Angris council is nothing more than a part of another triad. Another part in Angel hierarchy.

Mathematics is a penumbra, those who hold such an affection to this noble field would find themselves into the realm of the Heirarchy of Abstracts and Paradoxes.
If you also look closely at the picture (And no I didn't read all 70 pages either) You'll notice that there seems to be fire shooting out of his back (Supporting the corruption or punshiment of tyrael theory). The other picture series with him rising up and the scene constantly getting brighter doesn't look like any form of corruption however. It leads me to believe the he is either turning mortal, He's channeling some kind of great power, or perhaps even being destroyed by the will of the high heavens.
As for the second shot, we have no idea who that is, but its certainly not Tyrael, that's not his armor. As most people say, its likely Imperius. i Think your right in all the pics with Tyrael you never see his with winged-like decor on his head or shoulders.

My life is like a dragon, first praised, then hated, now lost.
What would cause Tyrael to become evil? Hes an angel, it would take a lot for him to become corrpt, unless him and izzy planned it all from the start, without the prime evils no one could challenge them, but Tyreal sent a hero to kill izzy so he would be the only one who could rule.
omg...why tyrael mus be good or bad? i think that angels (like demons) simply dont consider sanctuary and his living inhabitants. angels come down only to fight demons, regardless of who is in the world.
tyrael is the only angel that hepls us in some way (maybe not the best way IMO) and i support the theory of him banished from heavens. but sure as hell he's not a bad guy.
True, the angels sole purpose is to win the war against hell. And if any of you actually read some of the books, you would know that not all angels are good. In the sin war, Angels and humans(nephalem) fought just like demons and angels did. They had no concern for them, and even thought of them as abominations. Tyrael also thought this at first, but then saw the compassion in humans, and let them survive to see where their path took them. But on the note of tyraels corruption, matbe he could have been corrupted in a similar way the wanderer was, but I personally dont think he will be.
I don't understand why so many people want Tyrael to turn evil so they can fight him. He's one of the few characters that seem genuinely good. Where was the rest of his kind while the Prime Evils made a comeback?
Staying out of mortal affairs like they had agreed to.
So its been said that the storyline in Diablo3 will focus alot upon Tyreal. I just wanted to hear peoples thoughts or guesses at what might be so important about him.
i read something on blizzards forums that made me think. Someone asked "What happens if an angel imbeds a demonic Soul Stone into himself? I.E Tyrael and the MIA Baal Soul Stone". we never really saw baal's soulstone after the Act 5 entrance cinematic which he held around his neck. Could Tyreal possibly had the same idea as the warrior from d1 and tried holding the lord of terror at bay himself, except this time with the lord of destruction?

(this build was before D3 launched... looking back on it now - i had no idea what i was doing)
that actually makes sense in some ways but the only problem i have with this is that the game is called diablo so it should in turn be centered around diablo.
IMO i thnk that the storyline isnt focusing so much on tyreal but on some kinda connection between the archangel tyreal and the lord of terror.
I know - Tyreal and Diablo are twins!!!! (just kidding)
We didn't see Baal's soulstone, because there is no such stone. In the story review on the D3 site it's said that Baal's stone has been corrupted and therefore there has been needed someone who had the power to retain the demon within the stone. Maybe after Diablo rescued Baal, the soulstone has lost its purposes like those of Mephisto's and Diablo's
then why would baal want to get it back from marius. if it was uselessthen why did he care.
Good idea, but, Tyrael can resist the power of the soulstone, this can be seen in the cinematic where he is holding Marius and gives him the stone, telling him to run to the portal and go to the hellforge and destroy it there.
Wow, anyone else think the soulstone is similar the ring from LOTR? It contains the much of the dark lord's power and if he regains it he becomes incredibly powerful, and the only way to destroy it is to take it to a hellish underground forge. Oh and its power corrupts humans who hold it.

its not about being able to resist the stone a bunch of people could resist it. its about weather or not he tried to trap baal in himself like tal rasha.
I think all they said was that this time they will focus more on Tyrael than they did in the previous game. That doesn't really indicate that the story will be centered around him or that he's going to be the final boss. It just means we'll see him in Diablo III more than we did in Diablo II.
I dont want to see more of Tyrael but more of the Angris Council.

From what I understood, destroying Diablo's soulstone meant he was banished back to the abyss, which doesnt absolutely mean hes gone forever.
And Tyrael will be a big focus i think, look at the front page of the diablo 3 site! I also dont think Tyrael would be dumb enough to put a soulstone in his head, I think he learned from d2 that that is a BAD idea.
And in regards to what happened to Baal's soulstone, didnt he put it in the worldstone to corrupt it? Also, one way to explain both the 3 merging to make one uberdemon and their return in the first place may be that a shard of the worldstone that contained their essences at the moment it exploded impaled Tyrael or one of the band of heroes, but not the barbarian.
then why would baal want to get it back from marius. if it was uselessthen why did he care.
umm the soulstone was damaged by baal which is why they needed a human body to complete the stone to make it strong enough to contain baal. Their soul stones didnt lose purpose, the prime evils just needed human bodys to posses to gain power, if the soulstones were isolated then they would pose no threat to the world. The soulstones still limite the prime evils powers even while they possess humans. They still server their purpose but they are still strong enough to posses humans and through the humans they can release some of there power.
Correct me if im wrong but this is what i got out of it. Iv only read 5 of the books so far, and iv also read alot of stuff on these forums and this is what iv gotten out of it.
