@ Ranim: Dunno, if you're talking about this OP, nothing was edited out by me and I was the last person to edit it. There's a section at the top about PvP, although I think there may be something in one fo the other updates, as well.
It went like this... Mockery asked the rep if he could join a game and attack somebody.. and the rep said something to the effect of Yes, but it isn't activated in the game. Then he said he looked for the function and found it but it didn't do anything.
There was more but that's the basic body of it. -

They have waypoints too. If you played Titan Quest you know what im talking about.... that basically eliminates the need for the portals....Quote from "GWeizman" »That's pretty much that whole point in deleting them - it gives you an easy way of escaping any situation, which kinda kills strategy. You go in a very difficult dungeon, saying "oh well, I'll go in there anyways and just TP myself out if it's too hard." -

I tried looking for the mention of the PVP... mockery had spoken to a Blizzard Rep and apparently revealed the PVP function being similar to the previous game... suffice it to say I can't find it... infact it seems to have been edited out.Quote from "Valtonis" »was there any mention of how PvP is gonna be implemented?
having a specific server for PvP?
having an option to turn it on or off when ever you want it (when you challenge or get challenged)?
or specific areas in the game (arenas)?
I most definitely remember reading it yesterday. -

May 11, 2009Ranim posted a message on Bashiok on "Skill Trees" in Diablo 3.My only fear is that fundamentals of the game don't turn out flawed like in Warcraft 3 where Chaos Damage pretty much ruled out everything else and the Blademaster and the Demon Hunter were the only heroes people would predominantly pick in matchesPosted in: News
What if it turns out that while it's true that mixing skills and runes has it's advantages, but it turns out that such things as an all Arcane Wizard is the most powerful build?
Now, it may just be paranoia and 3/4ths ignorance but those things are concerns when considering how popular PVP will probably be. -

Hasbro owns HG:L nowQuote from "Paladin88" »Would be funny if it were something about "Hellgate: London". (I don't really think it will be though lol)
Who still has the licencing rights to that? Is it a person, a board of directors from some company... ? -
Mar 28, 2009Ranim posted a message on NEW Unannounced Blizzard GameMost likely it's Blizzards attempts to expand. This is a great time for them to do that, they're not gonna suffer much from the recession since WoW is such a large source of income and their numbers are not falling one iota as far as I know.Posted in: News

Diablo 2 had that problem, but they dinked around with functional magical properties like regenerative stacks and the uniques and runewords that did strange things. Diablo 3 was going to have a more elaborate rune system for all the skills, why not repurpose the spirit of the thing for magical properties? It can still set itself apart from the skill runes.
From launch and even now, I am wondering what this game wants to be. The industrialization of trade has stripped players of any need to socially interact with other players, there is no impulse to think about how we play the game together, you can just bruteforce your way through content, and you can play the auction house for nearly everything. I hope the content they haven't told us about will be the types of things that will give Diablo 3 a sense of direction and meaning, because what we know about the expansion thusfar is immaterial to that end.
My only other comment are small things.

They don't have any reason not to dick around with the idea.

That's a much more detailed explanation of the solution, as well as methods of spreading awareness. There is quite a bit of reading on this site but it's worth reading for a few hours.

You can view the models at http://www.games-workshop.com and even buy them there.
I've seen the chaos marines and their vehicles' models up close. The marines are pretty detailed for something that's takes up the surface area of a nickel, it really comes down to the painting quality that brings out the different shapes. The vehicles are different, they're bigger and thus have more detail. Also it should be said that almost everything is customizable. So if you get a Chaos Rhino you can put a rocket pod on top, you can dictate where hatches and control panels are. You can determine which gun ports are empty and not.
I don't personally own any, im just speaking from my experience when I helped my friend make his.
The painting is kind of the hallmark of the Warhammer franchise as a whole though, you have to make your own army colors, so it's not as if you have to do black and gold and cobalt. you can do pea green, pink, and purple if you want.

1) The name was changed to Companion
2) They will have more depth than the D2 Mercenaries... such as they will go so far as to have a background story.
I don't want to go running around looking for this info, but that sums it up, aside from that they have not talked about it, next blizzcon... one of you admins that go to Blizzcon ought to ask.

I guess someone just really has to ask bashiok or jay wilson at the next blizzcon or even try it out for themselves in the demo.
