Sep 11, 2011Bleu42 posted a message on Much Ado About ColorsI've agreed with people about the blue mana too boring for the WD for awhile, since they were officially announced. But as I watch this third installment of a FnF beta WD play through, it's changed my mind; The blue DOES look really good actually, especially with the surrounding environments. I say defiantly watch the vids or play the game before we start demanding changes. =DPosted in: News

see i was thinken sentse its beta and not the demo they released at press events. that maybe you will still be able to play ur char after u complete the first act and cant go any farther. then what good is that char besides just bank space. remember to take his runes off before you beat the act lol. more runes u find maken multiple toons, u can shift them around and see or get a general concept of what skills u like for each class. remember that for rule of thumb. plus its first act so u wont get that many lvls... ehhh frustrating lol. seriously all this diablo news all the time gives me high blood pressure just gimmie the damn game
I'm sure they can play their toon after they have beaten the skeleton king, but know that runes don't drop until the second act, so you won't be seeing them in the beta =/ -
Aug 29, 2011Bleu42 posted a message on Diablo 3 Beta: What to ExpectAh cool ty. Hopefully the people who don't want to play the beta and only signed up so they can sell the keys know this, and take themselves out of the pool =D *wishful thinking*Posted in: News

Aug 29, 2011Bleu42 posted a message on Diablo 3 Beta: What to ExpectI'd also like to ask a question, are beta keys (at least for diablo 3) tied to ones' account, and can only be used by the original account? Or are they separate?Posted in: News

Regardless of what they do, there will be an area in Inferno where you can get the most items / minute of grinding.
They say they want a flat difficulty curve and no incentive to do runs of a particular boss/area. The only way to guarantee this is to give all monsters in Inferno the same drop rates.
So that you don't grind the first area of Act 1 (or the first area which has the highest number of low-HP monsters) they would need to adjust the HP/Resistances of every monster in Inferno to be able to be killed at the same rate.
I know we shouldn't compare to D2, but the portal to Nilathark's temple that Anya made. That was a huge farming spot just for XP. If, in inferno, you could go to a similar style of location (near a portal or waypoint) and kill enemies quickly, then the incentive becomes to just grind that area.
Of course, they could simply just implement a 30 second or 1 minute timer on exiting a game and creating a new one.
I can never find the quotes when i need them, but there was a recent blue post about this issue, and addressing people asking if they will scale the monsters to be killed at the same rate. It was either jay or bash but they said they were toying with the thought of slightly screwing around with the drop rates to normalize inferno, so yea you can go into that area and decimate the 4k skeles, but added together they have the same drop rate as those huge berzerkers in a different area. -

I have a doubt about INFERNO...
can you venture to any area of the INFERNO difficulty level from the very start of the difficulty meaning no principal quests or do you have to go through the same procedure as previous difficulties and finish INFERNO before you can roam freely?
From what I gather you can start in INFERNO difficulty anywhere and roam freely to any location.... please confirm or deny.
While i have no concrete evidence, it makes complete sense that you would have to play through the entire game once again to unlock the whole thing. (I'm guessing because of achievements and such, like 'complete inferno'). - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I've had the same feelings for awhile when it came to the paragon grind, it's just not fun. Knowing that even if I played every three hours a day, there's just no possible way to remain even slightly competitive after just a couple weeks into the season. I agree someone who puts in more time should feel rewarded, but I personally feel that reward should be all the chances at better gear, not straight damage and mitigation.
I'm not sure if capping the main stay gain after 800 would be the best route, but right now it's just not fun. I played for about 3 weeks into this new season and got a bunch of great gear. I had to take about a week off for work. When I logged back on and saw the hundreds of levels ahead leaderboards were at, I didn't start playing again, because there's zero chance to be competitive. Should I be handed first place because I don't play as much? Of course not. But knowing that if I DON'T log 10 hours or more a day I wouldn't be able to place no matter what I did means somethings wrong.

Cons;
Get boosted by a SC character that can go ham and doesn't care if they die. So there will have to be some sort of confusing iteration like you can't play with SC until you're max level, or a certain Plvl ect.
HC wouldn't play together at ALL if they could play with SC. A full HC run would actually be sub-optimal to the point where anyone trying to rank up wouldn't do it. Why have a full group that can die permanently when you can have 3 other people tanking the mobs without a care. It would turn into a 4 man with 1 HC character in the back, while the rest push the Grift without a thought for safety.
The two modes need to continue to stay seperated, it just waters down what HC mode is all about.

Good job finding information on the bug, please report it to Bnet instead of here.

Thank you for finding bugs good sir, but I urge you to post them on the bug forums over on Battle.net, where they can actually be documented.

I'll always be playing seasons!
But for the stash tabs, you have to complete the season journey right? I feel bad for NS players, because if you have to complete the 'whole' journey, you're looking at a lot of hours of season.

While the title might be a little dramatic, I basically agree with you OP.
I'd vote for a power cap on paragon, with levels gained after that made purely for either gold find / cosmetic rewards.

I have two unopened vanilla CE. Ones yours for $400. Muhahahahaaha *cough* hahahahaha

D2 was extremely easy. Why do you think people played on x8, because it was a joke otherwise.
That's also why it felt like there were more builds in D2; you could mow down hell mode with whatever skill you wanted.

If the email plan you're suggesting only emails once in a while, then yes a botter would absolutely just get up real quick to fix it. And, to my point before, if your email system (or anything similar) is sending out emails every two hours, then no one would play because that's a pain in the ass.
And what's your point about an obvious indicator being the bot hit the WP 10 times? I goof around all the time while talking to my buddies, and I suspect if you saw me play you'd scream BOT! This is a MUCH harder problem to fix than you're saying.

The botters' phone alerts them to the email, they check it and hop on their account, type in the code and continue to bot.
It's one of those problems that's a LOT harder to fix then people think, because any of the obvious fixes would be so irritating to all the other legitimate players that everyone would hate it.

This honestly sounds like a hard drive failure. If you've got your Windows install disk, try swapping out your drive for a fresh one. Or a different one (maybe one from a friend) and see if it boots.
You say it tries to boot. If you put in your windows install disk and then start it up, you should be prompted to boot from disk by hitting a button while the computer first turns on. From there you can choose to install windows, then custom install, and you can see your drive(s). If you're brave enough, you can delete every partition in your drive, and do a fresh install of windows. I'm not anywhere near qualified for tech support, but it's what I had to do after that friggin fastboot dicked my drive.
Aaaaaaaaaand if you're just looking to upgrade, I just upgraded myself and here's my 2 cents;
Get a DDR 4 compatible motherboard, they are pretty cheap and I personally recommend the Asus pro gaming Z170 since it's the one I got (JUST DISABLE FAST BOOT IN BIOS FFS). And DDR4 ram is pretty cheap (~120$ for 16 gigs of DDR 4 Gskill ripjaw V's). Oh and don't go crazy on a new GPU, since Q2 next year should see the new Pascal architecture from Nvidia and whatever the blank AMD has as well.

If true, what a dirt bag.
