When we met with Blizzard at their headquarters the day before BlizzCon, I couldn't stop staring at Lead World Designer Leonard Boyarsky's amazing Diablo 3 rainbow t-shirt:
It's obviously a tongue-in-cheek response to all the fans who believed the new game was going to be too bright and colorful, but these shirts were only made in short supply for the Diablo 3 development team. I was crushed to learn this because the moment I saw it, a little voice in the back of my head said, "If there's one thing I need to leave BlizzCon 2008 with, it's that t-shirt!" Leonard and Jay Wilson claimed that they weren't planning on releasing the t-shirt because they worried some fans wouldn't appreciate the lighthearted treatment of a game like Diablo. Personally, I think the shirt is hilarious and want to see it made available to the public. I like to think that all of you share the same sense of humor.
Well, during our meeting I promised them that I would conduct a poll for all the Diablo fans to vote on because I had a feeling most of you would agree that this shirt needs to go up for sale or, at the very least, be included with some Diablo 3 Collector's Edition set when the game is finally released.
So the time has come to voice your opinions about it. If you want the Diablo 3 rainbow t-shirt to be made available for purchase, please show your support for it by replying to this thread and voting in our poll! If enough of us show our support for it, we just might have a Diablo 3 rainbow t-shirt (ponies and happy clouds 'n all) as a part of our future wardrobes.

I have mixed feelings about that Rainbow shirt Jay Wilson wore at Blizzcon. Yeah, it was mildly funny. And I understood his feelings about many of the unfair criticisms of Diablo 3 so far, but I also think there were many fair criticisms that he grouped with the unfair ones and dismissed them all outright.

I agree with you, it is very funny when your favorite hellish game franchise is taken over and turned into a cute cuddly world lacking in darkness, contrast, grit, which are replaced with colorful effects and rainbows. It is even more funny when fans complain, and the designers give them a big middle finger by creating a T shirt to show just how little they are about fan opinions, which they wear to all public events. The only thing funnier is that the designers dont think releasing the T shirt to the masses would make it any more public than wearing it to every press conference.
lol I think its amazing ahah. I personaly thought that art direction was just perfect but ya, this one is a very good joke for any Diablo 3 Fans. If this doesn't get on market, I will just remake it and make one myself lol
The ponies should also be wearing WoW / SCII / DIII style shoulder pads.
On the reverse side of the tee I'd like to see a print of Boyarsky, Wilson and Bashiok bent over and mooning us with each allocated attribute points for buttock size, depth of bum crack and so on. But all the attribute points should be the same value. The caption would read: "D3 - now with dumbed down algorithms". Their bum cheeks should be tattooed with the words "casual gamer".

So we've got over the problem of colour in D3. Great. Now let's argue about everything else not yet set in stone and help make this game simply great! Game on.

I saw one of the devs at blizzcon wearing one and was hoping they would go one sale.
I would buy a Diablo hoodie with the original Firey logo from the title-screen of Diablo1 though!
I do want to see a plain black shirt with the three stripes on it and Diablo's skull face sort of showing through the stripes.

If you are going to be vocal enough to sound your opinion, you should be able to take a little shot back, especially one so funny.
You should always be able to laugh at yourself.
Fuck you, I'm a dragon.

Not at all, it would still have the cutesy logo on it. It is simply a matter of background colour preference.
What, is AVERAGE JOE GRAY supposed to be cute?
