Diablo III Description
Diablo III is being developed as the definitive action role-playing game, and a true continuation of the Diablo series. Players will create a hero from one of five distinct classes, such as barbarian or witch doctor, each equipped with an array of spells and abilities. As these heroes adventure through rich and varied settings, unraveling an epic storyline and engaging in combat with hordes of monsters and challenging bosses, they'll grow in experience and ability and acquire items of incredible power.
The game takes place on Sanctuary, a world of dark fantasy. Unbeknownst to most of its inhabitants, Sanctuary was saved some twenty years ago from the demonic forces of the underworld by a few brave and powerful heroes. Most of those warriors who directly faced Hell's armies - and were fortunate enough to survive - went mad from their experiences. And most of the others have buried their haunted memories and pushed the horrors from their thoughts. In Diablo III, players will return to Sanctuary to confront evil in its many forms once again.
Diablo III will be a fitting sequel to Diablo II, with the easy interface, fast-paced action, and visceral gameplay that Diablo players have come to expect and enjoy. It will also include many new features that will take the Diablo action-RPG experience to the next level!
Diablo III for PC Features:
* Five powerful character classes to choose from, including the barbarian and witch doctor.
* Brand-new 3D graphics engine enhanced with spectacular visual effects and Havok physics.

Incredible rip-off indeed.
which is equivelant to 49.80$.
not euros.
How do we know Blizzard allowed them too though, they likely have no clue about it or just found out recently.
Collectors edition could include dev videos, posters/printed art, extra game guide etc.
i dont think thats all true, if you research release dates for previous Blizzard titles, youll find a game is released approx. 8 - 12 months after announcment, i really think Blizzard might blow some poeple away with this title and spring it on us a little early, its been in prodictuion for 5 years already. no reason to delay any longer. they ARE releasing betas, once they recieve all the input they need from beta testers, its to the shelves we go.
Christmas with Diablo.
Didn't the penguin or the ice in the teaser give this away
Now I'm not a fancy Europe man but i believe thats in late march right? (just so happens to be 3 days before my birthday too!) thats roughly 230ish days, which is a hard wait but I'm patient, since i first ball parked this game as late 2010.
I agree with everyones prior posts... the game looks very far in development, especially since they've been working on it for so long. The fact that everything had English translations in the teasers was enough... remember the Starcraft 2 teaser?
Let the countdown begin.
Watch the gameplay vid again..they say that only the first act is ready..
Kieran, thanks for the nice description.
No word yet.
Not only that, my wife and I both enjoy playing Diablo. Our computers are set up right next to each other and we don't have to type messages back and forth, very convenient. If it were to be a p2p game, not only would we have to shell out $120-$150 to buy the 2 copies we'd need, then we would also have to spend who knows how much every month to play the game.
and £14 = $42 NZ. That can't be right. I bet I will end up paying $100 NZ for this game, excluding shipping/pre ordering stuffs.
Sounds about right.
$1 NZ = $0.5 UD, roughly. Probably more like $0.45 US, but what ever. Take the american price, and double it, rough esitmate for New Zealanders.
well anyways thats enough from wow.
In this finnish netstore they have a date for release in november 29th 2008 and preorders are up. But below it says "its an estimate and will probably change"
I think the dates given for pre-orders aren't worth trusting, as they can be pushed back perfectly legally until the game is released, or refunded if it doesn't release at all (Baal forbid.)
Also $1 NZ is more like $.75 UD, unless we're talking about a pre-bush government for some reason.
Also,as we can see from the gameplay trailer, the basic concept of the game including the edited engine and the graphic part (which is the main part of the game anyway) are already finished. Thus meaning that they have only to finish the rest of the acts, quests and the map, and recieve reports from the beta testers, and it's ready to sell.
So, we can expect D3 to come out, somewhere between 3 to 12 months from now. I know it's very approximated, but we can't say anything more surely until they announce it themselves.
And the last thing, don't trust pre-order sites, because they have absolutely no means of knowing the release date, as it is scrictly against blizzard policy.
regards
P.S. One more thing, don't be surprised if you find the price extremely high, because they know we'll do whatever it takes to play the game (at least i would)
