As most of us are aware that the barbarian, wizard and Witch Doctor are currently the only classes so far. Im wondering if anyone had some sick ideas for classes
Here are mine:
Crusader- Half evil paladin driven mad from his obsessive addiction of light and began to tap into some dark arks without totally being overwhelmed.
Magi- Master of the elements, able to summon elemental creatures such as; Fire, Water, Earth and wind elementals. Ability to be a pure caster or a mix of a barbarian and a wizard type charachter.
Blood Guard- After years of slavery and mistreatment the blood guard tribe broke free from the wrath of diablo's cultists. Blood guards are undead type creatures particularily warriors; almost like from wow :S... Anyway they posses the ability to tap into dark arts and do immense damage from long range with bows, but they also may be a tank type fighter that can take a lot of damage and regenerates health rapidly.
I think it would be cool to have that magi type guy that could summon of elemental creatures of different kinds. Would be cool to see a few 3 foot water and fire elementals with the amazing d3 graphics firing away at some demons.

My guess is a hunter like Titan Quest's hunter. Which can choose on use a spear and shield or a bow. That would cover a melee and long ranged characters on one character only. Leaving an empty slot to create another cool/really new class.
I serioulsy like the Ranger idea discussed in many of these types of threads.
Make him proficient with ranged weapons and swords (or daggers) and make the three skill trees:
Tracking and Nature
Combat Focus
Passive and Stealth
Obviously these names for skill trees don't do further ideas justice...
I think D3's skill tree model don't follow that line. See the Wiz, Barb and WD trees, they are all independent and many times redudant (you got crowd controls, direct attacks, passives, defensive skills mixed in all the 3 trees. Creat a ''combat'' tree is no-sense because all trees is for combat, once diablo is a action game..).
If there's one thing a ranged class need is Bow Mastery or something (supposing Barbs will have Weapon Mastery of some kind like in D2. It was ridiculous that Amazon needed 2 skills (Penetrate and Strafe/Multiarrow) to increase attack rating and damage, while Barb had both in one skill.
Actually the Paladin should have had (misspelling? :p) Sword and Scepter Mastery, and Barbarian shold have had an all-round skill called Weapons Mastery, so any weapon in his hand was better.

I guess the barb will only get those 2H Mastery, Dual Wield Mastery and Shield Mastery . . .
I'm from the camp that thinks there needs to be a Ranger/stealth class that incorporates Ranged and Melee attacks somewhere in the Game. This class's armor should not be as uber-cheesy as the Amazon's looked in D2 (it should not have looked like a palladin with long hair and breasts--hope that was forum appropriate). Incorporate cloaks and leather armors into it. At any rate I'll likely spend way too much time on the pc when D3 comes out
Well for sure there must be some sort of knight. This is diablo after all now wow. Amor swords war hammers. One for sure will be some sort of knight. I would not want a samuri if there is going to be a knight. i think too close to the same. Range is probably coming back for the 5th but they could come up with a whole new character here. elf could be one with range abilities as well melee and magic a mix of it all. I hope not a cleric

I'm with you. I really suport the stealth assassin/archer idea.
I want a ninja and pirate. ;D The ninja's would obviously be evasion type characters, relying on the element of suprise, possibly poisons and assassination skills. The pirate would be a one handed melee dps character, using alcohol to fuel his fighting.
Well, Blizzard already took my idea for a character class when they made the Witchdoctor. It is so freaking similar to my Overseer that I posted in August 2007, it just isn't funny!! Seriously though, thank you Blizzard for liking my ideas. They took a few skill designs, and took the skill trees (fire, plagues, summoning). There are several obvious differences, but a lot of obvious similarities.
All I ask for in return is a unique scythe named...
The Blinding Wrath of Archie
+10 to light radius
Very fast attack speed
20% chance of Crushing Blow
20% chance that 30% damage dealt is converted to Fire damage
20% chance that 30% damage dealt is converted to Cold damage
20% chance that 30% damage dealt is converted to Lightning damage
20% chance that 30% damage dealt is converted to Magic damage (or whatever they're calling it)

Elf is not a class, it's a race. And it doesn't exist in the Diablo universe.
He said wow not WoW. Stupid acronym.
