posted a message on Scary Monsters!!! Scare crap out of you.
A game is not rated M or T because monsters are "scary" to you or not "scary" to you.

Blood and dismemberment = M rating.

Could this be a definitive declaration that Battle.net will be free for Diablo III as well? Would players be willing to pay for extended services if they are implemented? Does this increase the appeal of buying and playing Diablo III on Battle.net for fans?
The "definitive declaration" that D3 will be 100% free and that there will be no premium services or microtransactions for additional content has been spoken by the Blizzard CEO relatively long ago.

That was newsworthy, this is speculation.

Well in some RPG games melee classes have abilities that soak up damage or shield from damage in some way. All melee classes in WoW have such abilities.

Perhaps the Barbarian will have such abilities. Don't see why he wouldn't. It makes the game more interesting and tactical, as you said.

They said they actually considered letting you pick up a life essence globe which "overheals" you so that you keep that effect for a while, as well as implementing a system where you can save a single health globe for later.

But since they are now sure that there will be potions for tight situations, I don't think anything else is needed.

You guys are not even funny. Of course there will be an OPTION.

Even if they do not include it in a moment of madness (but they said they will), you will still be able to turn it on specifically for that game from your GPU control panel (99% cards support drivers that do that).

dont need... bashiok said it all... anti-alising makes your computer use more poligons on the model...
That's the most retarded thing I heard this month.

And he did not say that.

More casual, yes but D3, i beleive will be 16+ where, WoW is 12+ i think. Also lots of blood and hacking up demons from hell is straightforward not for everyone..
Welcome to 2009. Most games these days are very violent just for the purpose of attracting as much people as possible. Especially teenagers who stick to 16+ rating like flies to a pile of shit.

Anyway I still can't see how your argument that D3 is not for everyone has anything to do with whether the game should have TV ads or not. Once again, D2 had TV ads.

Hahaha, the guy thinks duping was the reason single slot, useful items became the currency in Diablo 2. Ridiculous.

All the duping did was drive up inflation, runes would always be the currency for LoD, as the SoJ used to be in the base game. They were basically designed to be.
Yeah, if there were only ten or so high runes on the realm (due to no duping), I'm sure those ten runes would make a fine currency!

Don't be an idiot... Try to understand what he said, instead of assuming that you are all-knowing.

    Quote from "BryanM" »
Ergo, gold will at best remain like water, instead of a currency. Which is okay, but the guy doesn't have to try so hard to razzle dazzle us...
Once again. Right... YOU KNOW that it will be useless. What if they make repairs so expensive that without gold you can't continue playing. Then it won't be so useless anymore, will it? And they make it so painfully hard to get from drops that you will be begging people do give you gold.

I guess it's impossible, because you know better than Blizzard.

As for the WoW TV ads, imo, they arent really necessary but they do appeal to a larger audience with the ads. But WoW is for everyone, D3 isnt.
But D2 had TV ads as well. You forgot? Don't see why they should advertise it before it's out, though.

    1. There's potions. Obviously limited with a CD.

    2. There's globes dropping from bosses / adds / destroyed objects (relevant objects, not scenery) in the boss arena

    3. There's wells and items in the boss arena that you can use to restore health

    4. Why do you care about difficulty balancing

I wasn't speaking of minor English technicalities. I was talking about the concept of not having your character in the picture.
It's not the first or the last screenshot without a character on their site.

Yeah they missed something. The whole frigging game. They showed a single dungeon that was polished enough to be shown to the public, as they said themselves.

More enemies is harder to balance than to just power them up.
I don't think so. But the problem is that you will have single player encounters where your screen is filled with monsters already. There won't be any space do add monsters for additional players.
