it's still a lot of posts in a short time.

I'll still be at the forums to mod the forum, but I don't think I'll be able to play.
sorry guys.

Jim entered the bar with reluctance and approached the bar. He noticed the poster asking for skilled men.
"Might as well apply." he thought. "I've been looking for some excitement. but first..."
"Bar keep! a tankard of your finest!"
