Sep 11, 2011Bleu42 posted a message on Much Ado About ColorsI've agreed with people about the blue mana too boring for the WD for awhile, since they were officially announced. But as I watch this third installment of a FnF beta WD play through, it's changed my mind; The blue DOES look really good actually, especially with the surrounding environments. I say defiantly watch the vids or play the game before we start demanding changes. =DPosted in: News

see i was thinken sentse its beta and not the demo they released at press events. that maybe you will still be able to play ur char after u complete the first act and cant go any farther. then what good is that char besides just bank space. remember to take his runes off before you beat the act lol. more runes u find maken multiple toons, u can shift them around and see or get a general concept of what skills u like for each class. remember that for rule of thumb. plus its first act so u wont get that many lvls... ehhh frustrating lol. seriously all this diablo news all the time gives me high blood pressure just gimmie the damn game
I'm sure they can play their toon after they have beaten the skeleton king, but know that runes don't drop until the second act, so you won't be seeing them in the beta =/ -
Aug 29, 2011Bleu42 posted a message on Diablo 3 Beta: What to ExpectAh cool ty. Hopefully the people who don't want to play the beta and only signed up so they can sell the keys know this, and take themselves out of the pool =D *wishful thinking*Posted in: News

Aug 29, 2011Bleu42 posted a message on Diablo 3 Beta: What to ExpectI'd also like to ask a question, are beta keys (at least for diablo 3) tied to ones' account, and can only be used by the original account? Or are they separate?Posted in: News

Regardless of what they do, there will be an area in Inferno where you can get the most items / minute of grinding.
They say they want a flat difficulty curve and no incentive to do runs of a particular boss/area. The only way to guarantee this is to give all monsters in Inferno the same drop rates.
So that you don't grind the first area of Act 1 (or the first area which has the highest number of low-HP monsters) they would need to adjust the HP/Resistances of every monster in Inferno to be able to be killed at the same rate.
I know we shouldn't compare to D2, but the portal to Nilathark's temple that Anya made. That was a huge farming spot just for XP. If, in inferno, you could go to a similar style of location (near a portal or waypoint) and kill enemies quickly, then the incentive becomes to just grind that area.
Of course, they could simply just implement a 30 second or 1 minute timer on exiting a game and creating a new one.
I can never find the quotes when i need them, but there was a recent blue post about this issue, and addressing people asking if they will scale the monsters to be killed at the same rate. It was either jay or bash but they said they were toying with the thought of slightly screwing around with the drop rates to normalize inferno, so yea you can go into that area and decimate the 4k skeles, but added together they have the same drop rate as those huge berzerkers in a different area. -

I have a doubt about INFERNO...
can you venture to any area of the INFERNO difficulty level from the very start of the difficulty meaning no principal quests or do you have to go through the same procedure as previous difficulties and finish INFERNO before you can roam freely?
From what I gather you can start in INFERNO difficulty anywhere and roam freely to any location.... please confirm or deny.
While i have no concrete evidence, it makes complete sense that you would have to play through the entire game once again to unlock the whole thing. (I'm guessing because of achievements and such, like 'complete inferno'). - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

My understanding is it goes to all enemies hit with the 3rd part of any generator, and some such as fists of thunder have an AOE component at the end, which should spread it to everything in the AOE radius.

What? There's already raw damage sets, like the ones I mentioned. I was commenting that Akkhans should get a damage buff to be competitive, and have it be raw damage such as the IK set so Saders have a catch all set like every other class.

My personal take is that every class needs their one catch all set, where you can use pretty much whatever spender you like. Sets such as Tals, IK, Nats and Akkhans (which needs a buff for sure). So for Akkhans I'd like to see them keep the resource portion and add an overall raw damage boost.

Yea used a standard HoTa build. Had an ancient gavel / FnR / cindercoat / random legendaries, and cubed Furnace / strongarms / zodiac.

I remember a blue post about this a couple weeks or so back, you'll have to check the forums on battle net I think other people were having the same issue.

Shapeshifting Druid, with forms that you can only pick one of to take at a time (just like saders and monks with auras and whatnot). Maybe Wolf for duel wielding / Bear for 2 hander / Chimera (idk w/e) for casting. Whichever forms, I've always invisioned the D3 Druid to be a melee / caster hybrid, with only a couple summon spells.

While I'd love three classes, so I'm not responding to that, I did want to point out that having an equal number of classes for each main stat doesn't matter anymore. Before smart loot, it absolutely mattered because having 3 classes use strength meant you'd find more strength items than anything else.
Now that we've got smart loot, it doesn't matter if there's 19 classes with Strength and only 2 classes for int and dex, because 15% of your loot is random, and no matter how many main stats they add, 85% of your loot will always smart loot to you.

It's a really fun time sink. I did the same thing, got burnt out on WoD and spent most of my time with D3. Personally, after about a month into a season I get burnt out here as well, but hey HoTs and HS are a blast, so rotating between the 3 works out for me.
This game's draw for me is the loot hunt. It's just fun to think of the what if when it comes to drops and items, and now that they keep updating old items and balancing others, the pool of near BiS items has grown to a very nice size. And of course trying to push your personal limits on Greater Rifts every time you get an upgrade is a blast as well.
If you're looking for a more casual game than WoW for now (at least until legion lol) D3 can definitely give you a lot of fun for awhile.

Fun ideas OP, the problem though of course is Grifts. These will be absolutely mandatory whenever you wanted to push a Grift, which means either they drop a ton and now everyone's power levels need to be re-balanced, OR they drop very rarely meaning why even try a Grift push for leaderboards until you've farmed more. Fun, but bad for the game imo.

I feel like you should've added 'my child' to the end of that =D

Drood. ORRRRRR if you twist my arm, a poison / arcane / cold / physical assassin / ninja hybrid.
But still, Drood.

We've known for years they begin work as soon as the previous project is finished, sometimes prior. Hell Blizzard JUST said they're like 2-3 content updates ahead of TgT for Hearthstone, and that's not even out yet. They started D3X2 before RoS shipped, and my money is on not only an announcement but a ton of info this Blizzcon. They made a point to say that WoW's next expansion is going to be announced tomorrow / HS will have just had TgT launch / we already know a ton about Sc2LotV / HoT's just launched and is already going through new content. All that's left for actual surprises and announcements would be OverWatch and D3, and considering they straight up canceled a Blizzcon years ago because they felt they had nothing new to bring, AND that at the most for OW they'll be talking about when beta starts, yea money's on D3.

Nice thread. My vote is to make it exponential forever.
